Always on the lookout for a new pizzeria to try, I was in Fairfield today and found Il Panino. Yelp reviews were very good, so I gave it a shot. I have to say, I really loved it! The restaurant has the feel of an old time place. Nothing super fancy, just good pizza. Since it was my first time here, I decided to go for a plain slice. It was excellent! There were also many other pies with great looking toppings on the counter to choose from. Prices very reasonable. Parking not a problem with a big lot. The woman serving behind the counter very friendly. I'll be back to try some different slices or a sandwich soon!

After work on Friday I stopped at lL Panino Pizzeria to pick up a pizza pie. Having had one of their delicious sandwiches, I felt that I should give their pizza a go. I went to their website and was surprised to discover that you could select from 25 different choices. Their website" is easy to navigate. First you chose the size, Individual 10" ($11.95+) or a Large 16"($16.95"+). Chose your crust, regular or gluten free, Extra toppings beyond what is stated in the pies description can be added. There are over15 to chose from. If your pie does not included pepperoni, it would be an extra $2.50. I choose the 16" Special Pizza at $16.95 which included: meatballs, mushrooms, onions, pepperoni, peppers and sausage. The sausage and sauce was a little spicy but really created an outstanding pizza. I will definitely be going back. They have outside dining and Covid-19 rules are adhered to. The interior is larger than most pizzerias. tables and chairs are placed on the perimeter. I liked the iconic photos which hang on the wall. They are opened till 9 pm which is good for me since I often work late.

Definitely our go to spot for pizza. We come here every couple of weeks for my husbands cheat meal. Lol. We can't get enough of these 2 pies, we always order the same thing, no menu needed. Food is always hot and fresh. Service is outstanding, restaurant is always clean and quiet. Definitely a place where u can enjoy the food and your company. Prices are great for the portion n quality food you get. Definitely take a look at their different pizza's and salads all are great! My go to is ALWAYS the CHICKEN MARSALA personal pie, it hits the spot every single time. My favorite chicken dish on a pizza . THE PANINO SPECIAL has everything on it. Enough toppings. Always hot, thin crust, it's PERFECTION. Support your local shops. Definitely worth it. BTW we cane in on Monday January 8th for an early dinner, and were surprised by desert!! Thank you Anthony for the sweet n unexpected gesture. It was amazing! We'll see you soon.

Classic pepperoni & Sicilian Crust cheese... so good

We just got off a flight & a 2hr drive from Connecticut. All I wanted was some yummy pizza & this place delivered! The Sicilian crust cheese was amazing & the pepperoni was perfection. Pizzas are sold whole or by the slice. The rest of the menu looked really good too... can't wait to come back. It was clean, friendly, and great for our big family. Thanks for a yummy dinner. Not to mention there is a pretty good bakery right next door! Get yourself a cannoli after your slice.

Stopped by here for lunch and was happy with my pizza the plain pizza was delicious perfect amount of cheese and sauce crispy bottom. The bbq chicken was ok i didn't like the chicken used but still was good. Lastly i had the garlic knots which were amazing the sauce was so flavorful I'll definitely be back for lunch! The service was great and the food came out in a timely manor. This place gives a classic pizzeria feel it does have seating available!

    Baked Ziti and Onion Rings

Service was fast, food was great. I ordered the Baked Ziti and it was delicious. My friend order a custom vegan cheese gluten free pizza. The ambiance was very warm and friendly as well. Would totally recommend going there again!

This is my favorite place to grab lunch during the work week. Everything I have gotten here has been fresh and delicious. But if this is your first time going then get the Blackened Grilled Chicken Salad. This is by far the best thing on the menu. The amount of chicken you get surpasses any normal salad and is always juicy and cooked perfectly. The salad has goat cheese and candy walnuts that are the perfect balance this salad needs. Also don't try substituting the dressing, the white balsamic is amazing. You deff can't go wrong here. I would order ahead as they do get pretty busy and there is often a wait. But totally worth it.

I had my back to the bar, but from what I was able to see this is a very cozy place. Service was quick and attentive, and we did not feel rushed and were able to enjoy a pleasant time chatting. Drinks: the black walnut Manhattan, Fig jam old fashioned, wine , beer and port. Drinks were all excellent, i tasted the Manhattan and enjoyed it over the Fig Jam. For apps: Clams oreganato (the couple with us enjoyed this), flat bread (was much more like pizza than flat bread, but still tasty, per my husband), and on the special New England Clam Chowder which was very good, not too thick and decent and fresh clams in it. Entrees: Shrimp Risotto scampi, very flavorful Risotto cooked perfectly. Two of us ordered the Cajun Mahi Mahi, over spinach with mashed, and 2 shrimp. the Cajun sauce was tasty with the perfect amount of heat, shrimp and mahi-mahi fresh and cooked perfectly. Rigatoni Bolognese which my husband enjoyed and said it was almost as good as my Italian mother's (like a good son-in-law) lol Dessert: Crème Brûlée - Brûlée was perfect, the crème was a little too thick for me. I ate it and enjoyed it, but not the best I've had. My husband ordered the key Lime Pie happy that it did not include nuts in the crust as some do, he thought it was good. Overall we had an enjoyable albeit pricy meal with good service. I would come back if other's wanted to go but it would not be my go to place.

What arrived did not appear to have burrata on it, but instead looked like a different melted cheese. I called the restaurant and asked if they could replace the pizza. I was told a replacement was only available for pickup, and that I would have to place and pay for a new order if I wanted another pizza delivered. When I asked for a refund, I was told I needed to contact the third-party delivery provider because Dough does not process refunds for online delivery orders. I then contacted Toast, the platform used for the order, and was told they could not issue the refund and that I needed to contact the restaurant. I called Dough again, explained the situation, and offered to send a photo. I made it clear that I was not trying to get free food. I simply wanted the correct order. After being placed on hold, I was told that the melted cheese on the pizza was the burrata and that this was how they prepare it. I am including a photo because I have never seen burrata served this way on a pizza. Mistakes happen, but the way this was handled was incredibly disappointing. I was passed back and forth, offered no reasonable delivery replacement or refund, and ultimately told that the pizza was correct despite what was delivered.

The Carciofi alla Giudia, the classic Jewish-Roman deep fried artichokes were beautifully presented. A good bit firmer than you'd find in Rome but were still well enjoyed and recommended. Tonno salad with fresh seared tuna was plentiful and packed with flavor. Speaking of flavor the porchetta sandwich was rich and delicious. Really this is closer to a bbq pork than authentic porchetta but still recommended. The star of the show is the chicken parm and eggplant parm. The eggplant was delicate, thinly sliced melt in your mouth. Luckily you get a huge plate. Chicken parm is also excellent and HUGE. While there is $10 plate fee if sharing a main they are fine if you order several items and share all. Very generous with their shaved Parmesan if requested. Prices on the higher side but not all that bad considering the quantity. This feels more like the type of place you come to with a large group than as a couple. Unless of course you are very hungry. I'm honestly shocked this place isn't packed wall-to-wall every night -- this is the kind of pizza you expect to find in Naples . From the second you walk in, you know they take their craft seriously. Stacks of real wood, the authentic Pavesi Italian oven, and trays of perfectly risen dough balls -- it's the real deal. No shortcuts, no gimmicks. Just craftsmanship. I ordered two pies: White Pie with Mushrooms & Olives Incredible. The crust has that perfect leopard-spotted char, blistered just right, crispy on the outside but still soft and airy inside. The ricotta and mozzarella are super fresh, the mushrooms taste like they were sliced minutes before hitting the oven, and the olives add the perfect salty punch. Every bite tasted like it was straight out of a wood-fired pizza boutique. Classic Margherita One word: unreal. The sauce is bright and fresh, the cheese melts into little pools of heaven, and the basil actually survives the oven without turning bitter. Balanced, clean, and addictive. The crust is truly the star -- you can tell they use high-quality "00" flour and slow fermentation. Light, airy, not heavy at all. The kind of crust you want to eat all of, even the charred ends. The owner Mike clearly cares about every detail -- from the dough to the toppings to the oven temperature. This isn't "pizza shop pizza," this is artisanal, handcrafted, authentic wood-fired pizza done right. Prices are super fair for this quality. Cash-only but totally worth it. If you love real Neapolitan wood-fired pizza, put this place on your list immediately. Easily one of the best pies I've had in NJ -- maybe the best. I'll definitely be back .
