Very cool building I remember coming to a Christian concert here in 2003. I went here recently with family and absolutely loved it! The decor is great, the building being an old church is so unique in the best way, the staff are super friendly and good at their jobs, and the food was all delicious! I got the blackened chicken pasta, and while it was more like a grilled chicken than fully blackened it was still very yummy. My aunt got the fisherman's pie and loved it, and my parents both got the fish and chips which they also enjoyed! I will definitely be coming here again the next time I want to go somewhere with a fun Irish vibe. I will say, and this is no fault of the restaurant, that while there is outside seating it isn't very appealing since there's a very loud car wash across the street. So if you're the type who wants to dine outside, just keep that in mind! read more

I've been meaning to make it into Conroy's for the longest time, and we ended up stopping in on a Saturday afternoon. The interior has a moody vibe to it, which you wouldn't be able to tell from the outside but it is a nice surprise when you walk in. On Saturday they offer all day $5 Mimosas and Bloody Mary's, which how could you go wrong with that? I chose the fish and chips for my lunch and shared a side salad. Portions are HUGE and the food is delicious. You can arrive hungry and leave full with leftovers. The service was quick, attentive, and nice. Will be returning soon! read more

I liked the warm, inviting interior and the somewhat unique menu featuring Irish dishes during my dine-in lunch visit. My tuna melt sandwich with choice of side ($14) was served just ten minutes after I ordered at the table, where the service was polite and attentive. The sandwich was delicious, and the slaw was pretty tasty. The interior had an Irish pub feel with wood tones, a mix of booths and tables and background music with a good variety of genres. The menu included Irish dishes, appetizers, salads, soups, sandwiches, burgers and pizza. They also offered a lunch special and daily food and drink specials. The full bar included 12 beers on tap. Take. My. Money. This is my first time eating here since the change of ownership. It's not exactly cheap and the service is slow (they are understaffed), but boy is it great! I don't drink and given the amount of alcohol and size of the menu, I expected average food, or maybe somethinf akin to Ironhorse Grill down the block--which isn't bad. I was pleasantly surprised. My veggies were definitely fresh, the meat tender, the gravy delicious. The french fries are excellent, meaty pub fries too. Check it out! read more

We dined at Conroy's Restaurant yesterday and had a very mixed experience. I ordered the sausage rolls, and the sausage links initially came out extremely overcooked--so hard I couldn't even cut them with a butter knife. They genuinely looked like they had been microwaved far too long. I showed our waitress, and to her credit, she replaced them. The second order was much better and finally edible. Unfortunately, the service overall was very disappointing. We went long stretches--sometimes 10-15 minutes--without seeing any staff at all, despite the restaurant not being busy. We even discussed leaving multiple times because of how inattentive the service was. There was also no apology from management or any offer to adjust the bill after the issue with the food, which was frustrating. That said, the atmosphere was good, and once we did receive our entrées, the food itself was good. However, the lack of service and attentiveness really overshadowed the positives. With better service, this place could be a great spot, but as it stands, it has a lot of room for improvement. read more

The food is really quite good, and they have some good daily specials (although, even though it says daily special, it might only be good during happy hour...not worded well on the menu?). The service can be hit and miss. I consider myself to be a very good customer, low maintenance, polite and appreciative. While you never know what people are going through, in the service industry, you should always treat customers with respect unless they don't deserve it. I don't appreciate feeling like I'm bothering the server or being ignored. I'll likely go back to hang with friends, but service should always be the top focus. It makes up for many other things. Also, the "smell" seems to be coming back. I fear in the hotter months it might get worse....hope not! read more

We have been to all of the Conroys in KC area. The Overland Park is very well staffed but the bar area has excessive employees hanging around and not doing much but talking at the reception area. After being seated by whom I thought was our server we were pretty much ignored. Had to get up and ask for water again after I had previously asked who I though was our waitress just keep walking past. The food is so amazing and everything I have ever had there is a 5 star rating!! But the OP site leaves much to be desired for service. This is not the first time this has happened. The Conroys on 95th and Stateline in Leawood have a lot fewer employees. Maybe Mr Conroy can send some of the excessive team to the sites where their help is needed. read more

Finally the smell has been lifted! Cool setup for the bar, the food was better than average bar food. The location is a little wonky and there are plenty of stairs there. So after a couple beers you may want to have a coffee before navigating the stairs. The bar is neat i think. I'm surprised there is less regulars for the bar. This is a unique building (old church) for dining. There are private rooms, open dining, and a bar. Tastefully decorated. Very attractive. The 1/2 reuben sandwich with salad looked like a child's meal. Nothing to get excited about taste wise. I have never paid so much money for such a small meal. I'd say it was double the price it should have been. The waitress was excellent, but there weren't many customers at lunch time. Plenty of parking. Clean bathroom.
