This remains my favorite ice cream spot in WNY, and it's officially become an annual tradition after dropping my little guy off at sleepaway camp. They have a great variety on the menu. This was my first time trying the pistachio soft serve; it definitely didn't disappoint! I ordered a baby cone, but they must have know I was kidding because it was huge. I never order cones, but I loved that it brought me back to summers as a kid, where you inhale your ice cream before it trails down your hand. My mom ordered the Dubai Sundae. Since they pre-make them and keep them in the freezer, it was solid. The drive from Hamburg back to East Aurora made for great thaw time. Once it softened to the perfect texture, she transferred it to a bowl so she could mix together all the different flavors and textures. She absolutely loved it! We loved Amsdell! We tried it for the first time this past Saturday because my cousin's food truck was parked there so we were going to get pizza and ice cream. The parking lot wasn't giant, but we were there for a couple hours since it was dinner and dessert for us, and there was never any issues of it being full. There was a fenced off area next to the parking lot that had a bunch of picnic tables, and again, there wasn't a giant amount but they were never full so that was nice. My daughter gets ansty, and after dinner it was nice for her to have the delineated fenced area to run around in, plus there was a big bucket of chalk for kids to use! The ice cream itself was very good! I made my own sundae with Bake Shoppe flavor. They sell both Perry's and Galliker's, which I never had heard of, but that is the brand Bake Shoppe was. It was SO good, a cookie dough flavored ice cream with cookie dough and brownie chunks. The chunks were huge and I loved it. I got hot fudge, whipped cream, and sprinkles. My husband got a smores sundae, which he said was excellent, and my daughter had a small sundae of twist custard. The menu is really big with tons of hard ice cream and they also had 4 types of custard. I thought the prices were very reasonable for the serving size too! I definitely want to go back! read more

I came here quite close to closing time but the girl at the counter still took my order and was kind. I came here to get a peanut butter fudge sundae. I saw it on Facebook and I "needed it." It came in a collector Bills glass. My friend is a big Bills fan so I wanted to give it to her for her upcoming birthday. The sundae inside the glass came to $9.00!!! It was quite pricy but it was worth it. The sundae was so delicious. It was chocolate ice cream with hot fudge sauce, peanut butter sauce, chunks of peanut butter and chocolate with whipped cream on top and a delicious cherry on top of that. I was in heaven. I think they close for the season on Saturday (the 19th) but I'll return next year if I'm in the area and have a hankering for something delicious. read more

I go here more often than I'd like to admit. Their soft serve is really, really good. It's actually a frozen custard. My partner is dairy sensitive, so he eats their dole whip-which is also good. They have many options of hard dip ice cream, and endless combinations for sundaes and whatnot. I am sad when they close for the season. It's 10x better than diary queen. read more

This place has been open for at least 2 seasons already. I remember when it was a bar before but it closed and then opened up as a Ice Cream shop. So one day I told Dan, lets go try that ice cream place on Amsdell & Route 20. So we get there, parking lot is small but manageable in terms of getting in and out. There is no inside seating so its all outdoor. The out door area is pretty nice in terms of sitting out side and cooling down etc. Now for the ice cream the pricing was very high for what you get. I got a smores sundae which pretty much was soft serve, hot fudge, whip cream, Hershey candy and two crackers suck into the ice cream. It was nothing special and it was something I could have easily made at home. Dan got the hot fudge sundae and that too was nothing special. Now for the pricing, its really on the higher end for the amount you get. When I asked Dan, this is all we got for what we paid, thats when I said, we will probably not going to come back. If prices was cheaper or serving portions were more, we would come back, but until then, we will pass on this place when looking for a ice cream place in the summer and in the area. read more

Brand new ice cream shop in Hamburg, visited for the first time tonight. I had the Nutella sundae, and my wife had a medium vanilla cone. The sundae was really good, and had a ton of Nutella. They forgot the macadamia nuts that were suppose to come on top, but no worries. The vanilla cone looked pretty standard. The total for the two was $7, including tax. I thought the prices were pretty good. The owners have done a great job turning the former bar into the ice cream shop. Theres still a bit of work to go, mainly in leveling the seating area ground a bit (watch your step!); but its definitely on its way. With tons of seating, and a very friendly staff, this may become our go to ice cream place! read more

There are a few Ice Cream places in the area, but this is where I will only go since they opened. Their Perry's flavor selection is great ( I love how you can try a flavor before you get a full cone), fun Sundaes ( you have to try the sponge candy one ), aaaaaand they have Dole Whip. If you haven't had Dole Whip try it, there is nothing better. My 4 year old always gets excited and gets the Superhero and then ends up eating 1/2 of my DW cone. I have to also mention that the staff is so nice. Everyone there is pretty much the same since they opened it seems like and that I love. There is not much seating inside, but if it's nice why wouldn't you want to sit outside. It's your standard Perry's ice cream kind of place, but the prices are high ($7 for 2 large cups), there's not nearly enough seating, and the lighting is absolutely horrific! I could barely find my way around the parking lot at night with my lights on. And, you'd better put some lighting around the walkways and stairs that lead up to the order-window before someone falls down and breaks a leg or worse.
