All I can say is yum, yum, yum. We were in need of a casual lunch spot where we could bring our pup before hitting the wilderness for a night of camping. Our original plan fell through because they were not dog friendly, despite having a patio, but shining from across the parking lot was Nick's Feed Your Face. I mean, if the name isn't enough to sell you - I don't know what is! They had a rather extensive sandwich menu with every ingredient under the sun! You're looking at topping and sauce freaks right here so we were sold immediately. I ordered their turkey pastrami + turkey + provolone sub with all of the standard fixins and even added olives. They also have peppers and jalapenos as an add-on option. You can choose 5", 9", or 12" - I chose 9" and definitely should have gotten the 5"! It was HUGE and they definitely don't skimp on the toppings. The bread was soft and airy, just the way we like it. It is a really small shop with no seating inside and 2 small tables outside so I recommend getting it to-go but since we were visiting and HUNGRY, we sat on their patio with the pooch. The only thing missing for me was a larger variety of chips. BUT there is something to be said about keeping things simple, so it wasn't that big of a deal. The sandwiches should be and are the star of the show. We'll be back on our next camping adventure in Prescott! read more

Despite recent challenges, (a truck came through the window) this restaurant was clean and were still able to get sandwiches out with great pace. Dat missing 5th star...ya's see, I love da place...family, local, such a warm, friendly group behind the counter...but I've been spoiled, and lemme remind ya's, as a native NY'r I qualifies as a frikkin' con-OH-sir! The amount of protein layered on a NY hero was a minimum of 1 to 2 inches. Nah, I'm not including Carnegie (RIP), etc, cauz those were a sick minimum of 4 to 5 inches, and included a mortgage payment price. But ya's ate da monster for likes 3 days. So in comparison of my jeen-yus historical backround, I award Nick's FYF the "BEST in YAVAPAI, beyond a shadow of doubt". Yes, that's right! The coveted BIYBASOD trophy! This is a tiny little place that only has about 3 tables, so is primarily a take out sub shop. I'm very picky about my sub sandwiches...I want my bread to be a bit crunchy on the outside and soft inside, I want my meat and cheese sliced right in front of me, I want the veggies to be fresh and not soggy, and I like a little Italian dressing on the side. Subdeliciousness!! That's not a word but it should be for Nick's! Today was our first visit and definitely not our last. Luckily we got there right before the lunch rush and was in and out of there in less than 10 minutes. With 3 yummy subs in hand we took them home. Laid them out on the table and dug in. That's when I remembered to take the pictures! Each sub was masterfully crafted with meats, cheeses and vegetables. My sister got the veggie sandwich and loved it and raves about the wheat French roll! The secret to these delicious subs is the oil and vinegar ratio as their dressing. It's making me drool just reminiscing on the flavor. I'm definitely stealing that idea when I make my own sandwiches at home. ;) Way better than heavy mayo and mustard. Nick's Feed Your Face is a little gem tucked away in Park Plaza. Monday thru Friday, 10-3 they specialize in super fresh, made to order submarine sandwiches. Nothing fancy, there's just a small eat-in area and a couple of tables outside-or you can do carry out. Nick doesn't skimp on the ingredients either...heavenly bread, dad's secret recipes, (from Chicago) all sorts of fresh deli meats, veggies and spreads, OR on the sweet, crunchy grated cabbage used on each sandwich instead of lettuce! Seriously, yummy!!! Add a can of pop and a bag of chips and you've got a meal. We LOVED our lunch...and we'll be back!!! Be advised that Nick's is closed on Saturday and Sunday. read more

This is my go to place when in Prescott. On a recent trip and needing a Nicks sub, a sign on the door stated "out of bread". I went inside and was told they were only making salads. A few months ago I was at my favorite Gear Shop - Granite Mountain Outfitters - and asked one of the owners, Laura, where to get a good sub. No hesitation, no qualifications. She directed me a block over to Nicks and I think I'm hooked. How to build a great sub? Start with fresh, well-made bread. I read here it is a local product, and it was perfect ( I choose the Wheat)! Cabbage. I confess, I was a cabbage-sub virgin. Now I can't figure out why I never had one before. Fresh. Crunchy. Holds up better than lettuce. Sometime I grab one before my trip to the gym and eat it at home a few hours later - still good. A fine selection of meats. Not a build-your-own place, but one with a good selection of subs to choose from, including Tuna and Hummus. When I'm hungry the Belt-Buster hits the spot; when I'm virtuous I am happy with a Turkey sub. Oil and Vinegar and condiments to suit your palate. This place never disappoints! We drive in from California (Prescott people LOVE that) and plan our trip to include a Nick's stop. They use cabbage which just makes the sandwich have more crunch. Their bread is always fresh and yummy. The tomatoes are sliced thick and have the salt and pepper and oil on them so if one happens to slide to the edge of your sandwich and you feel the need to bite it and remove it from the sandwich it's incredibly delicious. read more

Nick's serves just the basics: subs, bagged chips, bottled drinks. They are strictly Mon-Fri lunch hours. There's not much seating, so to me it's basically a take out joint. The bread is great. You can get 6", 9" or 12" size. They use sliced cabbage instead of "crunchy water", which is a nice touch. I always go for the "Depth Charge" and I'm never disappointed. Service is friendly too. They have several meat and cheese combinations. Been eating these wonderful Subs since around 1994 when they were located in a tiny hole in the wall on Montezuma St. If you want one of Prescotts best meals this is the place. My favorite is a Poorboy on wheat.
