Ordered a chicken kabob calzone for delivery. Did not realize they close at 9pm and I put in an order online. So I called and told the girl who answered the phone and was awesome that they could cancel cause I know now that they close at 9. My mistake. But the girl talked to the kitchen and we made a change and got a bbq chicken calzone. Got my order real quick. The delivery driver was so polite and just a cool dude and the woman who answered the phone is a great customer service oriented front of house worker. And the calzone was so good. Be Aware - They Don't Accept Their Own Online Coupons! I wanted to try Nick's because it was close to work. I ordered a small cheese pizza and printed off their online coupon ($3.75 for Mon/Tues). I was told they are no longer accepting the coupons from their own website. REALLLY? I ended up paying full price for the pizza. The pizza itself was just OK - maybe a 5 or 6 out of 10. I had to add Nick's since they're a "given" restaurant for any type of group pizza order at my workplace. I love this restaurant; the people who work there are great and while they're constantly busy they've never made a mistake on any of my orders, they're friendly and willingly go out of their way to help you. Their pizza is traditional Greek style, and they have won some sort of local award for it; it's my favorite for the area. However, my real needed "fix" to go here is their gyros and chicken kebab salads. All three mouthwatering, and a more than welcome pick-me-up in the middle of a long workday. They've also delivered multiple pizzas for my whole department, and they're still hot upon arrival. Nick's is equipped for large orders and if you call ahead you can just pick it up when you walk in. The frazzled driver assured me that, for some reason, the pizza was coming with another driver, who was right around the corner. 15 minutes later, with no sign of the pizza, I called the place and they had NO idea what I was talking about. After explaining three times that they owed me a pizza, the girl asked me, "Sooooo... Do you still want it?" Considering that I had already been charged for it, this was a pretty stupid question. I called for a delivery order and I was RUDELY told that they don't deliver by a young man with a slight accent who answered the phone. They should change their status to NO DELIVERY on Yelp. And they should treat people who call, thinking that they do deliver because Yelp says they do, like human beings. Try... "Sorry, we don't deliver but I would still be happy to take your order if you wish to come here". Just a thought, maybe I am too old fashioned for today's accepted behaviors. [Note: We came here for the gyros, so this review will only be about them, and not Nick's pizza as I have not tried that yet.] We were hungry and about to leave for Thanksgiving break. I've been wanting to try the gyros here for a while after reading Kat H.'s review of them being the "fix" she needs from time to time. They weren't great. They weren't good. There was lettuce. Who puts lettuce in a gyro? The tomato was an unripe color, thinly sliced and kind of limp. There was an absence of tzatziki. The ground lamb was in strips and my boyfriend actually thought that they were just breakfast sausage patties in a weird shape. Twenty minutes after, we were not feeling very well. Maybe this was an off day for Nick's as far as the gyros go? The staff was really nice and friendly. They were chatty amongst themselves and would often speak in a language other than english from time to time (Greek?). I'll definitely go back to try their pizza when I have a couple of friends over next time, but I won't be coming back for a gyro. read more

We have gotten Nicks several times before for takeout but I was not sure how it would be during the whole pandemic. We had it delivered tonight and took advantage of a great special offer on the pizzas. Being the pessimist that I am - I expected that with that great of a deal, their pizza covering would not be as generous. I could not have been more wrong! The food was as good as always - with the recommendation that we reheat the food when it's takeout during the pandemic, pizza was the easiest food that I could think of to reheat after delivery. Very friendly. Great roast beef sandwiches (I alway get at least one Jr with every order ). Chicken kabab salad and steak tip salads have plenty of meat. The "wild west side" pizza is AMAZING. I am very impressed with the pastrami sub, it is top shelf pastrami. Also, the "chicken breast club" sandwich is amazing and comes with your choice of fries. The OLD Nick's had the tastiest, cheesiest pizza with a sauce that was just sweet enough. And their kabob salad was second to none. Tonight, we ordered and what we received didn't even resemble the "old faith" pizza place I've grown to love. Very tasty food, although I did have a bad experience. My coworkers and I have been there many times. The last, and I do mean last time, two of us had hair in our chicken, broccoli and ziti. When I went over to ask for a new plate, the man was rude and said,"I don't know how there could be hair on the chicken....it's cooked on the grill." Really?! So burnt hair is ok? When my coworker went over, a female staff member told her,"Thats not hair, it's part if the broccoli." Not sure about anybody else, but I've never seen hairy broccoli!! The worst experience ever! These people definitely do not know how to run a business. My first time ever writing a negative review... Even if there's a problem, I always give restaurants a second chance. Everyone can have an off night. This however was the third time we had an issue! Tonight we were promised a 30 minute delivery window, after 45 minutes we called to check on our order, we were told it would be sent out soon! I told the woman on the phone that this was not acceptable and that food was going to be cold. She assured me that it would be hot. She told me that if we lived nearby we would be best off picking it up because they were very busy. When my husband got there to pick up the pizza, it was definitely very cold. When he complained about this, the response he got was that he should try being on their side of the counter! Nice customer service! I have been here multiple times because my family lives close by in south Peabody. I would have to agree with other reviews about the chicken kabob salad it is the best around. Pizza is ok, but I'm not a huge fan of Greek pizza either. The roast beef is comparable to land and sea but in my opinion not as good. I had a turkey club there tonight and it was great, it comes with steak fries and coleslaw, but they were very accommodating when I asked for a side salad instead of coleslaw.
