I've given this pizza shop several chances, but unfortunately the service late at night (usually after 9-10 PM) has been consistently disappointing. Almost every time I order, something is wrong. I've received the wrong food, items have been missing, orders have been cold, or the food hasn't been cooked properly. Some examples: * I ordered a pepperoni pizza and received a plain cheese pizza instead. I called, and they told me they would refund the difference, but I never received the refund. * I ordered a chicken wing dinner with rice pilaf and got chicken wings with French fries instead. * Another time I ordered the same chicken wing dinner with rice pilaf (a nearly $20 meal) and instead received only four pieces of chicken with a large container of rice. Mistakes happen, but this has become a pattern whenever I order later in the evening. The quality and accuracy of the orders drop significantly after a certain time. I hope management addresses the late-night service because it's disappointing to pay for food that repeatedly isn't what was ordered. read more

DO NOT.. I REPEAT.. DO NOT!! order pizza from this place. The pizza is HORRIBLE, I would feed it to a stray dog. I ordered a large 1/2 chz 1/2 pepperoni, it was flooded in grease like they soaked it in oil, they put about 50 pieces of pepperoni that were not cooked into the cheese. I picked up a slice, and the pizza literally flopped, and all of the pepperoni fell off. If I'm lying I'm flying. Pizza was definitely a 0 out of 5.. I also ordered a large steak and cheese lightly toasted with mayo, cooked mushrooms cooked onions.. the sub was 2.5 out of 5. My go to pizza place when i need a meal delivered. I'm a hawaiian pizza lover and can attest that Peter's Pizza makes the best in the area!! Other than the hawaiian, their pizza is pretty good in general. We came in and it was only us around 1230p. Joe was so kind and friendly. He got order in and made it himself, and wow great food! The pizza was overcooked according to him, BUT we loved the taste, and the presentation. He even made us an extra pizza bc he thought it was overcooked. All fresh ingredients. There are a variety of pizzas, sandwiches, noodles to pick from. A couple of people came in and out, Joe did his best to be a great host for Peter's Pizza. There are only 3 tables, but not squished, small place to eat, but again the host, food, and location were great! Food was burned. I had burned, disgusting eggplant parm. My friend had burned , disgusting steak tips. We found them inedible. When I called to tell the business about the food, I was told I "should have ordered earlier ". It was only approximately 2:30 pm. Does that mean their food was old by then? I like to support local businesses. I called up to order a large extra cheese pizza. Not exaggerating, I had to repeat the order 5 times to the surly man. When I get there, an olive pizza is waiting for me. The employee insisted that the "manager" said I ordered an olive pizza. After explaining, the employee was nice enough to make me a new one without telling the manager. I appreciate that (hence the two stars), but the pizza was ordinary and bland. A lesson hard learned. I think my neighbor's once told me not to ever order from here, but I have been home, sick with a head cold for 4 days and finally regaining my appetite. I wanted a gyro. They came up on a search and I checked out the menu. They also have roast beef which my boyfriend wanted. Woohoo. The picture of their roast beef sandwich looks like the traditional New England roast beef sandwich with cheese and red sauce on it so we ordered that with extra cheese and extra sauce. I ordered the Gyro with Tzatziki whish it says is served with a side salad...What we got. A roast beef sandwich with extra cheese, no sauce, but mayonnaise on each bun. Ok that does not belong on a roast beef sandwich in any area of the country, but especially not here. Had to wipe it off and add pickles so it wasn't so dry and flavorless. The Gyro dinner with salad had no salad. It is a gryo with about a pint of rice under it....No Tzatziki sauce at all. They did however include a side of greek dressing and side of teriyaki sauce. With tip $28 of nothing wanted. I haven't tried their pizza, but I am hoping they are at least good at that, and maybe take all the other fails off the menu. read more

PISSED. Me and my boyfriend have been eating here for years. We've been noticing it's decline lately. Tonight I wanted to get delivery from them. My boyfriend reminded me that they have been really disappointing lately. I insisted and it just arrived. I love this place and have been going for years. My parents used to always get pizza from them when I was younger. As I grew up I branched out to other shops around Saugus but as those would decline I find myself at Peters every time. I'm more of a calzone guy than a pizza guy and in a VERY blue moon I'll treat myself to a buffalo chicken, pepperoni and bacon calzone(don't worry I'm not huge) but if I had a last meal request it would be that, it's really good but not for an every weekend type meal for obvious reasons. Doesn't deserve a star at all. The way I, as a customer, have just been treated BY THE OWNERS...I am in total shock. My boyfriend and I called in a pickup large teriyaki steak tip sub. Got all the way home and it was a steak bomb with peppers mushroom and all that. Mind you we've ordered the same thing here multiple times. I called back and politely told her we had gotten the wrong order and asked if we could come get the right sub. She said sure no problem. Then I got a call back, from who happened to be the owners wife, she told me that I was wrong we ordered a steak bomb and she repeated the order back (which she did not and never has the few other times I've ordered there). She was immediately extremely rude and unprofessional. Again I was very polite saying I know what we ordered its no big deal I just would like to exchange the sub for the right one. In which she replied "you know what then come give me the sub and take your money back" and hung up on me. I walked in and the money was waiting on the counter. I started off by saying I'm sorry I didn't know it would be such a big deal to exchange the wrong order for what I had originally ordered. She said no I can't order from them again. I was in total shock and now her husband was behind her YELLING AT ME about how much a bag of steak cost and how I messed up now he has to pay for it. I said this must be a joke not sure how they're still in business treating people like that. Moral of this story is I know what we ordered. She did not repeat it back like she said she did. I get the feeling by the way her husband acted that she would have been in a lot of trouble for messing up our order and must have been scared to admit it. This place has the best steak tip kabob salads. The salad is fresh, with red onion, tomato, carrots, cucumber, Kalamata olives, and plenty of feta. I would honestly rate no stars. After ordering delivery the delivery refused to get out of the car and me walk up to his car to retrieve my food because I wouldn't give him no more than $2 for a $15 order and traveling less than a mile. I called the restaurant and instead of the manager/owner apologizing he started screaming at me telling me I should have given him more than a $5 tip. Then he stated his drivers only earn no tip. I explained that isn't my issue and he didn't care to rectify my unsatisfactory and called me stupid. Why anyone would order from the usual chain joints is something that eludes me when, for the same price or less, get such sublime goodness in such short order from a local place. So my wife and I have ordered from Peter's since we moved to Saugus. The food and service have always been good. That changed tonight. We ordered through the Yelp Eat 24 App. We in the past have had a few issues with them receiving the order. I think they get faxed and sometimes they just don't go through, which I understand the process seems a bit out dated it it's the process. Every time we have called in the past we have been treated professionally and they have always got the order to us quickly. On this night though, I called to check on the order. I explained to the person who answered the phone that we put the order through the app and were just checking on it. I was told abruptly that i would have to call Eat 24 and talk to them, they received no orders from them. There was nothing the restaurant could do. I said in the past they helped me resolve these issues but again I was abruptly directed to call the company, she ended the call with a sarcasm dripping "have a nice night," and hung up. Called the app they directed me to call the restaurant. I called the restaurant back and the same person answered. I explained to her that the customer service for the app told me to call the restaurant. Before I could finish I heard her say to what I am assuming was a manager, "they called Eat 24 and now they are calling back." The phone was passed to two different people and finally the voice I recognized as the manager got on the phone. He said to me that he was extremely busy and he didn't have time to talk to me. He did not have my money he only gets it once a month I needed to call the company. I tried to explain to him that I have ordered from them a lot in the past and have never received this type of service before. He asked me if I wanted the food or the money, at this point I obviously just wanted a refund. He again informed me to call Eat 24 back and to stop bothering him. It was a busy Friday night and I completely understand that, I'm not an unreasonable person. If they simply explained they were having issues with the App I would have understood and had no issue with waiting longer for the food. The attitude I received was just uncalled for. Obviously I will not be giving them any more business, which I'm sure isn't a big deal for them but it crosses a place off my list I enjoyed. Now unfortunately I can not justify giving them any more money. I also admit I probably gave a little bit of an attitude back to them, but I just couldn't believe how they handled the situation. Too bad because I really liked the place. I called Eat 24 back and received a full refund, they also confirmed that the restaurant confirmed the order, not sure wha happened after that. read more
