So I haven't been to Nicky's in over a decade. I don't see the usual people working there anymore. Anyway, two plain slices for $9.00?!?? The only thing I can say is that they were sized pretty good. Other than that, . The cheese seemed to taste......fake/cheap and overall the pizza had no real flavor and soggy. The dough seemed underbaked. I forced myself to finish the 1st slice and while the 2nd tasted different , I could not finish it. It used to be okay, then for a brief moment in 2025 it was great...they started cooking the pies longer. Now, I wouldn't touch it...you're actually better off with a DiGiorno in this instance. A complete disappointment with whatever ownership took over. Save yourself the agony. read more

Ordered some food right after long days work. Pizza had a nice crust, crispy and light.Toppings were fresh.The spinach calzone was jam packed with and the sauce had justennoguh acid to break through all that cheese well. The plain cheese calzone didn't fair too well. My husband and son split it and it was just ok. The only issue was after i picked up my order & half way home ,i get a call that a item was not given. I'm not a fan of Nickys Pizza. I've tried the cheese and pepperoni pizzas probably 20 times over the past three years due to events and it's never been something I like or enjoy eatung. I don't usually finish the slice. Fast food pizza tastes better for a much cheaper price. The chicken wings are good though. So we recieved a $24 coupon dinner for 4. "Why not", I exclaimed with nervous enthusiasm. We picked up the food that smelled great but, that's as far as it went. I'm not sure what they did to the chicken, but several pieces were inedible, I mean, it was literally like chewing beef jerky. Flavor was fine, bit wow. We get family meals and the chicken Marsala was jammed with tender chicken breast. The penne vodka one is great too. They are all good and my family of four gets 3 meals. Nicky's used to be the place to go but a recent Chicken parm dinner was possibly the worst I have had. After requesting and getting a replacement order the dish was the same. Chicken was thin, overcooked and mostly inedible. Pasta and knots were good but the chicken parm was not. It is close and convenient but I will drive farther for my next takeout order. read more

My husband and I ordered a mushroom pizza and calamari from Nicky's tonight because we have had decent food from them in the past - not so for tonight. Yes, they delivered promptly but that is the only good thing that I have to say about them. The calamari was not crisp or hot and the sauce that came with them was tasteless to the point where I could not eat either. There were canned mushrooms on the pizza, but as if that was not enough, only one half of the pizza had any mushrooms on it. The pizza was pretty tasteless as well, and I had to add a variety of seasonings from my pantry to make it edible. Ricky's is off of our list for pizza! read more

Just ordered my first chicken parmesan from Nicky. Been in quarantine since March 15. Haven't gone shopping., . I give Nicky a 10+& the young boy a big 10+ also. This review is not about the quality of the food or the service. It is the safety of its staff and customers. They have very little safety procedures. None of the staff wear masks. They do not to encourage customers to wear masks or distance themselves from other customers. For that reason it will be a very long time before I purchase their product. read more

I come here on my lunch break for some slices when the mood strikes me. Plain slices are huge and delicious! A bit more expensive than NJ slices, but hey they are huge! Had the buffalo chicken slice and wasn't too crazy about it. It seemed like it was lacking something I couldn't put my finger on. Not horrible but not worthy of me trying it again. I tried the ziti slice and fell in love! The dough is thicker than the normal slice. Plus you have the ziti on top. Definitely a best seller there. I got the second to last slice and the next customer quickly grabbed up the final slice. This shows me others like it too. Haven't tried things other than the pizza so I can't comment on that yet. I also like the old school arcade machine. They have a series of classic games on there to chose from. Must note you can't play two player because one of the coin slots is jammed. Oh well. I came here for lunch today for the first time. We did not eat the pizza so I can't review that but, it looked really good. I had a hot Veggie wrap and it was delicious. The kids had Turkey Sandwiches and my friend had a salami sandwich. The service was great and the workers were all so friendly. I'm surprised with the negative reviews. This place is kind of hidden so you may not know it is here :) . It is next to 7-11 and all the other places in the shopping center are now gone. I was a big fan of Nicky's and it has been my go to delivery place since I moved here in 2000. I am fairly sure this is under new management at least in the last few years. It has gone down hill bad. Even worse the prices have gone sky high. We used to love the wings here but have had some recent bouts of stomach pains after eating them. They have also been overcooked and over fried till dry. Ordered a Chicken Parm, Slice of Sausage, Wings and a plain salad and it came to 40 dollars! The pies are not bad but the slices just sit all day and are disgusting. The prices are higher than others in the area. Even the salad was borderline disgusting. Ironically, I would prefer the pizza at Dominos any day to what we have been getting at Nicky's lately. I'd love to see them succeed and pull this place from the abyss but they need to cut their prices and improve the quality, freshness and cleanliness of their food and establishment. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. We ordered a large order of food and every single person was left disappointed by their meal. Their sauce literally has no taste. And that's not an exaggeration. We ordered a large salad and got a small and when we called back and asked for a large they rudely said "no I'll bring another small one". Giving three stars only because I didn't try the food. They have a display case for the pizza, but they keep their pizza on a rack by the back door so you can't see the pizza or what the choices are so you have to ask. If I'm ordering a slice of pizza that's going to be reheated I need to see what it looks like. I went in around 7ishy, it is kinda late, but the pizza places down the road still had theirs in the case. Not sure if I'm willing to go back to try the actual food. Great neighborhood gem. They are very friendly in a NY way. Deliveries are fast, food is hot. Variety of items available from the take out and delivery menu. This neighborhood pizza joint is my go to when I'm disparate for a great pepperoni slice. Their Sicilian slices are so good I usually order a whole pie. I've heard many mixed reviews about Nicky's so I figured I'd give them a shot. Well, much to my disappointment it was disgusting! Walking in to Nicky's I was hit with crumbs and dirt and used napkins in the floor- it just felt dirty, grimy, and run down and grossed me out from the start. The workers were rude and acted like I was bothering them from texting or their private conversations. Their pizza smelled good on the way home and was excited to have it! Unfortunately, that was the only good part. The crust had flour or something all over the bottom of it and their cheese wasn't that good old-fashioned chewy cheese. I have been disappointed the last 2 times I ordered sandwiches. I ordered a wrap and a couple of the ingredients listed on the menu, were not in the wrap. Next time I ordered a sandwich. I am surprised by some of the reviews for Nicky's. I've been going here for years and have never had bad food from here. I'll admit that the people that work here are a bit strange and seem like they hate their jobs, but I've never had any problems with them either. The guys they have working here now are a lot friendlier than the guys they use to have working there a few years ago. Like I said, I've never had a bad thing here. The slices are pretty big and you get what you pay for. For pizza, they have hands down the best Buffalo Chicken and Chicken Parmesan slices I've ever had. They are perfect. The Buffalo slice has a ton of chicken on it and just enough spice to not be overwhelming. It goes perfect with blue cheese on the side. The Chicken Parmesan slice also has a lot of chicken on it, but I love the sauce and the dollops of ricotta and red sauce they spot all along the pie. Other worthy slices to try are the Penne Ala Vodka slice and their stuffed slices (once again, I love the Buffalo Chicken one.) Nicky's pizza crust is different from other pizza parlors I've been to. It's hard to describe, but I guess you could say it's got a slight buttery flavor to it. It's just a hint of taste and it makes the pizza taste that much better. I don't know if anyone else actually notices that, but it's kept me coming back for a long time. Another interesting pie to try at Nicky's is the Chicago Deep Dish pie. It's a little expensive, but that is one huge pizza. Not many places around here offer Chicago style pizza so as soon as i saw it, I jumped in and bought it and I didn't regret it. I'll usually do half plain and half mushroom with extra tomato sauce. Like the Chicago Deep Dish pie, they also do stuffed pizza's with whatever toppings you want in. I believe it's about $26, but that too is a giant pizza and extremely heavy. Last time I got it, they couldn't close the lid. For the most part though, I usually stick to my beloved Buffalo Chicken and Chicken Parmesan pies, they are the best! They offer pan pizza which makes the crust a little thicker and that is especially good with the Penne Ala Vodka pie. A side from Pizza, they have your typical Italian fare like pasta dishes and they branch off with burgers, fries and of course hero sandwiches. My wife loves their Italian Hero. The sandwiches are really big and they don't go cheap on the cold cuts like so many pizza parlors who put a few slices of each cold cut and call it a day. These sandwiches are big and they earn their Hero Shop title in their name. Do yourself a favor and pick up a specialty pie of any kind, especially a Buffalo Chicken or Chicken Parmesan pie. I've tried various pizza places in the area, and Nicky's is the best I've had. The place is kind of a dive, but I just pick up or have it delivered. They have lots of different kinds of pizzas, and I've liked them all. Mind you--this isn't fancy pizza, this is local take-out. If you attend or have ever attended Ramapo College, chances are you have eaten Nicky's Pizza at a club meeting or other school event. In that case, you also already know how bad the pizza is. As a freshman, I went to club meetings because I was enticed by the idea of free pizza, which is exactly what it's supposed to do. However, I quickly realized that every single club meeting I attended ordered pizza from the exact same pizzeria, because of how bland and bad tasting it was. It's hard to call a pizza 'bad' because even bad pizza is tolerable to eat, but Nicky's Pizza really is terrible. The school doesn't trust each individual club and organization with the money allocated to it, so all purchases, including food, must get approval. They essentially have an "vendor" agreement with Nicky's. A club orders pizza or whatever else is on their menu through the pre-approved "vendor", it gets delivered, and the school reimburses them later, in a lump sum I assume. If you want food from somewhere else, you are stuck paying for it yourself, which is not usually feasible for college students. Literally the only reason anyone eats this pizza is because it's free. If it wasn't for all the business they get from the College, Nicky's Pizza would have been out of business a long time ago. I don't eat the pizza anymore at any of the meetings I attend, despite it being free, after I got sick eating it last time. Regardless of that, I wouldn't want to eat it anyway. read more

Food used to be good. I stopped in last week at around 9:15 PM. I got four slices of pizza, two with mushrooms and two plain to go. I don't live far and when I got home and took the first bite it was like burnt cardboard, had to have been sitting out for hours and re-heated. The crust was so hard you could not bite into it. I used to go to this place frequently, but my most recent visit was my last. There were no customers when I walked in to grab some slices to go. One employee was looking toward me, so I said hello, and he completely ignored me because his focus was gazed up at the TV screen above me. It took almost a full minute for someone to ask me what I needed. Later, as I was waiting for my pizza, a loud and obnoxious employee was ranting about something, dropping a lot of "f bombs" in almost every sentence. The food has also considerably taken a downward spiral and everything tastes bland, but even worse are the disrespectful employees.
