My overall experience at this salon was exceptional. From start to finish, everything exceeded my expectations. I am thrilled with how my hair always turns out! I can't believe it's even taken me this long to write a review!!! The cut is always precise, and the stylist, Diana is perfect. It's evident that she takes her time and pays attention to detail to achieve my desired look each and every time. I also took my 5 year old daughter for a cut and style today which Ambar did on her and needless to say, my daughter was delighted as I was with her results. If you're the type of person who also loves a top notch experience, then this is THE place to go. It's super trendy with a vibrant atmosphere. Nicole Rose Salon is the absolute BEST in the game. Nicole has her salon STACKED with absolute hair MASTERS! I switched hairdressers soooo many times before I met Ambar. She has been doing my color for the past 5 years and she gets it right every single time. I don't even tell her what I want when I come in, I let her just work her magic. My hair lasts for months and people say it still looks good. I just recently had Emily do my air touch balayage and oh my gosh she is a goddess. She was so precise about making sure the color right, but also making sure that it was healthy! She used techniques that I've never seen before that absolutely blew my mind. She is seriously phenomenal and would recommend her to anyone looking to have BOMB hair for the holidays. This is by far the BEST salon I have ever visited. I have visited other salons to dye and cut my hair. But Nicole Rose takes the win! I've been visiting this salon for 5 years!! Disclaimer: I started writing this review in Feb of 2020 right before the pandemic. I saved it, didn't post it because I wanted to see how long it took for my hair to come back to normal: My beautiful hair is destroyed. Nicole came highly recommended as a colorist. I was unhappy with my colorist and with the person who cut my hair so I decided to make a switch. I had two color appointments with Nicole and two haircuts with another stylist. My first color was not complicated and I had to return for a redo because the it did not cover. Ok. No big deal. My first haircut was fantastic. When I returned for the color fix, the salon was gracious and the second try was better. The next color appointment was more aggressive but I had faith as I have seen Nicole's work and have always heard wonderful things about what she could do. As I am not going to go into specific details because I want this horror to end here with this review. Let's just say I came into the salon with a Lob and wanted to go lighter with a darker root. I ended up getting a one color process and a horror show of a haircut. My hair chopped and layered and fried to the point that 6 weeks later it's still falling out when I blow dry it. Now, I called the salon shortly after this happened and they asked me to come in and said they would have a look at my hair and that I may need a conditioning treatment (i stopped writing this review in Feb of 2020) It's now 2023 and my hair is finally back to being healthy. It literally took almost 2 1/2 years for it to come back. I spent about $2000 on expensive shampoos and haircuts to fix the mess they caused. I was told that the integrity of my hair has been destroyed and I cannot ever go back to being blonde. Please be very careful when choosing a colorist or salon. Called weeks ago to request an appointment one hour before opening time for a special event on the day after Thanksgiving. They told me they need to confirm with stylist but it should not be a problem. Fast forward to a week before the event, and I call to confirm. They say they need to confirm with stylist, but shouldn't be a problem. Two days before the event, they still hadn't called me, so I call and am told they cannot do the appointment. Claimed they were going to call me. When was that going to happen? It's 4 pm on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving and the appointment requested was for Friday morning at 9 am? Amazingly I was able to get an appointment at another salon, and will NOT ever bring business to Nicole Rose. Unprofessional. Disorganized. Poor communications. Perhaps the stylists are great, but whoever answers their phones and manages schedules is making them lose customers. read more

The receptionist who took my call was bubbly and oh so nice. I wanted to book at 12:30/1pm and she offered 12:45 how perfecto is that? Rachelle took me under her blower and did a fabulous job giving me a look that no one had ever managed with my bangs that are growing out. Second time I phoned same sweet disposition and to boot I was needing a blow out on a Wednesday and that's a day where blow outs are 20% off. So I got a nourishing treatment and ended up paying less. How perfecto is that? This place has all five star reviews for a reason. Good vibes, great staff and stylists, great products and lovely salon. I'm coming back for a keratin, color and my regular once a month cut. I'm sure all are great but Rachelle is Fabulous and terrific both. Update is that I made an appt with Nicole for color and showed up only to be told 10 minutes into the wait that I was going to be with someone (who I didn't know). I give 2 stars because Nicole did try to fix my color every time I came in and told her I wasn't happy or cared for my root color. I kept coming back to this salon because every now and then Nicole would get my color right but, there were more times she didn't get it right. I can't believe she would charge someone for the color job I got done here last. I did come in a week later to speak to Nicole about my color and she had no time at all to talk to me. She knew I was there, the receptionist told her I was there, she made eye contact with me several times but, not even a hello. I won't be coming back, I can't keep paying for yellow roots. That's ridiculous. Update ** I decided to stop bleaching my hair and went back to my natural root color. Now that my color is natural, it shows all the breakage in my hair from the bleach Nicole used. Being blonde you can't really see the breakage but, now that my color is dark brown. Blow outs for me are always a hit or miss for me. Most of the time I hate what the hairstylists does, because they never listen to what I want but this time was different. I needed a last minute blow out for a photoshoot for the next day. This hair salon is in the same building that I work in, and I always see how busy they are. So I decided to go because why not! When I walked in the Receptionist was so friendly and welcoming, I needed a 9am blowout the next day which they were able to do, Boom off to a great start! The next day came along I arrived a little bit early and the receptionist offered me a tea or coffee while I waited. Michael was doing my hair, he came on time which was great and he was so friendly. As he was shampooing my hair, I showed him a look I was going for and he knew exactly what to do. It took about an hour (I have a lot of hair) and the end result was exactly what I wanted. UPDATE on my previous review: So After i wrote my first review i received an email from Nicole Rose offering me a redo of my whole head of extensions for free. This is nice if they would have offered it the first time I complained but whatever. i called and made an appointment and purchased new hair. Well when i got there i was told its ok and they were just going to move up my old ones. i said i was offered a new whole head of extensions but i was told no when i got there. My hair in between the extension ad my head was already knotting because they fell so much since the last time they were fixed, i told her i wanted them out and new ones in. She INSISTED on moving them up. so she moved up the knotted extension tracks back up on my head and added beads. This same night i bought a bottle of oribe leave in conditioning spray that was around $40 and while i love the product when i got home and opened the box it was literally had spilled out and all over the bottle and box. Gross. Obviously not even a month later my -moved up- extensions liiterally dropped 5 inches. i went somewhere else to get them fixed and when she removed them they were so knotted and matted from being moved up at nicole rose that i lost HALF OF MY HAIR.The girl doing my hair was scared she might have to SHAVE MY HEAD because of the matting. This has NEVER happened to me and I've had extensions since i was 17. literally i wouldn't go to this place again if it was FREE or SOMEONE PAID ME. its soooo overpriced, and there are way better places on long island and manhattan that won't ruin your hair. Just got the legit worst blowout of my life. The stylist did nothing I asked for and it took 1 hour. The stylist would not stop talking and barely focused on the blow out. Prior to the wash we discussed tight waves. This is what i ended up with by the time i got home 10 minutes later. Honestly, I'm annoyed. I needed a haircut and I always drive by and see this salon and decided to give it a try and made an appointment. The woman that was scheduled right before me was 20 mins late and came in and so the stylist took her and had me wait the 20 mins while she got her coloring. So I'm sitting there in shock because I had somewhere to be that day (hence why I was getting my hair cut in the first place) amazed that they actually let the woman proceed after she was that late and held up the next customer. So right off the bat, I'm annoyed. The stylist that cut my hair was sniffling the entire time and even used her shirt to wipe her snot away. I was afraid I'd get sick from all her sneezing and blowing her nose and then touching my hair. I was mortified. Idk if she was hungover or had allergies but it was so clear that she was a complete mess. Lastly, I wanted a haircut, not a trim and I'm really not picky when it comes to my hair.. I just wanted it shorter for the summer and to take some length off. She took like barely a quarter of an inch off. I kept saying you can take some more but she just proceeded to continue. I literally have never been so disappointed. I usually sit down tell, them to cut, style it how they like and go on my way. Never again. I paid $100+ after tipping stylist and wash lady and I barely even got a cut. Crazy. read more

Sadly, this place is not good! The first time I went I asked for face framers... I was SUPER clear with the directions and showed pictures. Instead I got a head full of highlights... the highlights were very stripy and orange. I asked the colorist to fix it. She put gloss in it and it turned my hair ashy and greenish. I left. The knew I was not happy at all. They offered to do a redo free of charge. I was there from 10:30 am and did t leave until 4 pm. It was bad. I was not even offered any thing to drink or eat. Again they knew I was upset and my hair was bad. I came in to get it fixed and it was worse. I have red/ orangy stripes. Ugh. Plus the colorist never checked on me and didn't even blow my hair out. Horrible customer service after she messed my hair up the first time. I will not be returning here. Horrible colorist and horrible customer service. read more

I've been coming to Nicole Rose Salon for about 5 years. I am never disappointed. The customer service is exceptional. Their cappuccinos are delish lol and everyone is so friendly. You definitely get a sense of family when you are in their presence. Nicole is always so sweet and gracious. Kat is AMAZING. She is patient, honest, helpful, and talented. She will give you honest advice and recommendations when it comes to what you are getting. She is a perfectionist which I appreciate because I want to know that I am getting the best service I can get when it comes to my hair. All of the girls are so talented and wonderful. I recently got the Magic Sleek treatment and I've never been happier with the results. My hair feels so soft, shiny, healthy, and sleek even after washing it and air drying it. I LOVE NICOLE ROSE SALON! The only thing I don't like is that a blow out is not included in any service except keratin or magic sleek. One time, I had to blow out my own hair which was very wet after being washed. I left the salon frizzy bc I honestly suck at blow drying my own hair lol I wish this policy was different. This salon is overpriced compared to the average salon, which may be because of the neighborhood the salon is located. The lady in the front is very sweet, the salon is very pretty, and they provide coffee to make you feel at home. I showed Nicole pictures of exactly what I wanted. I had black hair with only ends lightened. I wanted light blond balayage. She only glanced at the picture. I was not inform from before that in order for me to achieve the blond color I wanted in the picture, my hair would need to be processed more than once which would cost more. I was informed this after I went through one process of lightening my hair once and saw the results, which cost $500. I wouldn't mind paying this price if I received something close to what I wanted or at least was told what was achievable before beginning the process. There were also several detail things I requested which I did not receive. Nicole put foil highlights on my hair but charged me for balayage because end of my hair was already lightened (balyage cost about $150 more than highlights). Also, I did not receive the soft root look that a balayage is supposed to have. My highlights all started at the same area in the same way. I looked like I had thin strips of ash blond green tone color hair, which I had to correct on my own. Was very sad. read more

A loyal customer of NuBest, I won a gift certificate for 4 blowouts at the Nicole Rose salon at our PTA fundraising dinner. Took myself and my mother in this past weekend to use the gift card. I should have known right off the bat when the owner and the woman at the front desk unprofessionally started whispering in each other's ears while we sat there waiting to be helped that this was not going to be a good experience. We were seated in another waiting area for 10 minutes before the woman at the front desk told me that the gift certificate had already been used by someone else. What a joke. They obviously DID not want to honor the gift certificate and gave me some superfluous name of someone who had already utilized the gift card( maybe they need to update their shoddy system instead of telling people gift cards have already been used). I was ready to walk out and head out to our usual salon, the minute they heard NuBest they jumped up and the owner comes and goes ohhhh we are going to honor it don't worry we will EVEN give you the extra two blowouts that are leftover (which by the way i didn't even bother asking for because I would never go back). Luckily, our stylist Chantel was AMAZING. Aside at being so good at what she does, she was sweet and kind and her work spoke for itself. I wish she worked elsewhere, i definitely would be a returning customer. Professionalism and customer service is key in any industry, if you think anyone is coming in to hustle you out of a $40 blowout in a Manhasset salon, you need to rethink who you're servicing. read more
