Went here last night after having some beers. I went with #13 machaca combination plate and it's really pretty good but not what I expected. All combos come with rice and beans, and the machaca was mixed with green peppers, tomatoes, onions, eggs and cheese. I like how fresh it is but I was expecting straight up meat like the delicious and tender machaca I've had elsewhere. My partner got the #2, the taco tostado combination and and found both disappointing but enjoyed the rice and beans. Combo plates were expensive and overall it was just okay. read more

I usually get the shredded beef tacos, they're not listed on the menu but I ordered them the first time I went in and they never even blinked, not then or since. Sometimes they have shrimp or fish tacos with cabbage, different and refreshing. Breakfast burritos are always a good choice, anytime. Quick service. Good prices. Yikes. This location was terrible. I ordered the beef tacquitos, and the corn tortilla was still raw and falling apart inside. The location itself has the same decor of other Nico's locations, though it was a tad dirtier and smaller. The prices are on the lower side, but I definitely wouldn't recommend this place to anyone else. read more

Fast service, good prices, really tasty food! I got the carnitas burrito. It took less than 5 minutes to get, and tasted really good, but a little towards bland. The quality of the meat made up for it. The vegetable ingredients aren't heated, so it will become cool pretty fast. I recommend paying with cash, their card reader is slower than most. read more

We were in the area looking for a bite and saw Nico's had pretty good yelp reviews so we stopped in. It's a small, quick serve, Mexican restaurant and damn is it good!! The prices are pretty cheap, we each had a burrito, I had a vegetarian and he had a Carne asada. These burritos were HUGE, they filled us almost all day! It was definitely the best burrito I've had. The #1 Breakfast burrito (bacon, eggs potatoes and cheese) is why I come but decided to split the burrito today so ordered a carne asada taco to make up for it. The carne asada was just average, boiled meat with no sear or crunch for flavor and it is served with guac and pico. I got both on the side. The portion of meat was excellent as was the taco size but without the flavor in the meat, had to get extra limes to make it pop. Carne asada is usually cooked with a certain amount of searing to impart a charred flavor but not here. I will stick with breakfast burritos here and make the trek to Taco Juanitos for their great carne asada tacos. read more

There are plenty of Mexican eateries out there, but this is my favorite. Okay, maybe not my 1 and only, but I would eat here 1 meal a day if I could (but I can't, because what I order and add to my food is horribly unhealthy...) Last year, I would grab 1 of their MASSIVE breakfast burritos every couple of months on my way to work, and those days were definitely my most memorable days working at that office job. For starters, I remember the amazing flavors that these days brought me. Egg, steak, chorizo, cheese, bacon, potato, salsa, bea... wait... let me stop right there. Salsa. Yes, the ultimate burrito, taco and pretty much anything else condiment. I LOVE salsa. I love Taco Bell sauce packets, I love Tapatío and I love Nico's green & red salsa cups. Do I love them too much? Yes. Yes I do, because what I remember most about these days at work when I would pick up a massive breakfast burrito was the burning lunch hour... It's not Nico's fault, trust me. Their food is amazing, and their salsa, well... I am proud to say it's still my favorite. However, please, when you decide to add 12+ cups of their delectable devil spit to your meal, think twice. think 2 times. 2 times... number 2..... the "flavor" is alot less enjoyable coming out than when it went it. You want a good breakfast burrito? Go here! There are multiple locations throughout Tucson but this is one of the ones we went to the most. I don't think I ever got anything other then a breakfast burrito. I usually got ham, egg, & cheese...which is sooo good. I got the chorizo, egg, & cheese once but it was just too dry for me. OMG I would eat here every night if I could lol. There are nicos closer to my home but this one is the BEST IN TUSCON. They are very polite, respectful and gracious for your business. This Nico's was my absolute favorite for the best breakfast burrito's for many years. However, the last 3 times I have gone, I can barely find the bacon. The third time I asked them what has happened. I kinda got a non response and my burrito barely had no bacon and the potatoes were sort of raw. Going to have to pass on them for awhile. read more

Oh how I adore Nico's, I've been eating here since I was a kid. And this is just one of those places you must attend when the killer hangover kicks in. Ordered 2 Carnitas burritos.They were the most disgusting thing I've had the pleasure of sticking in my mouth. They were nice and big little did I know this was because they were saving money on trash bags.They were both filled with pork fat not small pieces large under cooked pieces. Would not eat here if it was free. Definitely need better quality control. That is just plain bad cooking skill who knows what else they throw in there. I rate them at 5 WTFs. read more

These were so yummy. The corn tortillas are really good. Carne asada was seasoned to perfection. I ordered ground beef tacos thinking they would also come with soft shells but that was fried. I was disappointed but switched with someone else. They said they were very good as well. read more

The meat in their tacos is usually spot on, but their shells are occasionally stale. For the price point I can't complain too much, since it is fairly cheap. Also, the lady who works the cash register seems to always have a frown and seems put out by having to take your order. read more

I'm giving this 2 stars due to customer service. The employees consistently show up late to work and today it was obvious, that I along with other waiting customers were bothering the employees. There were no apologies for waiting 15 minutes, this goes without anybody even speaking to the waiting customers. There were also no mention of a thank you. The customer service issues do not make it worth the hassle and wait. I will not return to this location due to the repeated lack of customer service and poor attitudes. read more

Make sure if u order a taco you specify rolled or regular taco! I didn't and got the rolled kind which were dry and nasty. However....wife had the beef chimichanga and WOW!!! Amazing! The pulled beef was delicious and the rice and beans tasty and the pico outstanding!!! I'm a huge guacamole lover but the guac was really not that good, just kind of runny and tasteless. read more
