The burrata and prosciutto were great but that artichoke suffle was out of this world good. Then I had the gnocchi and was seriously impressed. We felt like we were back in Italy at times. This cafe is small and the walls are decorated with pictures and paintings of Italy...It gives a nice homey feeling. We very much enjoyed the food here. As a starter we had the mozzarella and prosciutto. We found that dish to be a bit pricey, but it was tasty. We had some wine as well. For entree I chose the pear stuffed pasta and it was delicious. My fiancé had the short rib ravioli and he loved it as well. For dessert we took home a slice of the lemon cake and it was ok - not bad, but not something we would order again. The servers here were friendly and attentive, but it did take a bit long to get our check (just like in real Italy). Overall we very much enjoyed this cafe and the meal. I wish I could give four and a half stars instead of just four. We will definitely be back to try other dishes or maybe the same ones since they were so tasty! We forgot to take pics of our meal (oops). There is a small outdoor patio with seating and the restaurant is in a shopping center with plenty of parking spots! read more

Don't judge a book by its cover: The outside of the place is uninspiring; but inside, the decor is nice and the food is good.

My husband has always said that my lasagna is the best he's EVER had..... better than any store-bought, any friends/family recipe, and better than any restaurant. Ever. Yes it's a special recipe, so I am not surprised that it's the best he's had. Till last night. At Ni.Do, his first mouthful of their lasagne, he nodded thoughtfully and said "it's quite good." then a few minute later, with another mouthful "Actually it's very good." ..... a few minutes later "Hmm, it's excellent in fact." And finally, a few minutes later, very quietly and sheepishly. "I hate to say this, but it's better than yours." !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In disbelief, I had a mouthful and while I wanted to say "are you kidding me? Better than mine??", all I could do is nod and say yes, I agree. It's MUCH better than mine. In fact, that's the best lasagna I've ever had. So there you have it! Not quite a divorce, but definitely a HUGE deal!!!! I won't go on about how charming it is, or what great service there was, etc., you can read all those reviews and trust me - they're spot on. It is FABULOUS. All I can say is that my risotto (I substituted the scallops with mushrooms as I'm not a big fan)... was out of this world. The best risotto I've had since Angelo's in Bermuda - the flavors were incredible, but (and this is important) NOT DERIVED FROM PLUNKING TONS OF SALT INTO THE SAUCEPAN! I couldn't taste any salt, which delighted me - I'm so tired of dishes just being salted to death just to get the flavor.... this was different - it was delicious, unsalty, but full of flavor, creamy, and really quite excellent. We told the owner that he has restored our faith in restaurants, that there actually IS excellence out there (we'd almost given up), and we have found a 5* restaurant with 3 star prices. My only complaint is that they're in Miami - want them to relocate to Fort Lauderdale so we can go once a week!! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, the decor so tasteful, both inside and out. We came here for dinner before seeing a show at the Adrienne Arsht Center and got seated outside relatively quickly. We ordered the tuna tartare and polpo (octopus) salad to start, followed by risotto with scallops and asparagus in a lobster bisque sauce and gnocchi with buffalo mozzarella and basil. The tartare and octopus were just ok...probably not the best choice at an Italian restaurant, but we were fiending for some octopus after having some at a greek place. The risotto had a generous amount of scallops and was good for the first couple bites, but then it got a little too much like flour mixed with water. I also wasn't a fan of the presentation. My bf said his gnocchi was good, but we've both had better. The sauce was a simple tomato with no added flavors. Overall, I wouldn't knock this place off any list and would be willing to try it again, but I'd prefer to try other places first. read more

I really have nothing but good things to say about this place. Good service, relaxed and casual atmosphere, and noticeably above average food. I had their bufula mozzarella with the basil an garlic marinated tomatoes. Very tasty. Some of the better mozzarella I have had, period. I had half of their Classico and half of their siciliano paninis. The first was prosciutto and mozzarella. Classic and tasty. The second was basically a light and flavorful tuna salad with capers. I thought it was a nicely prepared dish. Surprisingly good food for a little, nondescript spot of biscayne. We will be back. read more

Went to Nido this weekend and loved it! The ambiance and quaintness is what sets it apart. The prices are extremely reasonable including the wine list which has a good selection. The service was great and they are all very knowledgeable on the menu. We really enjoyed the burrata with garlic soaked tomatoes and the branzino. We also had a pasta with mushrooms which was good but not spectacular. I overheard the Paccheri is very good so I'll try that next time. Also loved the coconut pineapple pannacotta. read more

We had some fresh mozzarella and split the Classico and Siciliano paninis. Loved it all. The food is above average but not earth shatteringly good. I would give 5 stars, but the prices are a bit too much for Biscayne avenue. I barely squeaked under 100 dollars---Overpriced cannolis---were average! We found this place using Yelp and since it was highly rated we decided to go. The server recommended the mixed cheese plate which was actually quite good despite the fact that the server didn't bother to explain what cheese was what, in fact we found him to be quite incomprehensible and inattentive most of the time..(silverware missing, table lamps weren't lit, he disappeared for awhile...)..I ordered the ravioli Oslo bucco and my wife had the "catch of the day" which she thought was supposed to have included clams but since the server was incomprehensible it now remains a mystery. Portions were generous, ambiance charming, prices were a little high for the area ( there is/was a 10% discount if .you check in on Yelp) but the service could use some improvement. Atmosphere: adorable, charming if slightly confused. It's like grandma country crashes into industrial design (lighting) crashes into modern art and rolls into rustic. NiDo's are flavorful, smooth, not starchy and perfectly cooked. So far I've found it a huge struggle to find heathy food options for breakfast in miami, I thought i was safe with their fruit plate which priced at $8 I thouhgt would work for a full breakfast. Huge disappointment. Caked in powdered sugar, with slops of whipped cream and syrup in the side. A non-dairy, no-refined sugar followers worst nightmare (exaggerating of course). Nonetheless really misses the mark. Plus it was small and they didn't bother to peel the oranges. Come on guys. Net-net: this place is well run, professional and a good neighborhood joint. Don't expect everything on the menu to be spot on. The staff and owners give a damn about your experience and their restaurant. They'd get a five star from me with more consistency between menu and final deliverable. TWO and a HALF STARS. Four of us went early on Sunday evening for a "bite to eat," as Dining Companion One said. We had a large starter plate of cheeses and meats, then followed with some salads. Food was decent enough, but not spectacular. I ate here a couple years ago and would have given the place three or four stars at that time. A woman I highly respect believes this is one of the great dining experiences in Miami. However, our Sunday evening was marred by DC Two's discovery first of a dirty fork and then a caterpillar crawling on the table. Went in to Ni.Do. on a Thursday night with a friend to talk and enjoy a great meal. The Owner/GM Matteo took care of us and suggested paccheri salsiccia provola patata (pasta with a sausage with a provola sauce with chunks of sausage and potatoes. Everything was fresh and absolutely amazing. The appetizer was fresh ricotta with a cup of diced tomatoes sprinkled with sea salt. WOW! Then the Paccheri salsiccia provola patata came. The tastes were balanced and complimented each other. Very nice! Dessert was a panche ricotta with a hint of lemon. Presentation was simple and elegant. Taste did not overpower any previous dish and left a soothing cool taste in my mouth. Luca the ex Executive Chef from Tirimasu has a new hat to add as owner is doing an outstanding job. He will keep the chairs warm for sure! read more
