It's my favorite Italian restaurant in Florida. I've been to plenty Italian restaurants and this one is by far more authentic to Italy. The portions are great. Not too little or too much. Just enough, the European style. You won't leave this place feeling bloated and full as you would with the Italian-American style. They make their own Mozzarellas and the Burrata is my favorite. Polipo (octopus) is my fav salad and the Paccheri pasta hands down AMAZING. And they mix and match and change up the specials. Let's not forget the amazing friendly service from owners to the servers. I can eat there everyday if I lived in Miami again. A must go! It's my favorite Italian restaurant in Florida. Fabio is a genuine Italian from Rome. I stumbled upon this place after realizing that the Vagabond Hotel and bar was closed on a Monday. Needless to say, discovering this restaurant was a happy accident. I knew I was in good shape when I saw that they serve Julius Meinl espresso- one of Europe's best and very hard to find State side. I had the Octopus salad and the Branzino. Absolutely fantastic. The Bronzino was the best fish I've had in a long time and I live in San Francisco where seafood has been set on a high bar. You might think I'm exaggerating, but this is really my opinion. We have traveled the world and always try the Italian restaurant where we go and I can say with certainty that the fake Italian restaurants run by non Italian - that everything they do except cook Italian are everywhere. NIDO instead is a feast of flavors and aromas of genuine Italian cuisine, the restaurant is very cured and refined, together with the staff and, the delicious food. I had no desire to eat brunch in a strip mall restaurant, but was out voted. I'm definitely glad I was. Brunch at this place was so sublime, it is seriously one of the top three places I've eaten brunch in Miami-Dade county. The food seriously was the center-piece of the meal, which I think is a sign that a restaurant is truly good. However the server was delightful to chat with; and professional at the same time. Wanting to try a lot, we also split the Crudo (rainbow runner fish) small plate. So good. While eating my Half of the Crudo I was reminded to get some sauce. I called before going and they didn't tell me they ran out of milanesas. Chicken was the same price as meat. I guess it can happen but... 2- This really pissed me off. When the bill came, there was a 15% service charge that was only for the kitchen people. Those charges are in my book, a dumb trick. And I don't like tricks. So I left a tip for the waiter and left. I may return some day. I still dont understand their policy. The cheff was very friendly, don't know if he was also the owner. In any case, I hope they get better.

The fish was fresh and I loved being able to see how many ways tuna could be prepared. Then the butcher took us over to watch a short video on the history of the restaurant and to a small hidden room to pick out our steaks. The butcher shows us about 8 different cuts and described each cut in detail. Each steak comes with a side of potatoes and a salad. The apps we chose were the mixer croquettes and truffle risotto which were both delicious. My only complaint for this restaurant was that the steaks automatically came with salad and potatoes and you couldn't substitute them for different sides. But otherwise a great unique experience.
