[[HIGHLIGHT]]I loved the Ambiance of the dark area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The Service there was good but did need to keep checking up on customers a little more I had to wait 10 minutes to get someone to refill our drinks. The food, I'll have to base it on the chicken, since a lot of there were pork broth and I can't have Pork. The chicken was good and that spicy sauce was no joke. I'd love to come back and have that chicken and maybe one day when they have ramen broth that I can have.

I enjoyed the food it was cute , the service was nice , the food was good but not the best I had . [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was pretty empty when we showed up[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] .

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Night Market Noodle has nice wooden interior with plenty of seatings for big and small groups.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu has a mixture of Korean and Japanese food. My party had the Brussels sprouts, takoyaki, gyoza, and ika geso as appetizers. The appetizers were ok, except the ika geso. The flour coating on the ika geso was thick, and did not taste good. I had the Moto Tsukumen, which was a disappointment too. The dipping broth was very thick, which had the texture of gravy instead and the flavor was one-note too. The ajitamago was not marinated well, and wasn't cooked well too. I received good service during my visit.

Great spot for multiple noodle options. I ordered the Burnt Garlic Tonkotsu as a set, with the Mini Yangnyum Nuggets as an appetizer--all for $13.75 before tax. I was pleasantly surprised by the broth; it wasn't overly salty, which was my initial concern. The portion was generous and quite filling. The Mini Yangnyum Nuggets, however, were a bit too spicy for my taste--definitely something for those who enjoy a kick. I couldn't finish them, so keep the heat level in mind when ordering. I also tried a side of karaage, which was excellent--crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. I'm not a big fan of mayo-based sauces, but if you are, it might be a nice pairing. Overall, the meal wasn't mind-blowing, but it was solid and satisfying. The service was friendly, and I'm definitely interested in coming back to try some of their other noodle options.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Bad like smell when you come thru the front doors but goes away once you keep walking.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I enjoyer everything we ordered here. Lots of flavor, everything came out exactly as I wanted. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If they can get rid of the weird smell that would be good.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Other than that I'd def come back for food. Service was adequate, I was out of water for a while and very parched.

Came for lunch and the noodle set (noodles plus mini appetizer) was very affordable at $15.50. They weren't lying when they said mini (about 5-6 nuggets in the karaage). It was fried to perfection and the dipping sauce was great. The noodles were good and the chashu pieces were big, but the tonkatsu broth was too salty (didn't drink it). Would come back!

The last time I came to this spot it was still the Thai Night Market. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The furniture and decor is largely the same, wooden and minimalistic, and trendy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you have a larger party, you may have to split because tables are on the smaller side.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The food came out pretty quickly and service was friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Restrooms were clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The noodle set is priced at $13.75, where you get to select a ramen, as well as an appetizer. Given ramen prices these days, this is pretty good value. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We came in early for dinner and there was plenty of seating. However, it did start to get busier as the night progressed[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. If I am in the Chinatown area and craving ramen, this is definitely a go-to option.

Amazing. This maybe our new favorite ramen spot and we drove over an hour to try them out. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior is really unique with cute intimate booths.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the Tan Tan Men ramen (perfectly spicy) and my husband or the Coco Curry. Both are amazing. We also ordered 2 appetizers: YANGNYUM NUGGETS, and Aji fry. Both were delicious. The service was amazing. Our waitress offered some recommendations since this was our first time. Great spot. Must try.

Spicy Sapporo miso Ramen and spicy chicken karaage
    Miko B.

A great ramen place but not the best. I ordered the spicy Sapporo miso ramen which is a new item they introduced two weeks ago. It was definite thick and good but lacked a bit of the rich flavor that typically ramen soup should have. For my spicy food lovers, this is not spicy. The kaarage chicken was good but the rice was too dry. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is spot on as if you were walking into a night market style restaurant.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The waiters were also very nice and accommodating.

Tantanmen - actually spicy for Japanese standard but not too spicy for someone who can take heat.
    Linda T.

Some parking in a shared plaza. This parking lot can be quite busy some times, depending on the day and time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Interior is very laid back, like you found this restaurant in an alley or a Japanese street. Very cool.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Ambiance gets 5/5 and for being cleaned as it can be at the time of dinner I went.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This restaurant be get packed but food comes out pretty quickly. Servers are friendly and they're always exercising their memory muscle of their brain - how in the world do you memorize everyone's order, especially with a big group!? Karaage - plain and could have been fried just a tad longer or on higher heat. 1/5 Tantanmen - spicy but like a creamy spicy so it doesn't hit you as hard. I wouldn't call it "numbing spicy." For someone who can take heat, I enjoyed it. Thick noodles is a good choice for this ramen. Adding cilantro was out of the blue but I enjoyed it. Boiled egg was cooked perfectly for ramen - slight hard but slightly runny. I highly suggest this to anyone who actually enjoy spicy noodles. 4/5 Shoyu Ramen - my personal favorite with fish broth. I liked the medium ramen for this. Everything cooked perfectly and not crazy amount of sodium. The only downside was the chashu. It wasn't cooked quite how I liked it and didn't have that "melt in your mouth" texture. 4/5 Overall, I would come back and recommend this ramen restaurant to friends. It's definitely made it to the top 5 for ramen in Houston. Broths and noodles are made correctly. Just come by! Something to note, I believe a table can hold a max of a party of 6. If you're a bigger party, perhaps give them a call first or y'all going to be scattered.

    Tracey Z.

Solid food here! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The wood benches and stall vibes definitely gave night market.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I got the shoyu ramen with the chicken appetizer. The shoyu ramen had great flavor and the broth was well made. The noodles also had good chewiness. I wish there was more fish cake though. The chicken I got was the yangnyum nuggets which was too spicy to taste the flavor.

Yummy yummy! Best ramen ever!!! If you've not tried this restaurant drop what you're doing and go!!! Tried burnt garlic and spicy black garlic I think?? Waiter was very friendly and attentive...not used to that. See pics!

    mazesoba
    Jacky D.

Thought of my japan trip and was craving mazesoba. I tried looking up places but remembered i saw a foodie on instagram come here and mentioned it had mazesoba. Looking at the menus photos posted online i didn't see it but still took the risk to get it and luckily they were still serving it. It's in a plaza with other well known establishments so I would guess it would be difficult to find parking on a busy night! but there is still a good amount - maybe just a walk. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Pretty empty for a sunday lunch but there were still people coming and going.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]the interior was nice imo.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] mazesoba - overall it satisfied my craving that i basically inhaled it. the umami of the rich sauce was amazing. i like to add vinegar and chili oil to mazesoba to turn it up a notch as well. the pork was not super tender but i'm just a harsh on all pork belly's. it wasn't tough by any means. one weird thing was the seaweed was tough...like there was a BITE to some of the pieces. one where i couldn't even bite through to consume. i don't know if any other place serves mazesoba but if not i will be a regular here now. 8.9/10

I had a great experience at ramen Tatsu-ya. It was my first time here & I was very impressed…read more I ordered the "mi-so-hot" & it was amazing. First - the ramen came out super fast. I was very surprised. And my broth was so delicious. It had such a rich umami flavor due to the miso & I thought the spice level was perfect. Honestly - I could eat jhst that broth for a whole meal. Unlike buldak or some other spicy ramens - the main selling point wasn't the spice. You could get an additional "spice bomb" if you wanted some more heat. The ramen toppings were good but not outstanding - same with the noodles. I thought the "mi-so-hot" was easily 3x better than "the og". The broth in "the og" was pretty interesting and more unique tasting. It felt like the main notes were just umami, pork, and oil. Not bad, but felt like it was missing a little something to make it truly good. If I had just got the OG, I'd rate this place a bit lower - but as it stands I'd 100% come back here for the "mi-so-hot" The interior was pretty nice. It was more "communal style seating" with a couple of big tables. There is also some smaller booths. It's an "order at the counter" type restaurant as well. I saw several comments about parking & was a bit concerned when driving over. I know that part of westheimer is always packed! But there is an attached parking lot & at 3pm on a Sunday, there was plenty of parking! Also - there is some street parking in the neighborhood north of the shop. Overall - will 100% be coming back for some more spicy ramen. Would recommend

Sushi Flight (6 Pieces, 4 Flavors) - Somehow 1,050 calories??? - Raw Salmon x2 - Strangely, I would have liked this colder. It was just okay. - Cooked Salmon x2 - I liked this a lot more than the raw salmon because it had a deeper flavor. - Scallops - Probably my favorite thing on this platter because of the smokiness they imbue with the torching. The sweet aftertaste was definitely worthwhile. - Shrimp - Not as fresh as I would have liked, as someone who's eaten a lot of shrimp, but I still liked the taste. Still, pretty mediocre. Tantan Tsukemen - Very interesting broth. Potent, salty, and full of bold flavor. My friend swapped the pork for chicken, and the chicken worked really well with the broth. They serve the chicken as a cold cut. This is a double-noodle dish with a soy milk-based dipping sauce. I normally would have ordered this because I LOVE tantan ramen, but I had to forgo it for the limited-time Creamy Truffle Ramen. Creamy Truffle Ramen - LOVED the broth. It was very light and creamy. I actually liked this a lot more than tonkotsu ramen. The truffle wasn't too overwhelming--just mild enough to hint at its flavor without becoming the only flavor profile you get. Truffle is like baking with rose water; finding that balance is quite hard. I will admit the whole table smelled like truffles, though. The torched king oyster mushroom paired wonderfully with the dish, and the broccolini was an equally interesting topping choice. I also found bits of melted Parmesan throughout the ramen, which the menu listed as an ingredient. The egg wasn't the best I've ever had, but it was still a decent soy egg. As I kept eating, the truffle oil became more intense, and the fattiness started to get a bit overwhelming without washing it down with water. Great flavor overall, but I think this dish is best paired with an appetizer to help cut through the richness. One of my favorite things about this place, which my BF mentioned, was the noodle texture. I noticed it too as I ate--a good bite with a slick texture that was just starchy enough to cling to the broth. We had leftover noodles from the Tantan Tsukemen at the end of the meal and ended up using the Creamy Truffle broth as a dipping sauce. Honestly, no regrets. The cold noodles didn't work quite as well in this dish, but the broth was definitely a banger. This was also the first ramen broth I couldn't finish but desperately wanted to bring home. (Obviously, I did.) Their to-go containers are surprisingly sleek, too. It's a weird thing to compliment, but I almost wanted to keep the container as much as the broth. Special comment on the utensils here--the soup spoons are ridiculously cute! Would love to have a similar set at home. Overall, the atmosphere was pleasant, and the service was thoughtful. The music wasn't too loud, and it wasn't that crowded for a Saturday night. They do play a lot of popular Japanese songs, so if you're an international music enthusiast, you'll appreciate hearing "Mayonaka no Door" by Miki Matsubara.

One waitress served everyone in the restaurant while I was there. She was speedy in taking and delivering orders. She seemed very nice! Food: ordered Tonkotsu Gachi and my mom ordered the yuzu. Food arrived very quickly, though we ordered no appetizers. The tonkotsu broth was rich and velvety in texture, but more like a mild umami in flavor. The chashu pork was pale, but melt in your mouth buttery and bursting with savory pork goodness! The marinated egg wasn't brought up to temperature with the broth -- a little cooler than room temperature, with a medium oozy yolk. It felt like the marinade penetrated all through to the yolk -- it was great! I welcomed the novel choice to use red onion over the usual scallions. It was a nice touch of color and brought in that bright, juicy onion flavor that I crave. Noodles were perfect texture. Not too hard or mushy. This bowl feels made to focus on the broth and flavor and not so much an instagram post. Delicious!! My only complaint was a very very very slight bitterness in the background. I couldn't pin where it was coming from. Maybe that's a risk of simmering bones for so long. I'll keep this short because I couldn't just eat my moms bowl... The Yuzu shio broth was clearer, with bright, citrusy, and savory body. The bamboo shoots were golden (grilled?) with a little snap to it. Reminds me of a king oyster mushroom. This is really a unique broth and I haven't had anything like it. You should definitely try it! Restaurant: clean, neat, every table literally has its place /orientation.
