Owl fries.

Love the concept but wasn't impressed. $25 for basically chicken and fries seems outlandish. A friend got the burger and said he would've rather had a McDouble. My other friend swore by the chicken and waffles tho!! Food was definitely fresh but for the crowd of people and price not worth it in my opinion. (Waitress was so sweet tho).

It's 3 in the morning, and for whatever reason, YOU ARE HUNGRY! Despair not! Keep calm and simply follow this 12 step program: 1. Walk into Night Owl Diner, located at Sylvania and Secor. 2. Mosey on up to the counter. 3. Check out the menu. 4. Give your order to the friendly counter attendant. 5. Pay for your meal. 6. Take a seat. 7. Wait for a short time. 8. Notice the waitress sauntering over to bring you your food. 9. Eat a terrific meal. 10. Finish at your own pace, perhaps getting a refill, or two, of your coffee or pop. 11. Tip the waitress who has been checking on you the whole time. 12. Say, as you're walking out, "Have a good night. I'll be back." There you go. You're no longer hungry. Problem solved. Notice that because you paid in advance, after you've finished eating, you don't have to sit around waiting for your check and possibly your plastic. Although not everyone likes this service model, I personally do. If I'm being honest, SO FAR the food has rated about 4 stars, BUT... Allyson the waitress (cool, friendly), the concept (all-night diner in the heart of the Toledo metro area), and the atmosphere (comfortable with demure lighting) combine to give Night Owl Diner a fifth star. I would also say that Night Owl is on the expensive side. But, hey that's the price you pay for the convince of getting a good meal at 3 am! FIVE STARS!

So the second time we went they no longer have table service. Sad. Really thought this place could be the new late nite spot, instead it's just a carryout.

Clean, casual, friendly place. Food was hot and well prepared. Portions were filling. Will cost an average of $15-20 per person (not a complaint). Overall, I think the prices are reasonable. For a RECOMMENDATION, I suggest The Owl Fries!!! I don't know how they took basic ingredients (we've all had loaded fries, come on...) and made them fantastic, but The Night Owl did!! P.S. The staff was the BEST, seriously.

A solid, comforting, reliable spot for casual late night dining. The food was simple, in the best way possible. When I ordered a Nutella waffle, I was expecting a huge hodgepodge of garbage on my plate. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a very simple waffle drizzled with a couple of syrups and topped with powdered sugar and sweet cheese. Not overwhelming, but still appropriately delicious, as one would hope a waffle would be! Also, the owl fries are to die for. Another simple take on loaded French fries complete with queso, sour cream, bacon, and chives. Absolutely delicious, not nauseatingly enormous, and perfect for a casual late night comfort bite with a friend or solo. The ambiance of the place is perfect. Low lighting, friendly staff, and comfortable seating options. I would say this diner strikes the perfect balance between junk/comfort food and reasonable portions. Would recommend, 10/10!

So very good! Better than Hangover Easy and they're fantastic! Even those shredded hash browns that need ketchup and taste so-so elsewhere- here they are fantastic all on their own, golden and full of flavor! Amazing breakfast sandwich, amazing waffles, amazing loaded fries, amazing service. The atmosphere is fantastic- low lighting, chill music.. Perfect vibe.

I had the Hot honey chicken and Waffles and the Loaded fries, wasn't too shabby, The waffles are bomb, and the chicken was tender.

Was it worth $11.29 for a small smoked turkey breast sandwich and mac & cheese meal? Honestly…read more.. no. I originally stopped in thinking this might be more of a coffee shop so I could grab a snack and coffee while pumping gas--kill two birds with one stone. From the outside--and even inside--it's aesthetically appealing and looks like a great spot. But the experience didn't quite match that first impression. The food itself didn't hit the mark in the taste factor--nothing terrible, just not memorable or worth the price in my opinion. That said, I'm open to trying other menu items because maybe I just didn't order the right thing. Customer service was pretty average--nothing to complain about, but nothing that stood out either. Overall, it didn't hit the mark this time, but I'd consider giving it another shot.

Been here recently/last year three times, which has a refreshed look compared to the past. They have a variety of options with hot deli style sandwiches as a base, but have soups/salads as well as calzones, pizza, and flatbreads. If you have a sweet tooth, Cinnabon products are available as well as cookies and brownies. Breakfast is also available with breakfast sandwiches, burritos and tacos. The food quality is pretty good and a nice option to standards like McDonald's and Arbys etc. Cost seems higher for what it is, but to be fair in the past year (2025-2026) prices seem to be soaring due to tariffs and other economic issues. Food quality is not bad, but not a stand out either. Soups seem to be one of the better options. Service seems so so for friendliness as well as speed. The environment is OK, again not a standout. New look but has an "Empty Sterile" nervous vibe. Overall, OK especially if you need a break from the standard fast food chains noting the prices for McDonald's and others has skyrocketed and service and over all experience has been on the decline, putting Schlotzskys well positioned for fast food. Managing my bias here as I almost never eat fast food unless there is a need such as short on time or thats all thats available. Go ahead, worth a try if you are in the market for fast food and tired of the typical places.

YES!!!!! Finally,…read moreafter nearly 10 years living back in Toledo, this place has opened! Real NYC-style chicken and rice. If you ever lived in NYC you know what I'm talking about. This is the real deal. The guy who runs it used to run a deli in Brooklyn. Toledo has plenty of good Lebanese shawarma platters, but this is a different category. Nothing else scratches the itch. They upped their price to about $15, but when they did that they increased the portion size and included a drink and a bag of chips for free, so I think it's still a pretty good deal. Often they'll mix in some fries with the platter, too. As well as lettuce, tomatoes, and grilled onions and peppers. And they have Vernors, which you can't usually get at NYC halal trucks. So it's almost like NYC-Detroit fusion, the best of both worlds LOL! I haven't tried the rest of their menu much. I tried a lemon chicken sandwich once, and it was not on par with the ones that I've from the better delis in Harlem and The Bronx. It was kind of soggy and salty. I might try more of the subs at some point, but I really think of this as a one dish place for now, in spite of their long menu. I think it's hard to express just how happy I am to have this place a short drive from me. The cost to obtain one of my favorite foods from my home in Toledo went down from about $500 and several hours of travel (the price of a round-trip flight to LaGuardia plus one night in a hotel in Queens) down to about $15 and a 10 minute drive.

THE best middle eastern food in Toledo!…read more Currently in Bowling Green, about 35 minutes south, any time I'm in the 419 - I try to stop here! My go-to is the chicken shawarma dinner plate. As much as I'd like to say I've tried more dishes here, I can't... because their chicken shawarma is too good to steer away! Lovely portions for the $20 price tag. I'm very hard to fill-up, but they manage to do it here. The large portion sizes is what ultimately keeps me coming back. Owner & management - please keep it up! Kind staff. Very accommodating. Treated like family while dining in. Newly remodeled dining area that's especially nice. The ONLY knock I have is a 7% fee for dining - which appears to be a new charge. Food is prepared on a paper plate and served on a plastic tray that you return when throwing away trash. The additional expense to eat in is not justifiable. There is also a 3% non-cash fee. Be prepared to spend an additional 10% menu price if you plan to dine in & pay with card. Overall, I thoroughly love this place, and will continue to eat here a LOT as long as prices remain manageable and portions stay large. I very highly recommend!
