Overall we are pleased with our experience with Nighthawk. They were prompt to get us booked, I appreciated their very professional website, and their report. The report is really thorough and easy to access. Our inspector was very professional and I appreciated his walk through. I've debated on this rating, however, because several things that were functional before his visit were broken by him. On the one hand, I'm glad he exposed some things to be fixed, and in general I believe he was just doing his job. On the other hand, I feel like he could have discovered things close to breaking without actually breaking them. For example, the fence that clearly would need to be replaced soon, now it is much more broken and will need to be replaced ASAP. I wish he hadn't made it worse. There were a few other things as well. So, I'm deducting a star because I felt he was too rough. I do believe I would still recommend this company, I just would hope this review spurs our inspector to consider if he is too rough with the homes. read more

I hired NHI to execute a home inspection on a property my husband and i were in the process of purchasing, with said property being 2+hours away from us. Communication with NHI was very easy, every step of the way. Both Rob and Chris were professional, responsive, and prompt and put us nervous buyers at ease. They connected with my realtor to view the property. They were very thorough in their inspection taking numerous photos and outlining the issues. I especially liked how they rated everything with one of three scores (which was roughly: Green/Passed, Yellow/May Need Attention, or Red/Fix/Replace Immediately). These breakdowns and photos helped us to not only know what we may need to address and how timely, but also helped us to get things repaired by sellers. When a standard seller disclosure regarding 'Kitec plumbing' came up (which being manufactured over 10 years AFTER our property was built, indicating this was probably a non-issue), Chris agreed to go back to the property (for free - no up charge) to indeed confirm this type of plumbing was not in place. They never made us feel 'stupid' for asking or making them feel 'put out' to return to the property. Again, putting our nerves at ease. We are now 100% confident in moving forward with our purchase. It was a pleasure working Rob on a couple of homes from the 1920's and 1930's that had original electrical and plumbing and had not been taken care of for many, many years. We live 3 hours away from the properties so it was important to work with someone who would be there when they said they would be there. Rob was extremely punctual! Wow. This guy literally paid me 400$ to remove my last review. Which was his home inspection fee refunded. Then he sends me another review request 5 months later. Well, here we go. After living in the home now we've discovered many other safety issues Rob glossed right over besides the massive gas leak, the windows falling out of the frame and hitting us in the face, and multiple water leaks under ground, I've since been informed by our electrician that we have hot 220 voltage wires hangin out of a conduit that were, get this, jumped past the breaker box. This means they cannot be shutoff. Huge issue. Hey Rob, if your gonna pay customers to remove their review of your minutia filled inspection, maybe don't resend a yelp review a few months later. Clown. This guy is wandering around your possible home without the foggiest idea of how anything works, do not pay the extra money for the pool inspection he knows jack about pools. And his liability laced disclaimer states that if you want a real inspection there are many extra fees associated. Very fine print of coarse. Hello. First of all i want to say that Rob Matlock is amazing guy, honest and professional. We had inspection on December 12, 2018. It's really hard job to check entire house and make notes with pictures, recommendations. He got everywhere in the house where it was possible. I was following him first 3-4 hours then tired and got seat for resting while he was checking every detail of the house another 1-2 hours. Rob is using a lot of gears, gauges and equipment. He is working smooth and effective providing verbal explanations during the inspection. Even in the perfect shape house with a lot of work done, he found things that were requested to be fixed. Every crack, previous repairs, even negative slope of gutters and many other things were reflected in the report. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a home inspection. read more
