This restaurant's ambiance is unmatched. Decorated really well, with it being outdoor but feels very indoor with how well the plants and tables are set up. Flames, fountains and greenery everywhere. Our server was very helpful, our group has some restrictions and allergies but we were able to find a good balance of items to share. We ordered the meze collection to start off to share. Every was very fresh and we are every single bit. We also had the Greek salad, which was very finely chopped. We ordered another order of hummus/pita. Our second pita was very different from the first, didn't seem consistent as the night went one. We had the salmon plate as well which was good. I would say the food was decent but it's not really what you come to this place for mainly. Plan to come back to try some of their yummy drinks!

3.5 stars. Good bar, pretty laid back. Good cocktails, not great though. Decent service. I like the indoor/outdoor area.

Arrived around 9:30 PM on a Friday night and the bar was full but not packed. The space is small with one bathroom (the door didn't lock!!!) The drinks were well made and the music was as extremely loud (EDM). I didn't have any issues ordering the drinks with staff, like some other reviewers pointed out. It was a fun stop on a girls night out.

The bartender was really good and oh my the cocktails were fantastic. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. The music is relaxing and you feel very comfortable.

Loved the vibe at Nighthawk. The indoor space had great music and cozy energy, while the outdoor seating was perfect for people-watching and soaking in the downtown Redwood City buzz. I started with the Love For Shrub, but it ended up being way too sweet for my taste. I usually just deal with it, but this time I asked the bartender if I could switch--and they were incredibly kind about it. They even offered two wine samples to help me find a better fit. I didn't go with either, but the gesture was appreciated. Landed on an Old Fashioned, which turned out to be exactly what I needed. Great service, strong drinks, and a space I'd gladly come back to.

I had a cosmopolitan and it was delish! I have also had an espresso martini here before and they are very good as well. Perfect place for an after dinner drink!

Went here for a drink before dinner. The vibe is very dark with loud music on Fridays, so definitely more of a lively spot. It's a casual place that works for a date or grabbing drinks with friends. The cocktails were good, just a bit on the pricier side. Service was pretty mid, but overall still a decent stop for a quick drink.

I don't usually go downtown but when I do, I like to go to nighthawk. The vibe is totally fun, the DJ plays, great music, and I always have a good time with my friends. The only downfall is the time it takes to get a drink when it's busy on the weekends.

The ambiance was actually really nice. The cocktail and the music were great. But the woman at the bar was incredibly unfriendly--completely expressionless. A little smile wouldn't hurt, but nope, nothing. We were hoping to grab a bite while enjoying our drinks, but there was no food on the menu. We didn't notice that before sitting down. Since we were hungry, we ended up leaving early. Otherwise, we would've stayed longer and tried more cocktails. I'd still love to go back and give it another shot.

Update: consistently delicious craft cocktails. Quiet and good for conversation/date night some nights, but on Friday and Saturday it's more packed and loud with a DJ.

3.5 STARS Dates: Thursday, September 22nd, 2022 - 6:45pm Saturday, April 15th, 2023 - around 12:45am *Native Sons ($14) *Ginger Beer ($3) I've been here twice. Once before dinner and another time after dinner. The order above was from my 2022 visit. It was a chill Thurs night and not too busy. So we sat at the bar and I enjoyed a cocktail. The later visit in 2023 was late and a Fri, so packed. We had to make our way to the bar and talk over the noise to order. Your typically bar with loud music, maybe some people randomly dancing, etc. I'm old, so I preferred the more chill vibe. Fun spot to grab a cocktail. I just wish it wasn't so chaotic on a Fri night. Definitely would only come back on a slower weekday evening. Yes, gma, right here! REVIEW #3610

Perfect pit stop! Waiting for a table at Mazra Mediterranean next door? Nighthawk's got you covered! We sipped on exceptional cocktails while we waited. Must-trys: 1. Rusted Rim 15: El Silencio mezcal, yellow Chartreuse, lime, tamarind and Hella bitters - absolute perfection! 2. Climate Best Government Test: Jalapeño ice adds a thrilling kick. Friendly service, modern vibe. Ideal spot to kill time or meet friends. Highly recommended!

We arrived starving after a long hike at nearby Corte de Madera, and were craving some comfort food and beer to appease our appetites, and Ghostwood hit the spot! So much flavor and the meat-to-toppings-to-bread ratio was perfect. Definitely hit the spot! * Special big ups to the Beef Tallow Fries that were crispy and just fantastic. I was already suffering a sore throat , so during the break I told my friend I needed a drink if I was to sit through another stretch of the same format. Harry the bartender is one of the nicest guys you'll meet, and when I asked him if he could make me a hot toddy he didn't blink! Bar is small and is sort of an extension to the Curry pizza place. But it is absolutely at an amazing location and serves anything your heart desires. Friend had a hibiscus whatever with vodka and she was happy with it. I was more than happy with the hot toddy he made with Hennessy. Prices are middle of the road at $14 for a drink, and this place combines two of my absolute faves: Indian spiced wings and cocktails. We arrived at about 1:00-1:30 and the inside main dining area was already closed to patrons as staff prepared for the evening service. The host's tone did not encourage potential customers to dine there during the transition to dinner prep. Not a great first impression that gave off a late arrival so you'll get what's leftover vibe which was exacerbated by being forgotten for what seemed to be a half hour before our waitperson came to take our order. We chose to sit in the front sidewalk patio which was cold and windy not an alternate choice we will need to make again. We ended up sitting across from two loud, self-centered, immature, foul-mouthed college grad girls bragging about studying for their masters attempting to appear cultured were distracting everyone on that patio. After we placed our order, we finished up the app and hubbs was furious they forgot about his glass of pinot which arrived without an apology for the delay preceding our plate arrivals. I had the ny strip steak on the breakfast menu which came out perfectly med-well & added cilantro rice which was good although a little sticky not fluffy. Hubbs had the salmon which looked amazing and he enjoyed the mango sauce--the dish just didn't fill him up. Good thing we ordered fresh chips, salsa& guac.--which was very well prepared; the freshest guac I've ever had. It had fresh chopped tomatoes & green chiles all perfectly combined. Our wait person/food server made up for the less than stellar first impression of the host. And the food was flavorful. The ambiance was ruined by the diners across from us and the forgetfulness of taking our orders timely and serving the wine after the appetizer couldn't bring us back from what started out as negative experience. There are many restaurants up & down the bay that we aren't bothered. This wasn't the best reception nor dining experience and we are moving on. We hope it's a lesson and possibly could've just been a bad day for the crew, and unfortunately there is so much competition out there. We highly recommend the food for its freshness and flavor; recommend the salmon dish for its flavor and balance but not for its portion size. And wish this place nothing but the best and to improve where they dropped the ball.

The food was very good, but the service was slow, and the staff seemed indifferent. A year later, tonight we returned with our family of six to celebrate my birthday and our first anniversary, hoping for a better experience. Unfortunately, the service felt just as aloof. Neither the waitstaff nor the manager made us feel like we were celebrating anything special. As we were leaving, our server said, "Oh, I forgot to give these to you," and handed us Happy Birthday and Happy Anniversary notes. While appreciated, the gesture felt like an afterthought. We also asked the host if he would take a family photo. I know that isn't part of his job, and we appreciated that he agreed. Unfortunately, every photo cut half of our family out of the frame, so we left without a single usable picture from the evening. The food is the reason we gave Hurrica another chance. I especially love the scallops and the milk bread. But service was so slow that we had lost our appetite by the time our entrées arrived. Our bill was over $700 for six people, each with just one drink. At that price, I expect memorable hospitality along with excellent food. Hurrica delivered on the food but not the experience. After three interactions over the past year, I've concluded that Hurrica simply isn't where I'll celebrate future birthdays or anniversaries.
