They're still in the soft opening phase while waiting on the rest of their equipment, but don't let that stop you--now's the perfect time to support a locally run spot that's already serving up greatness. If you want to save money shop the chain stores, but that hurts the local business, just like where you live. Much of the local stuff comes from China. Local work at the chain stores so it is good and bad. Groceries compared to where we live were doubled or more at local stores and even on the base. Best prices were at Target and Costco because of bulk buying power i.e. Amazon. Base does have a great restaurant. This island does have something you cannot buy, weather, but just prepare for sticker shock and bring plenty of plastic. My thing is to go to the beach, get sun and pick up trash. It's not a hotel but a condominium complex. Variations between units is common. Some units, including ours, haven't been renovated in a long time. The 1980's vibe includes broken ice maker, no a/c, problematic TV, and aging bathrooms. It's clean, the bed is comfortable, and the oceanfront view is superb. The grounds are immaculate, and the pool is large and comfortable. Management is friendly and helpful. The laundry facilities aren't in the unit, but a laundromat is on site, I'm sure the mixed reviews reflect the differences in units. We are returning in December, but have chosen a different unit (more expensive, but updated with beautiful decor and air conditioning! We booked through VRBO both times. I would advise you to shop carefully and ask questions prior to booking.

What followed was a deeply frustrating and costly experience that severely impacted our holiday plans. Less than two weeks before our scheduled arrival, The Parrish Collection cancelled our original unit (Poipu Shores A104), citing repair and permitting issues. We were understanding of the situation and accepted their offer to rebook us into a different property, Nihi Kai Villas #801. However, just two days later, that replacement reservation was also cancelled because the owner decided to use it. The company explicitly acknowledged in writing that this second cancellation was "their error." With Christmas and New Year's travel imminent and no comparable alternatives offered for our full stay, we were left with no choice but to scramble and secure new accommodations independently, which cost significantly more. While we eventually received a full refund for our original booking ($6,516.86), The Parrish Collection has outright refused to reimburse us for the substantial additional costs we incurred--a difference of $5,219.39--due to their repeated, last-minute cancellations and acknowledged mistakes. We were forced to pay $11,736.25 for replacement accommodations solely because of their failures to honor our confirmed bookings. Despite multiple professional attempts to discuss and resolve this directly with management, they remained entirely unwilling to offer any accommodation or compromise for the additional costs incurred due to their failures. Further, we filed formal complaints with both the Better Business Bureau and the Hawaii Office of Consumer Protection, neither of which has prompted a response from The Parrish Collection. This experience was incredibly stressful and costly, turning what should have been a joyful holiday into a burden of unexpected expenses and last-minute scrambling. It makes one wonder: what good is a reservation if the company can cancel it at will, leaving customers stranded and out of pocket? Adding to our concern, during our trip, we encountered numerous other travelers and locals who shared their own negative experiences or had heard similar reports about The Parrish Collection's unreliable service. Notably, when I attempted to post this factual account on The Parrish Collection's own website, it was not published, suggesting they actively screen customer reviews. We strongly advise future guests to exercise extreme caution when booking with The Parrish Collection Kauai, especially for time-sensitive or important trips. Our experience suggests a pattern of unreliable service, a lack of commitment to resolving their own failures or mitigating the financial harm to their customers, and a potential lack of transparency in customer feedback.

Absolutely enjoyed reclining in the lounge chairs (one has a mosquito net) and snacking at the table with a cup of coffee in hand while soaking in the greenery and sounds of nature (mostly rooster crows) - Appreciated being able to use the washer/dryer as well as borrow snorkel equipment, beach chairs and towels - Loved that Alexis kept a well-stocked fridge and snack bar for guests easily accessible from our room. - Wished we had the chance to use the pool! - Appreciated the light housekeeping while we were gone each day The breakfast: - Served 7:30-9ish on the common lanai - Comprised a self-serve bar replete with fresh cut fruit, local granola, hot drip coffee, homemade bread and pastries as well as an entree created by Alexis Other notes: - Alexis is the most gracious and generous host. She made sure we had supplies to pack out snacks, provided maps for trails, offered showers even after check-out time so that we could make the most out of our trip all the way to the very end. - Thankful for Robbie, the activities coordinator, for providing tips on local snorkeling and arranging our ATV tour. - The property is just a short drive from Poipu Beach Impression: one of the greatest gems of Kauai, will never choose to stay anywhere else when we visit!
