The only reason they are missing one star is because they do not tell you up front that you must eat all of the food ( including rice) and if there are left overs, and if you want to take your left over food home they will charge you. If you have left overs and don't option to take home they will charge you $2 per item. Also they do not alter the menu for you. For instance if a roll comes with 8 pieces you cannot request 4 instead you have to take all 8 pieces. I would do the all you can eat sushi rolls again with caution while ordering. We dined here around 2pm on a Friday which is the start of their dinner pricing. I specifically came here for their dinner menu since I saw salmon belly and yellowtail belly and they did not disappoint! They are limited to one order per person, but that's pretty standard from my experience. Bummer because they are the stars of the show for sure!! My bf wanted to try the Kobe roll but I think that along with the salmon skin salad were the only items we were underwhelmed with, everything else was great quality and delicious, from the nigiri to the carpaccio to the Disney no rice roll to the baked scallop. Service was also great! Full disclosure that it wasn't packed considering the time we went, but Peter was a great server and gave us some good recommendations. They also have ice cream discounted to $1 for those who purchased ayce, and it was the perfect way to end our meal. Came here on a weekend for a date night with my husband. We love sushi ayce and found this spot near orange and wanted to check it out compared to the normal ones we go to. First they were training and i think it was a bit hectic when trying to check in. We got sat at the sushi bar and chose to do ayce. The grilled scallops were actually so good it laid on a bed of vermicelli noodles in the garlic sauce and that was so good slurping up. All the rolls i got were okay but their menu is huge and i want to come back to try their other rolls. Service was very attentive and always checked and bussed our tables at the right times. Niku is known for their AYCE sushi menu I came here for the first time after hearing great things about it. They have two AYCE menu choices. The $55 one includes more sashimi and uni. We went with their $40 menu option which is basically the same without the sashimi bowl. My recommendation is to stay away from the appetizers and just order sushi. All their sushi meats, carpaccio and sashimis are fresh and really good. The only one I thought was not that great was their eel. The eel was a little dry and lacked sauce. Also, I didn't like was there was more rice than other AYCE sushi places. For appetizers, I enjoyed their fried oysters and scallops. The only roll we tried was their Eskimo roll which was alright. The rest of the appetizers were meh. My least favorite was their ramen which lacked in flavor and definitely was a filler. I wouldn't order it for $17 a bowl. At the end they offer ice cream. Service was excellent. They were good about taking away used plates and checking up on us. The food came out pretty quick and we got everything we asked for. The inside of this place is causal and very large. It is great for large groups or smaller ones. They even have a pretty large bar as well. Niku was a good experience but its a tad far from where I live so I'm unsure if I would come back. But its a great alternative to other AYCE sushi spots in the area. They told us we could not bring the food in, and they made us have him eat outside before coming in. Even though I explained my son has sensory issues. I came with just my small daughter to enjoy a peaceful Mother's Day lunch around noon, and everything was fine until it was time to pay. As I'm literally signing and tipping on the iPad, your short-haired dyke-server is hovering over me watching the screen. Then out of nowhere she says, "Are you okay? Or did you just get your lashes done?" I said yes. She goes, "Ohhh so THAT'S why, lol. It makes your eyes look droopy." Completely unnecessary, unprofessional, and disrespectful. I did not ask for her opinion on my appearance -- I came to eat, not be critiqued by a server who should be focused on doing her job. It instantly ruined what was otherwise a good experience. Staff were very nice and attentive. They checked in on us a few times while we are there. We went with the a-la-carte menu, ordered 6 rolls, and they all kind of taste the same. The quality of the fish was there, just the flavors were kind of similar, not a lot of variation. Most people probably come here for the AYCE, so maybe then you can experience more things. We decided to stay away from AYCE as they had a lot of rules to follow. The one thing we really liked was that we felt comfortable there. We've been to other AYCE places, and they can get super loud due to the amount of guests - this place was calm. We may come back and try the AYCE as we may not have picked the right things from the a-la-carte menu. One thing that I found annoying is that they make you pay at the table with 18% tip preselected, and it's kind of illusive changing it. I usually tip 15% in general, unless things were exceptional - I mean they didn't do much, they brought the food, checked in a few times and did 1 drink refill, and that's after we asked, even though they saw the cup was empty. Decently priced delicious rolls and great service. My husband and I are frequent patrons (probably 2-3 times a month). Glad that a good option for sushi is near our place-- easy walk, FRAN ride, or car drive. We order a la carte and haven't tried the AYCE. We've tried a good amount of the menu (stayed away from anything with banana or strawberry) and our favorite rolls are Aloha, Zen, and Niku. Parking lot is decently sized and the parking structure across the street has lots of additional parking. We looked up other ayce nearby and found Niku, we called and headed over and that was the best decision we made! Service, staff and ambiance was great.
