This was my favorite nail spots pre pandemic. It looks like they've done a nice re-design on the interior, and invested in new chairs. It all looks very nice! Unfortunately, when I repeatedly asked for a gel manicure and pedicure, I was pushed over and over again to get the gel dip and finally agreed. Y'all - it looks really bad. The color is uneven, it sticks up above my nails so it looks like I have a fungus or some thing, the color doesn't go all the way to the cuticle - it's just super amateur looking. They barely trimmed my cuticles. I brought this up to the owner and he tried to fix it...by pulling my hand over the counter and quickly refiling a few.I look like I tried to do a haphazard dip at home on my own. He told me it looked bad because my nails are too short - my nails are always short, I've never had the issue with gel. The gel pedicure looks great! They're charging more for a service they clearly haven't trained their people in. Such a bummer. I used to send people here all the time. I'll never be back. read more

This nail salon is good. Their prices are fair. The only reason I took off a star is because the main guy there didn't have his mask over his nose which wasn't great. They did have all doors open so lots of air flow and they had plexiglass at the hand stations so I felt pretty safe. I got a full set of acrylics with gel for $45. One of my nails did chip within 3 days (I am a student, don't really use my hands for labor much) which had never happened before. I went back and they fixed it in 15 min which was great! read more

I went in for a gel manicure on a Monday (today actually). They're usually slow on Mondays and sure enough I walk in and there are about three people but I was asked to wait. So I did. They sat me in an empty chair and started soaking my nails in water. After 20 minutes of soaking, Tina comes over and starts to cut my cuticles. It was all "okay". She began the gel base coat and then the color. The color was burgundy and after two coats she realized she had done my two coats on both my hands in REGULAR nail polish NOT gel. She says something to another employees and then tells me she will do one more coat (this time in gel). I asked her if she had done a regular polish and she said "the top coat gel will help dry the nail polish". She continued with the top coat gel and finished with the wiping down the "gel" nail polish. An hour later this supposed "gel manicure" I got starts peeling and the polish starts sliding around. Not only was the polish under the gel not dry it completely messed up the final look. It's disappointing to know that she didn't want to fix the problem when she realized it. I feel like I've wasted and hour of my day on a terrible job. I've been coming here for 12 years. It's disappointing to see how they treat their loyal customers. Very disappointed in them. This is the last time I come here. read more

I've seen Niky's Nails improve over time. I've been going 2010. I went recently to get a gel mani and a regular pedi. David introduced me to Cat Eyes gel polish. If you like iridescence with a twist, you might like this look. It's a 3 step process. Two solid color layers, one special coat over that, and then he uses a magnet over each nail to pull the metallic elements together. In various light s you get an extra dimension that looks like a cat eye like the gemstone. You may just think it's not worth the extra $10, but the complements and fun of watching how each nail turns out are worth it. This is not a cookie cutter look. Ask for David. Enjoy! read more

I've been coming to Nicky's for 16 years. I had arcrylics for ten of those years. I've been to different nails places during that time...and no one did them better for me than Nicky. I stopped getting arcrylics and went to manicures. Recently they introduced me to soak off gel polish for natural nails. I LOVE this!!!!! My manicures last for 3 weeks. That's with cleaning, washing dishes, etc. No chips. Rarely any breaks (I like to keep them long and somethings I forget and tend to be heavy handed). I have been coming to Nicky's nails for a very long time they are always so nice I always took my girl's. Today I dropped off the girls because they are 17 and have a job so they can pay on their own. Well when I picked the girls up the first thing they said was " mom it was horrible he was soo mean and rude to us". He said the ladies were nice but they did the nails in a hurry and the job was horrible the nails look ugly. One of my girls nail polish is chipping hasn't even been an hour. My other girls acrylic is think and lumpy. My girls even tipped them just to be treated the way they did. They shouldn't just be nice when parents are around they should treat our teenagers with the same respect. They lost loyal customers. read more

I'm not a mani-pedi authority, and wanted a local, no-fuss, competent, low/no wait time kinda place to give my callused feet some love. Niky's happens to be right next door to the Trader Joe's that I shop at, which made it super convenient! I went on a Sunday, and was immediately served. Yes, it's run by Vietnamese, and yes, they all speak in their native tongue to each other when they're working with you. The woman I got was really efficient in her pedicure: I asked her to remove my calluses, which she said "$5 more, OK?" A foot soak, removal of old nail polish, nail and cuticle trimming, and some serious elbow grease filing on my heels ensued (I spend most of my time barefoot, and lazily, do not apply lotion to my heels. Plus, my walking around in my most-loved sandals causes the calluses). Quite a few layers of dead skin came off and landed on the towel in her lap as evidence (ew). I picked out a new nail polish color, and she quickly painted base coat, polish, and top coat. Then I marched off to the dryer. All the while, other customers were coming in the door, and they were also served very swiftly. There was a big LED TV screen mounted in the back, but no sound emitted except the hum of working Vietnamese cosmetologists doing nails. I was in and out of Nicky's in 20 minutes, $18 lighter, and very pleased with my happy, shiny feet! Would definitely recommend, and return! p.s. beware of the chemical stink when you enter...most nail salons exude this unfortunately....! read more

I was nervous to get my soft stiletto/almond ombré done because I had a very particular idea of how I wanted them. I got my nails done by Tom yesterday and they turned out beautifully!! He was friendly and really listened to what I wanted. He spent time making sure each nail was shaped and colored perfectly. This is very unfortunate that it is ran by a new owner. I use to come here once a month with the previous owner, she always did an amazing job to the point we became friends. I just came out of the place for a quick touch up on my eyebrows. Although, I didn't have cash for tip they use to charge it on my card.
