My friend and I were looking for a place to get some simple nails done (I wanted a gel manicure and she wanted a dip manicure) that could fit us in somewhat last minute in the afternoon and for the best price. We probably called about 10 places and this one could fit us in and the pricing was great! We went in and the environment was very relaxed, clean and calm. It was peaceful and quiet. A very nice experience and my nails looked amazing. I picked a beautiful plum purple and the woman who did my nails did them flawlessly. They lasted for almost 3 weeks before I had to take them off. I used to go to Occidental College, so it was great for us to be able to go to such a nice nail place nearby. I will remember York Nails for sure! read more

This would be a five star review if not for one very important thing: I didn't get the color I thought I was going to be getting. After I noticed the color difference I asked my artist about it and she said it was because the reference nail I'd chosen was faded, that the original color was much richer, pinker, and more saturated like what ended up on my nails, rather than the desaturated, lighter color that I thought I'd chosen. While the final color is pretty, it's not what I wanted, and no one warned me that the color I'd chosen was not accurate. (Please don't think the color difference is due to the lighting or the cat eye effect, I assure you it's not.) I suppose it's also possible that since the nails were on a white card, rather than a fleshy human, they look different? I dunno, this is actually my first time getting gels so I didn't consider that at all. All that said, the shop was clean, the people were friendly, the pricing was reasonable, and I'd certainly go back if I could double check on the accuracy of the colors! In the grand scheme of things this isn't the end of the world. I'll survive with slightly pinker nails. read more

They have no handicapped access at the front entrance there is a giant step. We tried to come ages ago for a pedicare for my mother who has a wheelchair. The staff refused fo open their back door that had a flat entrance even after the owner of the Silverlake location called them and directed them to. My number one and the best nail tech! You'll find me here every 3-4 weeks for gel mani & pedi and it's like my therapy session, it's part of my routine to have some Julie time! The gel stays on and will never budge unless you're on your fourth week and you're clumsy. In that case, it's nature and it's time for a new set of nails. I've been coming here since 2021. I just show them the nail art or color I want and they take care of me. Everyone is great and I highly recommend coming here for some self care. read more

The people here are fine and so a nice job, but clearly the ownership doesn't care about updating the place at all. The massage chairs don't work, look raggedy, are dirty, and the foot baths are super dirty/ old and don't work. So they bring a plastic bucket filled with a few inches of water and still not In the foot spa. It you just need a pedicure I guess it's fine, but if you wan the experience with the massage chair and foot bath, this isn't the spot. read more

My nail tech (didn't get her name) did a beautiful job and patiently helped me match my existing gel mani color by swatching a few different colors until I was happy. Everyone is very professional, there is plenty of space, and the massage chairs are a plus.
