This place is great! The owner was very nice and made sure that we were taken care of the whole time. They use the good hardwood coals that have no taste that ruins the sheesha flavor like the crappy coals you get at most places. We tried their falafel and hummus as well, both of which were really good. I got off of work at 2am looking for something other than fast food. First time at the Nile Cafe. I ordered the combo kabob plate. It came with rice, humus, salad, grilled chicken and what looked like a beef roll? The rice and humus was ok, the humus was kind of bland, and the rice tasted like it had a hint of cinnamon, but the chicken and beef made up for it. Next time I think I am gonna go with the Kabob Sandwich. I'll definitely be back to give it another try. read more

A friend and I were looking for a place to relax and chat after dinner. And boy did we find it! This place is bare bones comfort but super chill! Don't be intimidated by the group of local middle eastern men lounging and smoking by the entrance. That is an indication you are at the right place. The three man staff is amazing. The waiter who does the coal knows his craft and takes care of all customers - not just just regulars. It was a cool evening and as we sat at a table outside, they brought over a heater in case we wanted it. (For two ladies, that was totally appreciated!) This place has such an authentic vibe...customers smoking and playing cards, backgamon, or checkers. And you know you are at an awesome place when the owner comes out and joins you for a cup of turkish coffee! Did not order any food but the Hooka was more than decent. I've had lots of Mediterranean food in my life. This place seems...meh. I'd probably honestly not come back, unless forced by my bf. Pros-- + The cashier guy was nice... Cons-- - The wait was really long for food and no one was even around. No one else was eating either. - There was 1 cook in the back and you can see their kitchen. I love this place for their food. Cheap, tasty and PLENTIFUL. They are GREAT for late night-- open every day until 2AM! I can eat 2 bowls of noodle but it takes two of me to finish one of their dinner plates. The owner is always there. The service might be a little slow sometimes. Just returned. An EXCELLENT place to smoke hookah and chill. Nile Cafe has a single flaw. But the positives first: The gentleman I assume to be the owner was tremendously gracious. The kid serving was also super polite. The prices were more reasonable than I expected. A hookah, tea, and some food ran me 18 dollars. There was a very Middle Eastern feel to the Nile cafe, which appealed to me, given my experience in the region. I assume I appeared out of place, but I was treated well by staff, and unbothered by fellow patrons. I comfortably vibed to music to myself. I needed a relaxing evening and this place delivered. I had a unique bean side dish with my fill of lavash, and found it delicious. Another huge plus is the private parking lot, which is hard to come by in this part of town. My only complaint is that the Nile Cafe is cash only. As I rarely carry it, I nearly found myself in a bind. In any case, the entire experience was excellent. Being local to this place, and having just found it, I intend to be a regular visitor. Next time, I'll bring a book (or laptop as there is free Wi-Fi), and enjoy the chill. Great place! read more

Let me preface this by saying that we came in on a Monday evening at around 6pm, definitely during their 'down time'. The point being, this place was not ready for customers. So we go in and there's basically no one around. Eventually guy shows up and takes our orders. Cash only with ATM in corner. The environment tries really hard to make it a darkly lit chill atmosphere, and for the most part it suceeds. At the same time, when your the only one in the joint it's a bit creepy. A few minutes after our order the server explained that the cook was out and would return soon. Server returns and brings out our food. Food was great and portions were more than great. Had Chicken Kabob, Beef Shawarma and a falafel. This place is probably great on a busier day. Didn't try the hookah at all so I can't speak to that. My favorite hookah place in the whole wide world. Me and my sister come here at least twice a week. Tom is the best!!! He's always so friendly. So is Akman, they always make sure their customer's are taken care of. They stay open late which is a plus 4am and will let you play your own tunes!! We were greeted, helped, and attended to promptly throughout the time we were there. The price is excellent and the hookah tobacco seems like it's a higher quality than other places I've been to. I didn't have anything to eat or drink because I had already eaten, however, I will definitely try something next time because it is very low in price and sounded tasty. Went here with my wife and her old friends. When we looked at the menu, they had "Beach" flavor, which obviously meant 'peach.' The hookah was cheap for $10 each, max two smokers. I am from the NYC area, so $10 is a great deal. They refilled the charcoal twice, which was great. The decor looks like they guy bought a defunct Sushi/Take-out place, and added mirrors and hookah, and reopened. There were upside down umbrellas, along with the stands/altars on the walls from the previous owner. Strange to leave those things up. If you are a lady, go with a guy. Don't go as a group of girls. There were plenty of men there, mainly sitting on the outside. Like I said, it felt like I could have ordered a Sashimi Roll instead of a kebab sandwich. We didn't eat the food here. If you're smart enough, make friends with the staffs so they can provide you with better service. They offer great service anyways, but they can go beyond your expectations asking how's your hookah. Things they've improved on: 1) New coals: CocoNara's makes the hookah last long and that much better. 2) Starbuzz flavors! My favorite would be a hint of mint with Irish Peach 3) Ice TIPS! these are one of the greatest feature of this cafe because you're smoking through chilled tips and enhance the flavors for a winter fresh mouth 4) Good food and good drinks, especially those specialties one. She gives me the total.. $23.46. My dish cost 4.99, my girls dish cost $9.99. I ask her why it adds up to over $23? She says those are their old prices! I HAVE THE MENU IN MY HAND THAT I JUST TOOK FROM A STACK OF OTHER MENUS! I didn't want to argue , I was too hungry. So I take the food and I leave. I can feel their scowling eyes on my back, very uncomfortable. Now the food.. I took two bites of the beef gyro type sandwich I can't remember exactly what it's called.. but I am not just saying this.. it was probably the worst tasting thing I have ever eaten, and I'm praying that I don't get sick. The combo kabob dish was the second thing I have ever eaten. Like I took one bite and thought I have no idea what I just ate. It was rubbery and just awful. Worst thing ever. I'm telling you this for your own safety, do not come here.. I repeat DO NOT COME HERE. You have been warned. I am going to contact the city and notify them of this place. We came here late Friday night (around 1am). We were the only ones in the restaurant side but the hookah side was very popular. We ordered the Beef and Chicken kabob combo, which was really excellent. Beware though, the portions are super huge!! You can definitely split it between 3 people or be prepared to take a box home. Originally came here for the hooka. Ordered blue mist mint. The first round of charcoal had it flowin. We ordered a chicken entree and the food was really good. The second round of coals and the hooka was burnt. Well, it was good while it lasted. They do use the charcoal coals rather than the instant lights. Only thing that seemed off that some of the staff was just sitting around and made their jobs their second priority. I don't think the significant other and staff should be leaning on one another as customers sit around. Other than that, I'd go again. read more

Well....this spot is great for late night hookah it's chill and has decent seating but we all know freaks come out at night, however the freaks or allow me to say frocks were a distraction to my enjoyment. They were loud, drunk and ratchet! This was no fault of the Nile though, they can't help the trash that sometimes comes in after hours. Went here about 2 days ago. My friend and I didn't have anything else to do on a Saturday night and was so bored. So I asked him if there was any hookah lounges around the area that's open that was past 3 am. He said no but I doubted him and began searching thinking to myself there should ATLEAST be one place. And I found one which was this cafe! I lived in OC so didn't know much about LBC. So we just have it a shot and boom! The moment I went inside, chill ass vibes and nice interiors. I liked it the moment I came inside. It's $10 per flavor. I loved it how it was priced by flavor because in my area, it was priced by person. It was my first time going to this cafe so I asked the worker what flavor was the most popular. He said watermelon so I chose that immediately and absolutely loved it! I ordered hot chocolate as well (which was $2.99 no tax) and it was decent. I mean it's hot chocolate what do I expect. We stayed there until closing. I can guarantee you that it's so comfortable and it felt like I was at home. The reason why I give a 4 stars is because it's an outside lounge and it was kind of chilly that night. Yes I was wearing a jacket. Also I wanted to do tricks but the wind was blowing my smoke away. I lowkey believe hookah is made for you to chill and have fun learning how to do new smoke tricks.
