Prefacing this review by saying I am not Nigerian, but I have friends who are and have been very curious to try Nigerian cuisine. Another side note.. I don't do spicy food. I'm a wuss! Having said that, I was really excited to try this. What I wasn't expecting was for it to be small and styled like a cafeteria. This is located in a small strip mall. There was parking, since we came in on a Wednesday. I think that the bulk of their orders are placed online or over the phone and picked up because we were the only ones dining here. Onto what we tried- a little bit of everything! Egusi soup with fufu, jollof rice, coconut rice, goat, mixed meat and chicken. The food was tasty but dry. I'm not sure if it was because it sat for a bit. I thought that it would be prepared at order, but it was already ready and under heat lamps. My favorite was probably the goat; my least favored was probably the egusi soup. The staff were friendly, and the portions were decently sized for the price.

The lady that is either the owner or chef is a rude non welcoming nasty person, I'm sorry to say but I have never encountered a restaurant like this. So unacceptable, drove from Orange city to deal with this rude non welcoming nasty common sense only person running the restaurant when I arrived with ZERO customer and couldn't answer an honest clear answer about the food on the menu

We had been looking for a place to try some Nigerian food and were glad we were able to find a place close to where we are in OC! WHAT WE ORDERED Egusi soup with chicken Okro soup with mixed meat Jollof rice with fish Coconut rice with goat FOOD I don't really have a point of comparison, but everything was delicious! The egusi soup was very well seasoned and one of my favorites of our meal, but as an okra lover I have to say the okro soup was my favorite. The rices were also super flavorful. I do wish the mixed meats were more tender, but that along with the chicken were okay. I really enjoyed the fish and was a huge fan of the goat - not too gamey. SERVICE We had an amazing experience with their service. They asked if it was our first time and they gave us great recommendations, especially when it came to serving size. They came back to check on us to see how we liked it, and were so friendly and welcoming. VIBES Family restaurant type of vibe, nothing fancy, but a good amount of seating to share a meal with friends. They play good music too. BOTTOM LINE Pretty good experience - I'd come back to try more of their menu!

Poundad Yam (left), Cow Leg Meat (Top Center), Mixed Meat ((Right).

Food: 5/5 From the poundad yam, cow leg meat, and mixed meat so wonderfully good. The yam was perfectly soft, the leg meat was huge and spicy. Finally the mixed meat had a nice variation and perfectly spicy. Service: 4/5 Quick and attentive. Ambiance: 2/5 Table, chairs, food. Straight to the point.

Finally tried Nigerian food. I ordered fufu and Egusi with chicken. It was very flavorful and the yam was so soft it melted in your mouth. It was a tad on the greasy side. The meat was so tender!

Fufu Combo

Was craving something i've never tried before and decided to give this place a try! I got the fufu combo with chicken egusi soup. My dad got the beef egusi soup. We were approached with welcoming and kind service. My dad can't do spice and they perfectly accommodated him. The food came with great quantity and quality! I'd love to try the rest of the food on the menu eventually!

Plantains, pounded yam fufu, and egusi soup w/ goat meat

This was my first time trying pounded yam fufu and egusi soup with goat meat. The goat was tough and chewy. It was really hard to bite into. I would probably get chicken next time. The egusi soup was flavorful. The fufu was soft and fluffy. I got a side of fried plantains that were sweet and tender. I placed an order on DoorDash for pickup in the morning before they opened, and it was ready about 30 min after opening. The fufu combo was $26, and the fried plantain was $3. I was asked to show my order confirmation. The food was ready and still warm when I walked in. Only one other family was eating there, so I was helped quickly. I'd come here again and order the same things except change the meat to chicken. I'd recommend this place to others.

Mild Chicken Fufu and Egusi

I was so incredibly excited to try fufu and egusi my expectations were met times 100. It was so delicious and I will definitely be coming back. My best friend and I went to Sumptuous in a whim, sat in my car and dug in. The cashier was very straightforward but she warmed up after handing us our food. So excited to come back :)

The staff always seem annoyed and anxious to kick customers out near closing. Regardless, I'll still keep coming back as it's worth dealing with in exchange for everything else being good. When it comes to thai food, I usually order the basics like pad thai and pad see ew. Both dishes were rich in flavor, perfect savory vs sweet, and not too greasy. I have a bit of a sensitive stomach when it comes to greasy food but their food satisfied my palate! The atmosphere feels rushed rather than relaxing, and the staff seemed eager to turn tables over as quickly as possible. We barely finished eating before it felt like we were being pushed out the door. On top of that, the parking lot is a complete cluster and adds unnecessary stress before you even walk inside. Between the chaotic parking situation and feeling rushed through the meal, it took away from what could have been a great dining experience. Good food, but the atmosphere and service style completely turned me off from wanting to come back.

Still worth the drive to Long Beach to get our fill of very good Cambodian food that I've yet to find up north. Parking was still a challenge and I dropped the family in front of the restaurant first so they can join the waitlist. This time I could only find a spot a few blocks away but by the time I walked back to the restaurant, the family got seated. The menu still had the same great options and prices but starting June 1st prices will be increasing. Definitely understandable in this inflationary environment. My favorite every time has been the loat cha with chicken such that the family knows never to ask what am I getting. We've tried the rest of the menu but the family has standardized on their noodle soups or rice porridge bowls. You can count on lots of ingredients, choices of noodles and rich tasting broths. The cha quai (bread stick) must also be ordered as the perfect pairing for dipping. We also ordered the nom sa-kieu (like a fried meat empananda) again and will continue. We ended our meal with a round of iced coffees for the table, strong and delicious. Not bitter at all. Hopefully we'll be back sooner than later.

Great portions for the price. Everything was spicy enough, matching the selected levels. Food was still hot when it arrived at my place. It was so good. Tom Kha - loved the straw mushrooms that use in it!! The chicken was tender and perfect. Yellow Curry - delightful. Never had jackfruit before so it was interesting having that in the curry, but it looks like chicken, just a gummier texture. Flavor and spice of the curry was great. Loved the bogo free deal! Pineapple Fried Rice - good but a little too spicy for my liking which is my fault for picking level 3 spice, but the container was packed to the brim, making it worth the money. I'll be adding more lime to freshen it up when I finish the leftovers. I'd recommend this place!! Lots of good reviews for a reason. excited to try more over time!

The food from the photos looked amazing so we thought this would be a good place to try. We entered and it is quite small. Expect to have a bit of a wait during rush hour. Lucky for us it was just us two, and it was towards the end of lunch. The inside looked super cute and the aesthetic reminded me of the Philippines. They had these cool lanterns, and metal soda signs in Thai. Plus umbrellas below the ceiling. The menu looked really cool, like it was from a newspaper that is colored. The plates had roosters on it. I loved the ambiance for sure. We saw a couple order a few things I asked what they had ordered. One was grilled pork neck and they suggested the Tom Yum Mama Seafood soup and for dessert mango and sticky rice. I also got green thai tea for drink. We got it all mild because my spice tolerant isn't as good as it use to me, and my mom usually tolerates mild as well in regards to spice. The presentation of the food is great. The Soup was so delicious! I'll definitely order again. It had noodles, like thin ramen. The seafood was delicious with the crunchy pork. It blended so well. I love that the soup was sour and spicy. The pork neck was a bit too spicy, and so I believe they might have not prepared it mild. It was a bit difficult to eat because of it, but still really good. I came in on Saturday with my daughter to enjoy an early dinner. It was around 5pm, and not too many people were dining at that time. I dined in as part of the Yelp Elite Experience (YEE). They greeted me kindly, took my name down and sat us down at one of the small tables against the wall. The YEE include a ramen of my choice and a two-piece appetizer of crispy rice and spicy tuna. I opted for the tonkatsu ramen and ordered an additional one for my daughter even though I knew she wouldn't even finish half. Leftovers for me to enjoy later I also ordered a cranberry juice for her and the rooibos iced tea for myself. I very much enjoyed the iced tea and appreciated the menu recommending it as a perfect companion to ramen. Although it's unsweetened, it had a refreshingly natural sweetness to it. To my ramen, I added black garlic oil and chili paste. The broth was very delicious, flavorful and rich. I'm not a huge pork eater anymore, which I need to remind myself of. I did really enjoy my ramen, however, next time I'll have to try another protein, extra egg instead of pork or give the vegan ramen a try, for my own good. Thank you to our server Mel for being very sweet and patient with my daughter and me. She also explained the service fee very well. Heads up that there is an automatic 17.68% service charge added for dine-in orders. I believe I did see it mentioned on the menu, but the man who sat us (possibly a shift manager?) also pointed it out somewhat quickly. However, there was some confusion upon paying because I had explained to Melanie that I wanted to tip on what the total would have been without the promotion; that's just how I've been taught to tip regardless of there being a free or discounted item on the check. So I was adding it up on my phone to see what "I owed" for service. I confirmed that everything looked good on the receipt and she ran my card without the option of me being able to add an additional tip. Something about how most people won't pay more on top of the included service charge, which I get completely, but I felt bad because I got free items and wanted to leave a more comprehensive tip. I'll have to go back soon and try that vegan ramen and more of that tea

While HiroNori is a SoCal chain, it still feels like a mom and pop restaurant. The crispy rice with tuna was EXCELLENT! Everything you want from crispy rice and spicy tuna. The tonkatsu was delicious! Great depth of flavor. They bring you garlic and spicy paste on the side. I had to add A LOT of spicy paste to get it up to the level I wanted, but while at other restaurants I've lost the broth flavor when adding too much spice, the spicy paste just enhanced the tonkatsu broth. And the pork in the tonkatsu - truly next level. This is probably the best pork I've ever had in a ramen dish. The noodles were also fantastic with the perfect amount of bite.
