    Seared Black Cod

Exceptional food and great for special occasions. The seared cod was cooked to perfection over a nice blend of sauces that added to its freshness. The hanger steak was also great. Personally may opt for a filet mignon next time, as I prefer the cut and taste of that cut more; however, still yummy! The potatoes and broccolini that came with the hanger steak was cooked skillfully with some crispy bits and salted perfectly. The place is quite cozy inside, so I recommend making reservations ahead of time. Overall, a great dining experience!

This was a lobster based pasta. Not at all what I expected and didn't enjoy it.

I have come here twice on business travel. The first time I enjoyed my meal much more. The cocktail was made approximately that time, the food was perfect (a carbonara type dish), deviled eggs and salad. The second time, the deviled eggs were still in the menu and good, but the pasta was different and they claimed to know how to make a whiskey sour with egg white, but they brought out a 16oz glass of liquid I couldn't identify. The ambiance is nice if the weather allows for the patio. It is quant and nice for a team meal but the menu changes often and you can't guarantee that one good meal means the next meal will be good.

We had a wonderful time at Waterman Grille! We came here as a celebration and it did not disappoint. Drinks were innovative and delicious. Food was all very well made. Parking was very ample. Food can be a bit pricy but the environment is very nice.

One of my favorite places in Rhode Island- I love the food, ambiance and the service! I always order the calamari and the burger special they have on the menu (French onion burger this time). I enjoy the great view of the water while dining- and today I had the pleasure of sitting in the upstairs room! Keep it up Waterman Grille! I do miss the big pickles that used to come with the burger, but still delicious. Also, there was a wedding downstairs so it was a bit busier than usual but still excellent and plenty of parking!

We were seated upon arrival for our reservation and given the choice of inside the dining room or in the covered/heated porch. We chose the porch as it was less crowded and quieter and the temperature was pleasant even though outside temperature was below freezing. Our waitress was attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and the specials. We were offered bread which was delicious, soft and crusty with wonderful butter. I got the Mezcal Lime Rickey as a cocktail and we shared the calamari and shoestring fries for the table. Both were great and came out quickly. I got the hanger steak, served with fingerling potatoes and broccolini. For dessert, I had the salted caramel sundae. Fantastic experience.

Update- Waterman Grille is still as good as it has ever been! I absolutely love their burger! I also love their appetizers: calamari, mussels or clams depending on the season! Fantastic drinks, lovely service, great ambiance, and if you get a window seat- a superb view! I always look forward to an evening at Waterman Grille!

Service: wonderful service. Our waiter was very kind and thoughtful. Food: Deviled eggs - very delicious. Nothing super special, but a good classic deviled egg. Korean chicken wings - 10/10! Paired with kimchi that was perfectly cooked and a yummy sauce. Hanger steak - very good but could have used some sort of sauce on the side. I had it cooked medium but next time I would order it medium rare. Cod - soft and moist. Light flavors that were a great balance to the Korean fried chicken wings Shrimp pasta dish - shrimps were cooked perfectly and the pasta was light but creamy Drinks: Eastern influence cocktail- too different for our taste! Very sesame forward Noble Rhode - SO GOOD! Very beautiful color as well :)

Went here in Sept for dinner. The ambiance was charming and even though we didn't sit outside, our spot along the outside edge of the reataurant was cozy and nice. I had the scallops dish with succotash. The succotash was delicious and had a depth of flavor on it that you rarely get to experience. On top of all that, our waiter was also great and a lot of fun. I'd definitely go back for another meal!

    Clam Chowder

Disappointing. However, I may have a skewed view as I came here for a corporate work event as opposed to "regular" dining... My company held their annual "holiday party" here. There was a custom menu with 2-3 options to choose from for apps, entrees and dessert. I picked the clam chowder, marinated filet and chocolate mousse. The clam chowder was very bland and an oddly small portion size served in an equally-odd large bowl. The filet was drowning in red wine and had a peppercorn-like crust which tasted like rocks. It hurt my teeth to bite into it. At least it was cooked to a nice medium, even though I was not asked how I wanted it cooked. The potatoes on the side were extremely salty. And the chocolate mousse was nothing special. The best part was the small crunchy chocolate balls, which there was not enough of. The "regular" dining experience here may be different, however can't say I would recommend for an event :(

Do they have a raw bar...oysters on the half shell?

I have seen them on the menu before, but it might be seasonal.

    Is there a dress code?

There were a variety of outfits worn by the people we sat near from shorts, pants, T-shirts, polos, etc. We ate lunch so it might be helpful to contact the restaurant if you have concerns.

    Is there parking?

Yes Huge lot next to restaurant

    Are there gluten free options?

    Yes

    Are your cheeses pasteurized?

Yes, most of our cheeses are pasteurized although sometimes we have special cheese featured on a cheese plate that is not. If that is the case, your server would be able to let you know.

    Are there vegan options?

Yes! We have a delicious Roasted Cauliflower entree which consists of a cauliflower-almond puree, red quinoa, raisin emulsion and toasted almonds.

Am I able to bring in my own bottle?

A BYOB website says YES, but there is a $15 corkage fee.

I was a big fan of the fresh hot lobster, warm buttery roll, and the creaminess from the mayo which you don't usually see on a hot lobster roll. The Pollock Fish & Chips was a bit of a let down. The Pollock Fish is super batter-heavy. I guess I'm more of a purist because I wanted to really taste the fresh fish but the batter was too thick for my liking. First of all, the restaurant itself is small but very cute, cozy, and full of lovely New England-y Sea-Themed decor. We were promptly seated and had our order taken for our drinks & food - I had heard good things about this place, so I got a decent amount of food items, including: Lobster Roll - Arguably the best lobster roll I've ever had so far in my life. The brioche bun for it was soooo fluffy, soft, and a perfect complement to the big, juicy chunks of lobster that were seasoned and buttered JUST right. Also came with hefty and well-seasoned fries. New England Clam Chowder - Came with salted pork and potatoes in addition to the quahog clams. It was deliciously creamy and soothing to slurp on and the chunks within were all so tender and a great contrast. Clam Cakes - Added them to the Clam Chowder order for an extra $8. Big, hefty, doughy balls that were perfectly fried outside and ooey gooey within. Fish & Chips - Big, hefty fish that was juicy & delicious with a great crunch on the outside! Similarly came with the 'chips', or the hefty, well-seasoned fries that the lobster roll also came with. Oh yeah, pardon me, forgetting to mention the drinks! We ordered the Briny Martini and the Harbor House Punch! The Martini was great for a stronger drink and the Punch was a nice cocktail for anyone preferring something sweeter and fruitier. When it came to the food, service, and dining experience...it couldn't have been better! Everything was incredibly delicious and definitely worth ordering. This memorable experience then reached exceptional circumstances, however, as while we were in the middle of dining here and enjoying our delicious food, there was a shooting occurring just up the street at Brown University. I wish to commend the staff at Dune Brothers, who looked out for mine and their other patrons' safety and sheltering us in their restaurant as we all nervously waited for more information on what exactly was going on that evening. At their front patio, they had the World Cup game playing, but the back patio felt cozier so we opted for that. The inside though was a strong second since the lighting is very low, creating a cool and calm environment. Walking through the restaurant to get to our table made me realize that each table is unique, no two are decorated the same or have the same furniture. It was a hot day but the overhead mesh cover blocked out a lot of the sun. Our waitress made us feel very welcome from the start and told us about their drink and food specials. My friend ordered Guatemalan beer as well as a Spanish beer. For food, we ordered the plantain fries, octopus, calamari, and shrimp salad, and grilled lamp chops. The seafood salad came out first. According to the menu, it was going to be paired with cornbread. It looked like sourdough bread but had a far denser consistency. I was expecting the salad to have lots of shrimp to act as a filler but surprisingly, it was about 60% octopus, 25% calamari, 10% shrimp, and 5% onions. The seafood was very flavorful, tasted fresh, and cooked perfectly. The portion size was great for two. Next came the plantain fries, which I was least impressed with as it was essentially fried plantain chunks. I think it would have been better if they were cut into smaller pieces that can be easily dipped and consumed in one bite. The plantain was gently ripe, so just a little sweet and the dipping sauce was like a less sour sour cream. Lastly, the lamp chops came out and the presentation was wonderful. They were a bit skinnier and less tender than that I was expecting, but flavor wise they were good. We enjoyed the food, ambiance, and service here.
