Avenue cafe was a great spot for breakfast. The food was fresh and tasty, the portions were generous, and the service was friendly and attentive. I loved their Belgium waffles with a side of bacon. It went extremely well with the syrup and butter nice and hot. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable, making it a nice place to start the day before exploring Las Vegas. If your staying at MGM I would definitely recommend Avenue Cafe to get some good breakfast. The pancakes banana foster pancakes are A1 delicious! Stacked 4 layers high topped with banana, whipped cream and a topped with caramel. Definitely one of the best pancakes around. Club sandwich was a little overpriced but definitely stacked mile high with thin slices of roasted turkey. I would suggest serving less turkey and lowering the price considering I couldn't even fit the sandwich in my mouth. The side of fries was made to perfection. Cesar salad was delicious with thin slices of rich parmesan cheese and bits of thick bacon for that addional saltiness, which went great with the club sandwich. Fresh squeezed orange juice was overpriced at $8.50 but we are in Vegas so should be expected. Overall I would definitely come back. read more

We ended up having our traditional Sunday morning steak and eggs breakfast here at Avenue Café during our annual NCAA hoops trip, and after this visit, it'll likely be a one-and-done from my POV. We had a bit of a bad omen right from the start, our table wasn't level, and every time we went to cut our food, the whole thing would wobble. At one point it shook enough to spill coffee all over the table. Ugh. On the positive side, the service was great, shoutout to Jose, who took good care of our group, stayed on top of things, and kept the coffee refills coming. The overall vibe felt pretty generic. The red and yellow motif, along with the very uniform tables and chairs, gave everything a somewhat cookie-cutter look, almost like a sister restaurant to Denny's. Not necessarily a bad thing, just not what you might expect on the Strip. As for the food, the steak itself was underwhelming. It was noticeably fatty and didn't quite hit the mark. Very disappointed with the service we received at Avenue Café inside MGM Grand. Our server, Yohannes, barely checked on our table throughout the meal and seemed completely disengaged. After we finished eating, we asked for the check and ended up waiting about 15 minutes. We had to ask three different employees before we finally received it. There was absolutely no sense of urgency, and it felt like our table was being ignored. To make matters worse, when the check finally arrived, Yohannes didn't say a word. We decided to drop into the Avenue for a quick breakfast, and from the onset of our experience it felt as though we were a burden more than a patron. For starters, our hostess had a poor attitude and was unfriendly throughout our time waiting with her. She made us feel unwelcome and ultimately put a poor taste in my mouth, so to speak. Next, our server decided it would be best to make us feel rushed and like we were inconveniencing him, instead of trying to help us out with understanding the menu and daily specials. My wife ordered a meal that was technically on special for Monday, and instead of informing us of this, he decided to mark it as the full price version. It is what it is, but this was terrible service. Then, he completely became irritated once we ordered the unlimited mimosa special. In the end, it took over 40 minutes for my wife to get 2 mimosas, and after he rushed us to pay, he offered one final "would you like another one?" We all got different variations of the "American Breakfast" -- the server was extremely helpful with ordering as I have 2 major food allergies and they were very accommodating. I love that! Made me feel safe from any issues. The food itself was pretty good - nothing special but it hit the spot. I would say it is slightly overpriced for what it is but that's Vegas for ya. Getting the check at the end of the meal did take an extremely long time but it's because our server was very busy with a huge full section. Located in MGM Grand hotel and casino. We wanted breakfast and this restaurant was conveniently located in our hotel. There was a line to go into the cafe. I believed this was a good sign. After @20 minute wait, we were sat in the backside of the restaurant, near the bar. It took awhile for our waitress to come around. We placed our order and then our server disappeared. We wondered what happened?! Our coffee and water sat unfilled. A different waiter brought our simple food order. I asked for jelly and some brown sugar for my oatmeal. It never came. No refill on coffee. I finally stood up to find help. I ended up asking the host in front for a coffee refill. She went to get our server. They talked and wouldn't you know it? Our server disappeared again. No coffee. By this time we wanted our bill. There was another customer in the booth next to us and she was also looking for the same waiter. She wanted to take out her leftovers and leave with her young son. That was it. I went up to the host for the third time and asked to speak with the manager. Surprise, surprise! Then our waitress appeared and apologized for not helping us. Sorry, too late. We paid our bill and kindly left a tip for the others who helped us. Service with our waitress is 0 out of 5 stars. He was annoyed that I ordered their bottomless mimosas and then got annoyed that I asked if I could have cranberry juice instead. The answer was no and that was fine, no need to be rude.
