Service is great. But the smell when you walk in is the best!!!! Small, family owned and run, Midwest, South Suburb pizza place! This is some great thin crust. Slightly sweet sauce. Excellent cheese and sausage. Prices are affordable and the food is fresh and it's quick!

First time here, it's definitely older pizza tavern vibes, hole in the wall. Dark in here, apparently they don't always have waiters so you have to order at the counter , they do bring the food to you once ready. But over all the pizza is good, would come back again. Not sure if they sell alcohol they do have a bar but no signs advertising beers

Quick update. I felt adventurous and tried their thin crust pizza instead. Definitely not as good as their stuffed pizza. Their thin crust pizza was a bit too saucy and I felt like the sauce tasted too much like tomato pasta sauce. The cheese also didn't do it for me this time. Stick to their stuffed crust pizza.

We waited until March then looked for a venue to renew vows and have a celebratory meal with family and friends. As we both had been to Bella Mia several times together it was a short search. We originally planned the event with a former employee who left the restaurant as the date, (March 21st), was approaching. Randy the owner then took over. He made several suggestions different from what we'd originally planned, including changing the area of the renewal of vows and where our wedding officiate would be in front of the guests, but they turned out to be perfect!! The event was nothing short of fantastic! My wife had tears in her eyes much of the service! The food was spectacular, and everyone raved about it! Randy and his staff gave us a wedding to remember, and we are eternally grateful for what Bella Mia did for us and couldn't be happier that was the venue we chose!!!

Her Chicken Vesuvio was very good, and the Shrimp DeJonghe appetizer was enjoyable, especially with the bread. Unfortunately, everything declined once the entrées arrived. My porterhouse steak was placed on the table rather abruptly, and the cut looked more like a T-bone, with the filet portion nearly nonexistent. The quality of the meat was poor and extremely tough -- barely edible. I rarely ask for A1 sauce with a steak, but it was the only way I could get through it. The baked potato was dry, and while the side salad was fresh, it felt more like cafeteria-quality than something from a restaurant at this price point. Shortly after dropping off the entrées, the waitress quickly asked how the food was. I responded, "just okay," but she immediately walked away, not giving the impression that she was interested in hearing anything further. That set the tone for the rest of the service. What made the situation more disappointing was seeing the table next to us receive the same porterhouse. Their steak appeared nearly twice the size of mine, had a clearly defined filet portion, and they were able to cut into it effortlessly. The inconsistency was very noticeable. After that, service was largely absent. We waited about 20 minutes trying to locate our waitress Dee with no success. The owner did stop by and was very friendly when we asked for A1 sauce, but overall the service remained slow. It took roughly 30 minutes to get a water refill and another 30 minutes to receive our check. The explanation given was that she had been in the back handling a difficult order. For the price and expectations that come with ordering a porterhouse, this experience did not meet the standard. While there were a few bright spots, the inconsistency in food quality and service makes this a 2-star experience at best.

Peace and love, everyone!!…read more It's been a long minute since I left a review, so I'm happy to talk about a new food place! My wife and I finally ordered from Paisans Pizza in Oak Lawn, something we've been wanting to do for a long minute. As I have been working out and watching how much I eat since December, I very much look forward to having a 'big back day', as my daughter says! So the online ordering process was very easy. I ordered a medium cheese pizza, a medium sausage pizza, the Southwestern egg rolls, and finally some garlic parmesan wings. When I went to pick up the food, it took a few minutes to find a parking space as there are no spaces for pick-up orders. But when I went in there, nice ambiance with the planes, the cars, and the camper, which is where I had to pick up my order from. The place was jumping (I was there about 6pm on Saturday), and it seemed like a nice overall vibe. Ok so I pick up my order and get back to the crib! First, the pizza: both pizzas were really good. Nice amount of cheese, nice amount of sausage, for both, nice amount of sauce. Now the pizza was good, let me be clear, but on the box it says the 'best pizza in the world'. So my honest opinion is that is it better than all the other pizza places in the area (Domino's, Nonna's, etc)? YES...easily! Is Paisans better than Beggars Pizza? I say yes, my wife says no. Either way, we both agree that they have some good pizza! The garlic parmesan wings lived up to the hype. Crispy wings, nice amount of seasoning, not overpowering. As for the Southwestern egg rolls, this was the only thing I ordered where I was like 'meh'. The shell wasn't really crispy, I think it was a bit bland, and the sauce cup had opened up and spilled in its takeout box. Put it this way...Chili's Southwestern egg rolls are much better, by comparison, in terms of flavor. All in all, this was not a bad eating experience. The food was good all around, and for me, only the egg rolls could have been better. Also, the food was a little on the expensive side....so that is something to keep in mind also. So, does this mean we'll be back? Absolutely! We both love the pizza, and in fact, it's so good that we've hardly ever tried anything else. When we did stray off the pizza selection, the food has all been delicious. Contrary to popular belief, "Chicago Style" pan pizza isn't typically eaten every day by folks that live here. Everyone would be 1,000 pounds. The wife and I go to Louisa's probably 6-10 times a year because it's incredibly filling, but it NEVER disappoints. The service is always fantastic. I'm 99% sure the same family has owned it (Louisa's family - God rest her soul), so the whole "family vibe" is on full tilt at this place and it shows in their service. Servers who care about your business because the business itself is more than just a part time job. The restaurant is quaint, and is perfectly suited for either a date night or a full-on family function. Their side room is plant big enough to host a private party or event, and I know they often book that room for exactly that. But the real focus for us is the pizza. The pans that are used over and over again. The buttery crust that is always crispy and not too think. The ripe tomatoes that are always seasoned perfectly... the real of the show at Louisa's is their sausage. It's literally like none other we've ever had and we love it!! This place is a must try for locals that love pan pizza!

Let me tell you about my 2nd time in this Cooper's Hawk... It was so impressive that I got a membership. I wanted to check it out for lunch with a friend. We went on the Thursday before Easter and to my surprise it was pretty busy! We sat at the bar. My friend has a membership already so we were able to drink one of her bottles with our lunch. Ok, we ended up drinking two of her bottles. LOL. They chilled her bottle in a chiller table side and put a little garnish on our glass for the sparkling wine we chose. The blackened salmon was terrific! It was soooo delicious. I had the lobster, crab bisque it was ok. I enjoyed our wine and the vibe of the restaurant. We sat at the bar and our bartender's name was Megan! She was terrific. I was even able to taste one of the wines I had my eye on. I was told I can try two wines every visit. Stop it. A tasting per month, a tasting at the table? I can't wait to come back.

The meals were flavorful, well-prepared, and thoughtfully presented, while the wine selection was equally impressive. Everything we ordered was fresh and enjoyable. Our waitress was exceptional -- attentive, professional, and genuinely accommodating throughout the evening, despite being clearly stretched thin. She maintained a positive attitude and provided excellent service while managing responsibilities that extended far beyond serving tables. What was disappointing, however, was witnessing the waitstaff also being expected to perform bus boy duties. Requiring servers to constantly clear and reset tables while simultaneously attending to guests creates an inefficient and, frankly, tacky business model for a restaurant that presents itself as an upscale dining establishment. It places unnecessary strain on employees, diminishes the overall guest experience, and makes the lack of adequate support staff highly noticeable. The waitresses handled the situation with professionalism and grace, but management should seriously reevaluate this operational approach and invest in properly supporting their staff. While the food and drinks were very good, I will not return until this issue is addressed.
