Hands down the best Indian food I've had in Colorado. Honestly, perhaps the best I've had in years. Nirvana is located in Canon City, about an hour drive from home. I heard I had to check this joint out and I'm glad I did. Despite being the only diner in this beautiful restaurant, my meal was nothing short of great. I ordered the chicken vindaloo hot with some garlic naan. Everything cooked to perfection and the flavors and spices are ten-out-of-ten. Skip the fast food joints on 50 and head downtown for some great food, and support local! read more

The food was average but what really bothered us was the service. There was no particular kindness, and when they were closing and we were also finishing out r meal, it was practically an argument to be allowed to wrap up our meal. This place is probably fine for takeout. They should maybe reconsider whether they really want to operate a sit-down establishment, since they don't seem to enjoy it. read more

Nirvana, is the perfect name. You would have to go to Denver to find anything close to the fabulous food. I absolutely love spices and flavors, and Nirvana NEVER disappoints. Rich, authentic, full of flavor foods from India. I have always enjoyed everything I have ordered right down to the dipping sauces. The drinks are good as well. The portions are just enough for lunch tomorrow, theirs food only gets tastier over night. You want some kick, well This Indian restaurant has you covered in heat levels 1-5, and five will make you sweat. It can get loud when it is full, and it has a moderately pricey bill. I can honestly say I CRAVE this place. We showed up late 8:14pm we were the only ones there, greeted with smiles, we were seated, and waited on with out a second thought. I'm confident that this place has the best indian food in the area but It's not the very best that I've been to. The staff here was very friendly and courteous. They do follow the social distancing and mask protocols here, evident by how spread out the tables are and how the staff properly wears their masks. Unlike some places where they don't cover their nose or hang the mask on one side of their ear, like wtf? Lol We called in advance in case we needed reservations and fortunatley it wasn't required. Unlike Nj they only allow outdoor dining and only by reservations unless you're at a diner. Anyways onto the food Chef Salad - 9/10 PROS: Tasted good, lemon twist was a addition and unknown season which looked like pepper was a nice touch. Looked good to eat with all the colors that pops out of you. Not bad for $4. CONS: Would've been cool if I had the option to add a couple of pinches of some spices to give it a kick. Chicken Wings - 9/10 PROS: 6 pieces for $6 I would say was a good deal. I've known places with less and cost more. Tasted very good. The sprinkle of garnish made it a little more appealing. CONS: Nothing that stuck out to me. The dish was forgettable, nothing amazing that I would say, "gotta go to Nirvana for the wings" Lamb Curry - 9/10 PROS: The sauce/gravy was f'amazing. We were so happy to have new Indian place so close to home. Situated on Main St. in Cañon (between 4th and 5th) in what used to be a brewery. The space is just beautiful inside, with several tables and a long gorgeous bar (looked fully stocked). We sat down and were promptly greeted by our server and the manager. We ordered a Chicken Tikka Masala and a Chicken Curry (both medium spice level) with some garlic naan. I must say it was all wonderful. The flavors were rich and tasty. Spice level was good (could probably take high spice next time). They did say they could accommodate take out. All in all it was a great spot. It will go in our regular rotation. read more

Yes, it's cañon city.. and yes, this outpost of delicious north Indian food is NOT a mirage. Food is always fresh and flavorful and...they will actually make it spicy! Favorites are butter chicken, Chana masala, and their take on Chicken Chili (hard to find in the US let alone mountain west - A+). The tandoori shrimp is also 100% on point. Naan is pricey but worth it. Worth a stop when you're over the region's touristy burgers and mediocre Italian food. read more

Like even better than what we had in NYC or at home in Atlanta. The garlic naan is light and savory, the rice cooked to perfection and spiced well, and the chicken tikka masala (spice level 3) is delicious - the chicken is so tender and the sauce had us nearly licking the bowl. The food is excellent and the atmosphere is very nice, but the guys "serving" you are some of the grumpiest and reluctant servers I have ever met. It's like they came to the USA and really hate being In the restaurant business. We have eaten here about 6 times, so it's not an isolated incidence. Their sister restaurant, In Colorado Springs on Centennial, is way better on service. I really wonder if they have ever eaten at other restaurants to see how the Waite staff is supposed to perform? Either way, it needs improving. They should eat at Momo's and see what excellent Service their people give. read more

Sorry to rain on the party, but...I thought it was just OK. The wait staff are not trained. They were brusque and inhospitable. 'No you cannot have Chai Tea without milk." The Vegetable Biryani was maybe 5% vegetables and the rest very oily rice. The breads are good. There were flies buzzing around the dining room.
