Waited until they had been open for a while as I expected their would be some service issues based on previous reviews and the fact that they had just opened. Went for lunch and there were three other tables with customers. Service was still an issue. It's not painfully slow but everything seemed to take a while. The pre-set lunch menu is obviously faster and easier to prepare but most of the dishes that came out were just warm so I assume they're preparing ahead and just not keeping the food properly hot. The portions were small but we didn't go away hungry. The flavors were good and everything was cooked properly but I would be so much happier with a small lunch buffet. It'd be less for the staff to have to deal as customers could serve themselves and it allows for trying many different dishes. While I thought the food was good, it would not be my first choice for Indian in the area. read more

Outstanding. Delicious food, great service, nice ambiance, reasonable prices. What's not to like? What I liked especially were the daily dinner specials with a choice of two entrees, served with rice and naan. Fantastic addition to the Olney dining scene. Very inviting place with good service and delicious food. Had the samosa as an appetizer. Perfectly done with awesome flavors. My wife and I split the Dinner Special. We ordered chickent tikka masala and the lamb curry. It came with two dishes of rice and plain naan. We ordered an extra garlic naan and I had a mango lassi to drink. Every single thing was absolutely delicious. We couldn't have been happier. When we were done, the owner came out to see if we were happy and the owner's son chatted a while about the food and the history of their restauranting endeavors. This a hidden gem. Sauces are very good. We tried the curry, tikka masala and butter chicken and all were good. I'm very critical of some of these dishes so the main downside is that the chicken didn't simmer long enough in the sauces to take in all of the flavor. I went for lunch, though I think if I went again I'd go during dinner because they have a $15.99 dinner special including 2 entrees, naan, and rice. New Indian restaurant in Olney and it's a winner. Opening specials were flavorful and the 'heat' is just right for all palates. You can still feel your lips after your meal! We had bahji's and complimented them with a mango chutney- it was Devine! Also sampled pakora and veggie somosa. Pakora was supper light and flavorful- samosa also fresh and well filled with potatoes and peas. Nice savory aroma with cumin and turmeric coming thru in the end. Rice was perfectly prepared and served with our palak dishes. Shrimp was done just right and not rubbery. Chicken palak super moist as well. This place is a winner!!!! Great Indian cuisine loved the flavor definitely will be coming back, only suggestion I have for improvement would be to try to monitor the phones more. They do tell you in the voicemail they aren't always by the phones but if they could be it would make the restaurant even better. I carried out but the decor inside was gorgeous and staff was friendly. Garlic naan is a few cents more but I would try it. Asked for my butter chicken spicy and it was absolutely perfect! I promise you this place has gotten better and better over the last year. We judge a place on its Chicken Korma and this place does not disappoint. We have had their chicken korma, chicken tikka masala, saag paneer and many others and we have to say its probably the best Indian around. They also have an AMAZING Goan fish curry. They use salmon which is melt in your mouth tender and delicious. I havent had a bad meal there yet. Please keep ordering food from them! This is an excellent restaurant. We have been there in person several times and used delivery service from Door Dash and the chef has never failed us. High quality food. This week's gem was Navratan Korma, but we have also had excellent chicken dishes here too. Just be aware that even if you request things to be mild, there will be plenty of yummy spice to it. I have come here several tines for the set-price lunch, and highly recommend it. The set-price lunch includes rice, salad and two dishes (protein or veggie) from a limited menu. The first time I came was during their opening week, and they offered both chicken and lamb among the dishes for the set-price lunch. However, since then, the animal protein has been limited to chicken. I would like to see more variety in the animal protein. The food is flavorful, well-cooked, and fresh. This is totally unacceptable given the current COVID-19 situation, and is likely a Montgomery County health code violation. Finally, an Indian restaurant in Olney! We went on Sunday night after Thanksgiving at 6pm. The dining room - which is not large, and sits only about 40 or so - was fairly empty. Service, therefore, was expeditious and prompt. It appeared only one server was on the floor, with a secondary server handling takeout/phones. Nevertheless, service was polite, quick and anticipatory of our needs. I have no reason not to anticipate similar service upon our return during a busier time. Food was excellent. The flavors were mixed well, the spices (e.g., cumin, fenugreek; not piquancy ("heat" from Capsaicin)) were subtle but present, and the dishes were appropriately "hot" (i.e., piquancy) in accordance with their traditional presentation. The food temperature was good upon arrival to the table. There is beer and wine available - this is not a brewpub or wine cellar. Do not expect anything other than mid-shelf, ordinary alcoholic beverages. And that was appropriate, given a short list of available drinks does not distract the waitstaff, nor the kitchen, from doing their jobs. The decor was appropriate. Visited Nirvana after my husband delivered from there while doing postmates. I'm a sucker for good Indian food so I couldn't wait. We order Shrimp Vindalu , Lamb Palak, and garlic naan. Everything was absolutely delicious and all freshly made. The Lassi we ordered to drink was a bit watery for my liking but overall very good and I will definitely be visiting again very soon. The reason I didn't give 5 stars is because the service could have been better. I had ordered over the phone and once arrived I was so excited to be trying the food I mistakenly handed the cashier the wrong card. Instead of saying it declined in attempted to run the card several times until finally saying " Card has no money pay cash " at that moment was when I realized I had presented the wrong card and immediately apologized and presented valid payment but his attitude from start to finish wasn't very kind of warm hearted at all. I gave this restaurant two chances, once when they had just opened and the second time a month after opening. I was really hoping for a great Indian restaurant in Olney. I love Indian food and my boyfriend is Indian, so I am pretty familiar with good, authentic Indian food. I got the butter chicken, which is my go-to dish at any Indian restaurant. The chicken tasted very odd like dark meat chicken (maybe thigh meat?) not white chicken breast, even though we specified we wanted white meat chicken. Furthermore, the sauce was really disappointing, tasting like tomato soup instead of traditional butter chicken sauce. The portions were also small for the $15.99 price. The garlic naan was good, and so was the rasmalai dessert (reason for two stars instead of one). That said, all portions of everything were on the small side. Sixty dollars later (for two people) we left feeling unhappy with our meals and will not return. The service was below average as well, unfriendly and inattentive, but I could overlook those things if the food was good. As someone else said, unfortunately, Olney STILL needs a good Indian restaurant. read more
