What a gem this place is! So glad we found it! The location was a bit out of the way for us and it was so worth the drive. The food was delicious, and incredibly fresh. I ordered the kabob plate with chicken, beef, and lamb. The meat was perfectly seasoned and cooked (grilled). The baba ganoush on the side was creamy and delicious. The tahini sauce was so fresh. My son got the chicken schwarma and it was fresh, hot and the pita wrap was perfect. My husband ordered the falafel and the Nish! Salad, all great. I had lentil soup on the side and oh my gosh! It was so perfect, especially on a cold night. And the servers (we had two) were attentive and friendly. Great place! read more

We came here for the first time and ordered the veggie platter, the lamb gyro plate, and the mixed kabob plate with lamb, beef, and chicken. These came with hummus, rice, and a salad. We obviously got too much food for two but it was all so delicious and we love left overs. Everything was cooked well and the service was good. Plus, it is a ton of food. Saw the many positive posts about Nish! Mediterranean Grill so decided to order out! It was super fresh and delicious. My husband (who isn't a huge Mediterranean fan) loved it! He got the chicken shwarma wrap w fries. It was super tasty! (Forgot to get a photo before it was devoured. ) I ordered the small Nish meza sampler. It was perfect and yummy!! We were the only dine-in customers on a Sunday night at 6pm. The waitresses arguing at our table about how to take our order was apparently supposed to be cute(?) Not amused. We waited an hour for two gyro sandwiches. When we pointed this out, the waitress said, "the cook is anal and has to do all the take out orders before yours." We walked out. She followed us into the parking lot and yelled at us. We had paid for the appetizer. We've eaten there over the years but we're not going back. Accidentally stumbled on this cute Mediterranean place while trying to find shelter from a storm/flood on the way home. We weren't even particularly hungry, but the smell was so enticing. We ended up inside, greeted by a very friendly server who was eager to give us suggestions! Get the lamb and the garlic sauce he told us, so we complied and got the lamb, beef, and chicken plate as well as a shrimp kabob plate which was more than enough for 4 people. A nice surprise and great discovery for a new lunch spot! From the reviews, it looks like the restaurant has just been opened recently. The inside is spacious, but not much to look at. I wouldn't be surprised if it used to be a Chinese buffet before. For lunch from Monday-Friday, they offer buffet for $15/person including a drink of your choice. When you come in, go straight to the register to pay for your meal before picking your seat. The owner, who was also my cashier that day, was really friendly and welcoming. If you don't want the buffet, you also have the option of ordering off the menu. But seriously, the buffet is a huge bargain. You get pretty much everything on the menu for just a fraction of the price. With so many choices to choose from, I opted for my usuals, tabouleh salad, mediterranean rice, and a variety of shish kabob. My most favorite has to be the chicken shish kabob. The meat is seasoned perfectly and full of flavor. They also offer 2 types of soup during the lunch buffet. I tried both the tomato basil soup and lentil soup. Couldn't complain about either one. But the lentil soup was tastier and healthier. Overall, it is a great spot for lunch if I'm in the area again. Being a family run business, they do care a lot about the customers. I was floored when I realized this spot that fellow Yelpers were raving about was actually in River Oaks. A fab Mediterranean restaurant in River Oaks?!! Say what?!!!! After picking myself up from the floor, my hubbs and I went for lunch, so we opted for the $15 lunch buffet which includes a fountain drink. There are so many delicious options on the buffet. I tried almost everything --- each dish I tried was loaded with flavor. There's a good balance of meat and veggie options, so all eaters can easily find various dishes to try. You'll also find various fresh, in-house prepared sauces and pita and zaatar bread {I don't think the breads are made in-house}. Don't forget the dessert on the buffet. The day we went, there was fresh fruit, perfect rice pudding (I'm rice pudding "snob"), and a crispy, not too sweet fritter coated in syrup that did not disrupt the crispiness. ......full disclosure - I actually ate 1/2 a soup bowl of rice pudding along with three fritters :-D Service was excellent. The friendly staff is warm and welcoming. The restaurant is clean, spacious, and has a nice homey vibe. As soon as you walk in, the atmosphere leads you to expect home-made Mediterranean food, and that is exactly what you get. The parking lot is spacious. This new restaurant is starting to become pretty popular. By the time we finished eating, the restaurant was getting very busy. This was my wife, daughter, and I first time at Nish. It came across my wife's yelp a while back and it crossed her mind to look it up again after church. So we made our way to River Oaks, TX to see and experience Mediterranean the Nish way. We've had Mediterranean before today, but haven't had it since we moved here. Nish, definitely did not disappoint and the food was well seasoned, the humus was delicious too. The lentil soup was very tasteful as well as my wife raving about their falafel being made just right and wasn't dry as most places that we've tried in the past. The food is great compared to other places nearby, but the service as of late has been horrible which is sad. I've seen a fight breakout between a customer and who I assume is the owner in which the owner stepped outside to fight with the customer. Now we have the same owner yelling at my wife and waiting an hour for a to-go order. We understand being understaffed will cause a delay in orders, but to have pent up frustration and take it out on the customer is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. If you cannot meet the demands of lunch and dinner hours due to staffing, re-evaluate yalls business plan to ensure both the customer and staff is happy. While we will not be back due to our experience, we hope this business will thrive and figure out their staffing issue as the food here is great and has been a nice addition to the River Oaks area. read more

I love the lemon mint smoothies here. We got the chicken shawarma plate and a kebab sandwich. The chicken shawarma plate came with salad, rice, pickles, a jalapeno, hummus, and some garlic sauce. It was a good deal for the amount of food. If you're used to traditional toum sauce you might want to ask for a sample of the garlic sauce before you get it - its not going to be the same flavor at all but its pretty good. I would not recommend getting the kufta kebab sandwich if you aren't fond of lamby-flavor. Although its a mix of both beef and lamb I feel like other places its more beefy so those who don't like lamb can still eat it. I enjoyed it but my friend couldn't stomach the flavor and then I slowly noticed the taste kind of creeping up on me - I like the food here but I would not get this sandwich again. I don't have pictures of the sandwich! This was also our second time here and the first time we got the mixed grill and chicken kofta kebab plates I believe and those were both really good. They also have knafeh, it wasn't bad but I would say if you've ever been to big dash then don't both getting it here because it won't compare! read more
