We were looking for a place to eat and while our friends were driving around for a parking spot, they happened to find this place. We decided to go to this place after wandering aimlessly on Magnolia. The vibe was hip and I felt incredibly underdressed, but they took us in anyway. It took about 5-10 minutes for us to get seated. We wanted to sit in the patio because it was such a beautiful night, but I forgot how much mosquitoes loved me and my husband. By the end of the night, my husband had two mosquito bites on his forehead lol We all shared the grand meze plate and then each got our own dishes. The meze plate was such a good call because we got a mix of everything and we got unlimited bread. The bread was so soft and warm! I think we got it refilled like 4 times. We all ordered cocktails. I had the lions milk. It was nicely balanced and had so many lovely flavors, both savory and sweet. For my main plate, I ordered lamb. It came with grilled veggies and red onions. Really delicious! Our friends ordered beyti kebab and the saslik kabab. I think it was saslik. I want to say these are the two winners of the night. Service was great. Our server, Derek (not sure which way he spells his name) was so polite and gave great recommendations. Bummed, but not counting this spot out just yet. I really wanted to love it. It's trendy, in a great location (minus the street parking situation), and had a lot of potential. We came in for lunch shortly after they opened, and honestly, nothing we tried made us feel like we had to come back. That said, the service was great, which is always appreciated. The atmosphere is nice, and I do like that you can easily come dressed up or keep it casual. They also have a bar and patio area, which we didn't get to check out this visit. Since dining in, I've seen a lot of glowing reviews online, so we may eventually give it another try and order different items to see if our experience changes. Met some coworkers for a lunch and they said it was really good. I thought the bread they bring to the table was dry and didn't come with any oil or dip. Had a good flavor just dry. Got to try the beet dip which was way better than expected! My Turkish Doner Wrap (lamb) didn't have any sauce and the meat was dry. The hummus was delicious and everything tasted fresh. 5/5 Which I certainly don't mind waiting for food that's made to order, fresh, exquisite Adana Kebab was juicy and flavorful. 5/5 My little one loved their hummus and he even did his happy dance. Turkish Breakfast! Had a lunch outing planned with our group and when we noticed Beren also serves breakfast until 11, we switched up the itinerary a bit to give breakfast a try I have fond memories of simit when I visited turkey, so the Classic Ottoman jumped out at me - a Turkish Simit bagel with sausage, cheese, and mixed greens. I loved it as it brought back good memories of savory and simple breakfasts in Turkey. Coupled with a strong Turkish coffee, I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast here. After inquiring about the popular items on their lunch and dinner menu, the chef was also nice enough to bring out an Adana Kebab for us, which was cooked to perfection. We were greeted by Charlie, the owner, who warmly explained that his menu is built on traditional family recipes from Turkey. We started with the Babaghanoush--delicious, smoky, and served with fresh, homemade bread. Next came the Feta Roll--crispy eggrolls stuffed with creamy feta cheese--absolutely perfect in flavor and texture. The Beet & Orange Salad was a refreshing mix of spinach, cucumbers, and a bright, flavorful dressing. For mains, we tried the Adana Kebab, served with rice and a small salad. The kebab was perfectly seasoned, juicy, and bursting with flavor. We also ordered the Beyti Kebab, which features the same Adana Kebab wrapped in delicate pita bread, sliced, and served over a bed of rich garlic yogurt, alongside rice and a fresh, well-seasoned house salad. Dessert was pure bliss. The Pistachio Baklava--so fresh and flaky--came in four generous pieces and was unbelievably good. Honestly, they should package it for shipping! We also tried the Cyprus Gold, which took things to another level with its combination of walnuts, cream, coconut, and a hint of orange--absolutely divine. TLDR: We were really excited to try this place, but it was a bit underwhelming. We wouldn't be opposed to returning, but aren't really eagar to do so any time soon. Possible they are still working out the kinks of a new restaurant. The decor and ambiance of the place are great - I absolutely love the color scheme and intimate vibe, and the outside of the building is really cool. They were out of lavash, so we were only able to try the somun but it was amazing - perfect with the humus appetizer. The turkish meatballs appetizer was a bit lackluster, would not order again. We ordered a chicken kebab and yaglama for our entress. Chicken kebab was perfectly cooked, though not the most flavorful and felt overpriced for what it was. The yagalma is worth trying and could easily be shared if you wanted to get a few entrees for the table. The hostess and manager (owner maybe?) were very nice, but our waitress seemed annoyed by our presence, in the type of way that makes you feel unwelcome somewhere. She was short when we asked questions about the menu and when we asked for additional bread, disappeared after our food was brought to where we had to wait long periods before we could grab her attention, and overall just did not seem very friendly. First time today to eat in the new location. The restaurant is beautiful and although I ate there early when it was not crowded, I suspect that acoustically it won't be so loud when it's crowded as many other restaurants. Service was fine, but to tell the truth, I was disappointed in the food. I ordered a pink Sultan appetizer and Chef Ethan's Grand Aegean as my main course. I rate the appetizer three stars and the main course two stars. The presentation of the main course looked very appealing, but the flavor was so so and much heavier than what I expect from Turkish or Mediterranean food. I ate less than half of the main course. The restaurant makes suggestions for tips based on the price of the meal plus sales tax. Most restaurants I visit do not add sales tax when figuring suggested tips. Also, they upcharge the cash price by 3% for customers who pay with a credit card I almost never pay with a credit card. I know More and more restaurants have started doing this, but it would annoy me if I chose to pay with a credit card. Bottom line I won't rush back because of the food. read more

The general consensus was that everything was flavorful and the meat was delicious. When it came to desserts, we ended up each getting one of them. We learned it isn't a set menu but rather a rotating menu. The baklavas were delicious (there was a pistachio one as well as a walnut one). There was another pudding esque dessert which was also very refreshing, and a coconut one that was very balanced in flavor. We also got the dubai chocolate cheesecake which was amazing!!! It was all homemade and you could see how much care was put into each dish and dessert. Since we got almost every dish off the dessert cart, he ended up giving us the last one on the house to try too! The group consensus was that the meats were amazingly well seasoned and moist/tender, while our favorite dessert was split between the dubai chocolate cheesecake and the baklavas. Great New location on 6th. Transfer from closed startup on 8th. Free street parking, and they have lots of parking that's not marked for BEREN . So many reserved for others around, don't get towed. **Great Mediterranean, Turkish is a bit different than all the others around with selections and flavors that fit well. Upscale inside space, and a patio as well. All food comes with olives and bread for the table. Try the mezze selection platter for a large selection of the appetizers. You can always select favorites on a future visit. The cup servings are more than other Greeks that spread items far on saucers. Was plenty to take home on provided packages to keep separated. None is less than very good, most excellent. Baba, items with yogurt and the one with crunchy nuts is remarkable, along with the purple beet one. *Specials they have seasonal menu and daily specials. *Sunday was lamb shank day. Several hours of cooking brought forth the nicest tender lamb shank with fully rendered tissues that contributed to a natural thickened brown gravy and a smooth eggplant cream traced around the plate. Perfect for dipping their thicker than pita raised bread that they brought my again fresh throughout the meal. *specials and items of note have salmon, whole fish, lamb chops. Beren's was every bit as good as all of the reviews say it is. My wife had their falafel and she almost always has those at every Mediterranean restaurant we go to. She was very pleased with them, saying the seasoning and the texture were absolutely perfect. I had the kibbeh and the feta roll off of the appetizer menu and both were quite good. We think they have the best Mediterranean food in Fort Worth. And, yes, the owner was there serving everyone and was charming and very helpful and friendly. We went for dinner to Beren last weekend. We loved the ambiance and the service was very attentive and helpful as we weren't familiar with all the turkish items available. We started with a meze platter that was flawless when eaten with their warm bread and pita. It was plenty but we didnt want to stop there. For entrees, we went with a chicken kabob and an amazing dish: Beyti kabob (I think I got that right). I loved the combination of the tangy yogurt sauce and the Turkish seasoned beef. I'm returning just for that dish. Of course we shared, which is the way to go here so you get to try more than just one entree. Being a new place, the service had some minor glitches, which Im sure will get ironed out, but they were so nice that it didnt affect our dinner one bit. We skipped dessert but they looked home made and again could be shared. We will return as this menu deserves to be explored on more than one visit and the place will get even better once it grows some whiskers (gains experience). Its a unique dining experience for Ft.
