She was very careful and confirmed if there was any sensitivity - surprise! there was, a LOT! She quickly numbed the area, and after a few minutes waiting for the novocaine to take effect, she applied the adhesive and reglued my crown. I was recommended by my cousin to check this place out because I was having TMJ issues and was looking into Botox. It made me much more comfortable knowing I was getting it done at a dental practice rather than just an aesthetic spa. I was able to call and easily set up an appointment, and the lady I spoke with over the phone was very helpful. When I arrived for my appointment, I was greeted by Lily and Alexis at the front desk. Angelica then checked me in and got me settled. The entire office was so nice, clean, and modern, and all of the equipment looked new and top-tier. Dr. Nguyen was friendly, knowledgeable, and took the time to answer all of my questions. The whole process was also very quick and easy! It's been a week since I had the Botox done, and I can already see and feel a difference. My jaw muscles feel much more relaxed, and my jaw is no longer sore, which was my main issue before. I did experience a little soreness around day 5, but it went away by day 6. By the one-week mark, I wasn't feeling any discomfort at all. I know Botox can take some time to fully settle, so I'm happy with how everything has been progressing so far. The office is beautiful and has the upscale feel and extra amenities I was looking for. The assistants who escort you to your room, get you settled, and assist the dentist and hygienist have also consistently been kind, welcoming, and professional. Unfortunately, my overall experience has declined, and there are several concerns that ultimately led me to decide I will not be returning. During one of my first visits, I mentioned that I had been experiencing intermittent tooth pain for years. The dentist examined the area and took an X-ray but said everything looked fine. I understood that there might not be an obvious dental issue, but when I continued to express concern about the recurring pain, the response was delivered in a frustrated tone and essentially suggested that it was a matter of how much pain I could tolerate. I found the response dismissive and uncomfortable. I briefly mentioned my concern at a later visit, but I was hesitant to pursue it further because I did not want to feel like I was bothering the dentist. Later, another dentist recommended replacing a couple of fillings. The fillings were not particularly old, but I was told replacing them would be beneficial as a preventative measure. I agreed and scheduled the procedure several months later. The fillings were small, but the procedure took considerably longer than I expected based on my previous experiences. The dentist repeatedly requested different instruments, which made me increasingly uncomfortable. Once the numbness wore off, I realized that my bite was significantly off. I immediately contacted the office and returned for a recheck with another dentist, who confirmed that the fillings were too high and adjusted them. At that point, my bite felt much better. Unfortunately, within a few days, I began experiencing significant pain in that area. I was flossing regularly and initially couldn't understand what was causing the problem. I eventually used an interdental pick, something I had never needed to use before, and discovered that food was consistently getting trapped between the teeth where the filling had been replaced. I had never experienced this issue with those teeth previously. I contacted the office again and was offered another evaluation, but at that point I was hesitant to return for yet another visit related to the same fillings. I now have to routinely use an interdental pick after eating to remove food that gets trapped in the area. I'm still confused as to why this became an issue immediately after the fillings were replaced. My other major concern is the billing process. In my experience, the office has received insurance payments that were higher than what I was originally charged, but I was not proactively notified, refunded, or given an account credit. I had to follow up repeatedly regarding the overpayments. At one point, I was told the office had not received the insurance checks, even though the insurance company confirmed that the checks had been issued, received, and cashed by the dental office. That experience was ultimately the final straw for me. I want to emphasize that the staff and overall appearance of the office are excellent, and I genuinely appreciate how kind the assistants have been throughout my visits. However, good customer service and a beautiful office cannot make up for concerns about communication, the quality and outcome of dental work, and billing transparency. After approximately a year as a patient, I have decided to take my dental care elsewhere.

Caps, Bridges and Partial Plates…read more This dental office seemed to be reputable and conveniently located for necessary extensive care. My total treatment will have addressed at least 18 teeth-either cosmetically crowned, bridged or partialed. My bridge is comfortable, made with modern material and all of my crowns are securely anchored. My two tooth bridge, however, was problematic from the get-go, not lasting even a year before detaching. Over the course of the year, they reattached it many times hassle-free, to no lasting avail. I was patient, but overtime became disgruntled believing this was all that was going to happen (reattachment). No one wants to pay for anything twice-especially when work, for whatever reason, isn't durable. Oral upkeep is not cheap and the economy isn't getting any better with Captain Cheetoh Chancre ruining the world. Recently , the sublime Dr. Fadi decided to redo the bridge entirely. I was then treated to a complementary polishing. All-doctors, techs and front office are competent, professional and understanding. The atmosphere is cheerful and harmonious...Dr. Embry worthy of mention. I have at least three more teeth to fix and will continue here because they are FAIR. I thought all was well with my care here UNTIL I had to have one of their caps CORRECTED. The cap…read morethat was ordered never came. In its place came one that was the wrong size and wrong shape. They told me they would call the dental facility that made it and have that one replaced with the CORRECT cap. They did NOT do this. When I came back to have the correct one put in, it turns out they just gave me the same WRONG cap and tried to pass that one off. THE CAP IS IN MY SMILE ZONE MAKING IT PAINFULLY OBVIOUS. By the way, I subsequently found out they had shaved part of the perfectly good tooth in front of said cap in order to slap the wrong cap in. After some back and forth, I saw they would do nothing more to rectify this "mishap" so I had to switch dentists all together. My insurance company has a 5-year limit per cap/per tooth on what can be adjusted. Since 5 years hadn't passed. I had to take out a grievance with them (the insurance company) after filing several complaints when the pre-auths were rejected. I am still waiting on that grievance to be completed. It has been two and a half years that I have been waiting for something to be done on this same cap. My previous review was a glowing testament to Dr. Amini and Dental Associates of Torrance. 5-STARS! I'd like to apologize to anyone who was misled by me however, I could not have known, at that time, just how problematic working with this dental office could be. NEEDLESS TO SAY, I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO TRUST IN THIS DENTIST AND WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND THEM.
