Cincy roll, pork katsu don, salmon teriyaki

My family and I have dined here about 5 times in the last 3 months, and this is one of our favorite restaurants in NKY to fill our wide range of Asian food cravings. The restaurant is quaint, yet open, and totally family friendly. Servers are warm and courteous, even when they are slammed during peak dinner time (6:30-8). You get to choose from a Japanese and Thai menu, which contain a wide selection of equally delicious dishes, including fresh Sushi. You get 3 good restaurants in 1! Some dishes we've tried multiple times and recommended based on balanced flavors and consistency are: THAI: Spicy basil pork- has sweet scent of holy basil and abundant sauce. Our favorite to pour over rice. Papaya salad- full of flavor, but be conservative on your spice level selection ranging from 1-10. If you want "medium" spice, go with 2/3. Panang curry- you can choose your meat, but it's traditionally served with beef, which I think it's the best pairing as well. You can never go wrong with Thai curry, unless you order above your spice level ;) Pad see ew- stir fried wide rice noodles, also known as soy sauce noodles, comes with your choice of meat and veggies. Kids love it because noodles are soft and sauce is sweet. Crowd pleaser. JAPANESE: Katsu don- crispy chicken or pork cutlet drenched in sweet & salty sauce mixed with scrambled eggs and caramel used onions served over rice in a bowl. Total comfort Salmon teriyaki- great, nutritionally balanced meal with perfectly grilled salmon basted with teriyaki sauce over rice, and a side of shredded and steamed carrots and zucchini. Never regret ordering this. APPS: shrimp shumai and miso soup SUSHI: Cincy roll, spicy yellowtail, salmon nigiri As you can see, there are a lot of good options here. Go with a bigger group and dine family style to get the most out of your visit.

Probably the best fried rice in the city. The sushi is also excellent! We highly recommend!

THE best and authentic pad Thai you'll ever find anywhere. Been around a long time, and I keep coming back years and years later.

My husband set an alarm for 5:58am to get ready to go to the site and try to get reservations for 7pm Saturday night. However, in the couple of seconds it took him to figure out how the reservation site worked, all 8 spots for the 7pm time slot were taken. 5pm was not our preference so he got lucky to get 2 spots at 9pm. Yay. All the sashimi was very tasty and super fresh. The range of flavors varied from creamy tuna taste to some fishy sardines. My favorite, a fish I never tried before, is Jackass - very delicious. Btw it was our first Omakase experience ever, and we look forward to trying more of these places in the future. With only 8 spots per seating, I really enjoyed the intimate ambiance, of talking with the chief and hearing him explain each dish.

They are reservation only and it can be a challenge to get a reservation, so make sure you check their Instagram to figure out when they become available. We came here for a dinner reservation. For the vibes, they have 8 seats and sell out basically every single reservation. There were 2 people making the sushi and they were both super friendly and made great conversation. Each bite was carefully crafted and came with a thorough explanation of the individual parts and how they fit together. I don't think my words will do enough to explain each bite, but check out the pictures if you are interested. They have a few beers, cocktails, sake, and whiskey if you are interested in a drink to go with your meal. Overall, worth a visit for an excellent omakase experience!

Last night I ordered the crab rangoon roll (again, because I really enjoyed it the last time), a California roll, and a sweet potato roll. All were delicious, the crab rangoon roll is my favorite, great flavor, generous sized roll. The California roll is pretty standard, the sweet potato roll is really good and my favorite vegetation option so far.

Tasty food, good drink, great service…read more We needed lunch following a morning visit to the aquarium and were not tied to the Levee necessarily. My fella had a hankering for sushi and found Sake Bomb on google, an easy 7ish minute walk straight up the road from the aquarium. The building was under construction and there was an overabundance of signs not only telling you where to go and where not to go, but also about ordering and pick up and other various things. I found that actually quite charming, along with the unnecessary quotation marks. But we entered and were seated right away (it was a late Monday morning, it wasn't gonna be overflowing anyway). I really liked the look and feel of the place and it made it feel very private in our seating spot. I really wanted to enjoy a small adult beverage (it was actually the start of a 2-week vacation for me and I wanted to feel a little indulgent). But the soju options I was eying all came in far too large serving sizes. BUT THEN the server informed me of the smaller sized options, it was just lost in the very busy and overwhelming menu. Perfect! And kudos to him for not pushing a more expensive, greater volume item! My guy ordered a couple rolls for us to share and I also got an order of the seaweed salad (a staple that I LOVE). The food came out quick. The salad portion was HUGE. And the rolls tasted delicious and we both left with our hunger sated. I would definitely recommend the short jaunt away from the Levee for a quieter, tasty meal, if you are in the area and looking for an Asian meal to enjoy.

We stopped by after a visit to the Newtown Candy shop. We took some lobster roll kits and clam chowder home. They pride themselves on fresh seafood regularly flown in from around the world. Their pricing is double Jungle Jims and triple kroger. Can't say good or bad until we try the fresh fish. For example they have many types of Salmon from around the globe. $49.99 for Sea Bass is pricey for me. I think Halibut was $39.99 a pound and the salmon was $20-$30 a pound. They also make their own sides. The clam chowder had too many potatoes. On Friday and Saturday nights they cook a few meals out back in a small tent/room. Main items are Lobster Rolls and Fish n chips.
