Niu Mama Kitchens is such a cute little hidden gem tucked into a small strip mall in Glendale! I walked in and immediately noticed how BUSY and buzzing it was always a good sign! The space is compact, cozy, and has that fun little Asian night-market feel with multiple food concepts all under one roof. There are so many options to choose from, including Lao Ma Dumplings, Pho Mama, K-Bap/Kimchi Xpress, Saito's Express for Japanese-style dishes, and Sumo Snow Express for boba and sweet treats. I love the idea of being able to walk in with a group and have everyone order something completely different without having to agree on one restaurant! I stopped in specifically to try two of the concepts inside, and the whole experience was super pleasant. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and welcoming, and I was really impressed with how clean and well-kept everything was, especially considering how busy it was while I was there. It has that cute, cozy, casual vibe where you can pop in for a quick bite, wander around, check out all the little counters, and basically turn lunch into a mini food adventure. I'm always a sucker for places where there are multiple things to try, and this one definitely has me wanting to come back and explore more of the menu!

Current dumpling menu as of 8/14/26. Get the Kuromi bun set!

The food here is so incredible!! We got ube and custard dumplings at Lao Ma, literally no notes. The women working there were so sweet and friendly. Then we got the samgyeopsal platter and the cheesy pork tonkotsu platter from Kimchi Xpress, with sides of braised potatoes, and cucumber kimchi that were to DIE FOR, like halmeoni makes. I love the Panasian vibe inside, everyone in there was having a good time with friends and family. It was such a nice place to sit down, take a load off and eat amazing food. Note to owner: THIS IS HOW YOU BUILD COMMUNITY!! I'm obsessed.

Lao Ma Dumplings- Wontons in Chili Oil, Bao Sumo Snow - Matcha and Lychee Blossom Slushie

Really like the concept of this food court. I've visited locations with very similar vibes in cities such as New York and LA, and this one specializes in Asian cuisine. Great option for when you crave a mix and match of items or if people in your group want to eat different things. For food, we ordered from the dumplings stall and got the wontons in chili oil and fried bao. If you go on a weekend, I recommend going earlier rather than later because some items can sell out for the day. Wontons were my favorite - excellent spice and flavor. The bao were good but just okay. For drinks, we ordered from the Sumo Snow. Ordering is easy with the kiosk, and there is a big variety to choose from - anything like fruit teas, milk teas, slushies. My Lychee slushie was very refreshing. The owner of the establishment is also super kind, he chatted with us as we waited for our food and let us know that sometimes they host themed nights - anime, movies, pop culture - and the stalls sell specialty food and drinks during those nights. I imagine it can get pretty packed on those days, so plan accordingly!

9/5/26: 4 for dinner at Niu Mama Kitchens. We ordered a lot of food from 4 of the 5 restaurants. The winning dishes were The Bulgogi Burrito from Kimchi Xpress, the Pan Fried Shrimp Dumplings and the Inari Bomb from Akai Hana Express! The food and service from each restaurant was fast, hot and tasty. The ambiance is super casual and chill. Definitely worth a visit for the variety of Asian Flavors in 1 location. We will be back!

Ha Long Bay refresher from Sumo Snow

We visited Niu Mama Kitchens on a Sunday for lunch, and I must say, it's a unique concept with its food court setup featuring a few Asian food vendors. We decided to try a bit of everything: a poke bowl, a combination of chicken and beef, and edamame from Saito's Express, as well as pork and chive dumplings from Lao Ma. To top it off, we indulged in the Ha Long Bay refresher from Sumo Snow. While the variety is a nice touch, the food was pretty much what you would expect from Asian fast food vendors--not the highest in quality. The preparation time was longer than anticipated, which was a bit frustrating. The seating arrangements were typical for a fast-casual place, nothing special. Considering the prices, which felt a bit on the higher side for what we received, I would say that Niu Mama Kitchens deserves a solid 3 stars for its diverse offerings but falls short in quality and service.

Came here with my book club and we all enjoyed the variety of food options. I got the inari bomb from Akai Hana, which I really enjoyed. Also got the ttetboki form kimchi express- the sauce was very watery and there wasn't too much spice or flavor. Every food stall is ordered via kiosk which is nice, but there's also someone at the front for question. The bathroom was clean and there were a lot of seating options.

Gotta be honest, this place is not at the safest area, but it is so good that I went twice in 3 weeks. The first round, I tried K-Bap, Lao Ma, Akai Hana and Sumo Snow. The second round, I focused on Akai Hana and Sumo Snow. First round - Lao Ma is the bomb!!! I was just thinking about how much I love these varieties of dumplings that they would be my fix before I got a reservation in at Ding Tai Fung. The strawberry dessert cake from Sumo Snow was not so great, but those white chocolate ice cream bites recovered!! The Tokoyaki balls from Akai were good, but I would say the filling maybe could be a bit hotter (weird to say, I know). Second round - The bento box from Akai was so worth a try. I had the salmon and chicken combo and there was so much food! I had a second meal out of it. The drink from Sumo was very refreshing! Wonder what happened to the pho place because that would have been a huge hit. I would love to come back for more restaurant but seems like there's no more room to grow inside.

Pho brisket and bag of veggies

Came by on a Saturday at noon. Not busy at all. Love the Asian food hall concept as you can find various choices to match your mood. Went with Pho Mama because I have a tendency towards Viet food. Pretty easy menu and a very nice staff member took my order for the Brisket Pho. Sat with my pager for a bit until my order came up. Simple setup, pho in a disposable bowl and a bag of veggies for garnish. Broth did not have a deep flavor or usual spices I would expect of the usual pho broth. Meats and noodles were okay. Just enough for a quick fix for me. Nice concept so maybe I'll give them another shot in the future.

Gotta love a good food court, especially one that specializes in Asian food. So far they have Korean, Japanese, dumplings and a boba shop. We got a little of everything and it was all pretty good. There is plenty of seating and prices were fair for all the restaurants we got food from.

The valley needs more places like Niu Mama Kitchens. It's a perfect place to have multiple restaurants in one place and a perfect way to try out various foods from around the world. They have Japanese, Chinese, Korean and delicious boba's to enjoy. They have plenty of tables to sit and enjoy the restaurants too. Great service and a great concept to support small businesses.

This a pretty cool place for grabbing some food with friends and family with a variety of places to pick from. I had dinner here last week with friends and we all enjoyed and finished our foods. We ordered from the following places: Saito Express: Chicken and shrimp hibachi - good portion and very tasty Pho Mama: Beef Pho - not many sections to choose from, broth was good Lao Ma: Spicy dumplings - they were out of cucumber salad so we ordered these K - Bap: Beef bulgogi and Korean tacos - tacos were pretty simple, on the sweeter side. Bulgogi was good Sumo Snow: Boba smoothies and cheesecake with ube - good cup sizes for the price, ube on cheesecake was not good Everything was flavorful. The employees all seemed nice and eager to take our orders. The dining hall was clean and there is plenty of seating. Worth checking out!

All the vendors were friendly here! We ordered from everyone basically and we had a great experience. I ordered beef pho and it was delicious. The broth was flavorful and it was served hot! I was able to try my friends food as well and it was all yummy. The inside was spacious and clean.

    K-Bap chicken bowl
    Donata N.

Cool concept. Busy on a Friday night. We opted to order bowls from K-Bap. Korean chicken bowl was pretty good. Chicken very crispy. Sauce very sweet, it needed more of spicy mayo. I'd order again from there. Service was pleasant, food was prepared fresh and was delivered to us hot. Four stars. We also ordered from Lao MA. So dining companion wanted a dozen beef pan fried. I ordered the Happy Meal for the other two of us to share. Ordered pork and chive, pan fried. Received pork and cabbage. Dumplings were steamed but only pan fried on the bottom. Slightly over fried with a strange crispy coating on the bottom. None of us liked these and one had a long blonde hair sticking out of it. We were told it was part of the filling and the lady was very rude about it. Two stars. Won't visit again. She tried to charge us for drinks even though we had a receipt from K-Bap. As a whole just an average dining experience. I would dine at K-Bap again to try the tacos.

I tried the beef noodle soup which has soft tender beef, bouncy noodles, little mustard greens, bok choy and broth with a tiny kick. For appetizers has the popcorn chicken with real pieces of chicken and not just batter. I love the crispy basil pieces in it. Fish cakes was good too which is like a salty tasting mochi-like appetizer. Lu Wei was also good with marinated seaweed, boiled egg and braised tofu. Yummy! They've only been open for 5 months and having intelligently kept the menu tight so they can execute every item well. On this visit, we were welcomed with a warm hello! We decided to order the popcorn chicken with Thai basil, Gua Bao (now called Bao Buns on the or newest menu), spicy wontons, and green milk tea w/boba. While we were waiting, a group of Taiwanese customers entered the cafe and their conversation instantly warmed my heart. To hear Taiwanese mandarin like this was not something I had expected when I moved from SoCal to Phoenix 18 years ago. Onto the food: perfect popcorn chicken with DARK meat! Well seasoned, and not overly battered. The Gua Baos were the STARS of this visit. Soft and warm steamed bread encased perfectly braised thick pork belly slices. The addition of pickled veggies and sugared peanut powder told me the owners are DEFINITELY Taiwanese. Every bite was perfectly balanced with salty, sweety, umami flavors. The spicy wontons were good as well, although the skins seemed a little thicker than I am used to. The sauce was garlicky deliciousness. Their green milk tea was flavorful and perfect at 50% sweet, with light ice. The boba was on the larger side and probably had been sitting for a while, as they weren't as chewy they should be. Next time, will try their custard pudding add-on! I'm so happy to have stumbled upon a gathering place for Taiwanese nationals in Phoenix! So grateful for Owl Owl's presence and I hope they continue to expand their menu and keep their standards high. Looking forward to our next visit, where we'll try their heartier fare, like the bowls and beef noodle soup!

We were seated and it actually took longer than I expected to get a drink order. No diet beverages due to a broken dispenser. I saw that they had a small Indian beer selection, so I ordered an Old Monk which was displayed at the bar and in the menu. "Sorry, we don't have a liquor license". OK. I'll have water which was on the table in covered carafes but was warm since any ice had long ago melted. They have a strange menu of Chinese and Indian food. Not a big selection of either, but it allowed me to select Indian and my wife to choose Chinese. I asked about the portion size of the Chicken 65 and was told it was a starter sized portion. My wife wanted Sweet and Sour but not chicken or shrimp, she wanted tofu. The kitchen agreed to make it but told us up front that they weren't sure how it would be (found that odd). We also ordered Lo Mein since we assumed the Chicken 65 would be smaller. With all these troubles, the food came and it was very good. The Chicken 65 was a very large starter. I thought it was very good with the exception of finding some cartilage chunks in the meat. The sweet-and-sour tofu was also very good. I am not sure why the kitchen did not have confidence in their abilities. Lo mein was just average. When it was time for the check, the waiter wanted to know if we wanted a box for the little bit of lo mein that was left and we said no so he inquired to whether or not we like the dish and offered to take it off the bill or make us something different. We told him that everything was fine. The food was fine and we were just ready to go. All in all, I don't think we would return here due to the lack of selection on the menu. It was kind of limited. The menu was also confusing since it didn't group things together very well.

I visited early in the afternoon - after the lunch rush - but still during the lunch hours. First, the greeting was very unfriendly. The server was distracted conversing with another server and paying little attention to our order. Absolutely zero friendliness. I felt I was an intruder! I ordered a Diet Coke. It was horrible. Obviously, the syrup was low so I had basically unflavored carbonated water. I had the lunch special for General Zso chicken. Zero taste. The egg roll was uninspiring. The egg drop soup was mediocre- at best. And, the entire restaurant was freezing. It was 110+ degrees outside. So, a cool place is welcomed. And I like the temperature cool - like, my home thermostats are set between 70 and 72 in the summer. But, the temperature in the restaurant was much, much colder. Simply, unpleasant experience. I left without eating my lunch. I had a taste of the Diet Coke, a bite of the chicken, a bite of the egg roll - and nothing else. This place made my list!
