I used to come here when I would get basic mani/pedis but when I began to get into nail art I started going to another salon that was recommended to me. I decided to go back to Niva nails for a pedicure since I was in need, I got off of work early, and it is by my house - big mistake. The nail polishes were very old and i can tell they are watered down to make them last longer, smh. I was seen immediately but the nail tech was not good. She did a really sloppy job and the nail polish was very thick and "globbed" on. When I expressed to her that the polish was no good and that I was unsatisfied she had the nerve to charge me $5 to repaint my toenails with another polish. I wish I would not have agreed because of course she did just as bad as she did the first time although the polish was not as clumpy because I picked a fresher bottle. Needless to say I will never come back and stick to the place I've been going to where I can get WAY better quality for the same price. read more

Typical neighborhood Nail Shop nothing fancy, but they do have a variety of services to choose from besides basic Mani, Pedi and Eyebrow waxes. A few things though, they usually have a wait any day after lunch hours so be prepared. The lady who did my nails did not speak English so she could not understand me when I asked for the Euro Manicure. Oh well their loss $10 vs $22 , I will take the "Classic" for 10 Alex. I've been coming here for years!!! I try to come as soo. As they open because they do get busy really fast. I'll have 2 people work on me and usually I'm out within an hour. They always offer me complimentary drinks and are always so friendly. Prices are super affordable and the work the do is always exceptional. I just moved to the area and I needed a nail shop I liked. The first time I came in was a busy Saturday but the wait wasn't to long and the staff was nice even though it was really busy. I got a full set and a pedi. I had a male nail tec and he chatted with me the whole time I he did my set. The second time I came in was fix a broken nail. It wasn't the work (it was me being a space cadet and smashing my nail). I had to wait for awhile because it was near the time they closed. But when they finally got to me it was super quick. Horrible! Ignored me for an hour. I came in with a friend and waited for them to finish with her to then be ignored and moved on to someone else. When I said something, I was met with glares and disdain. Terrible customer service!! First of all, a ROACH crawled down my chair and I fell on the floor trying to get away from it. Then the manicurist told me it was gone and it wasn't. Followed by her saying she killed it when she didn't. Followed by her telling me she saw it go somewhere else when it didn't. I finally got her to agree to move me to another chair. THEN the manicurist lied about the pricing. When we walked in, we told them we wanted pedicures. The manager told us to go select our colors. When choosing a color, we noticed a sign on the wall about a special pedicure for $40. We asked if that was the price for a regular pedicure. She told us the price was $30. She said the prices were $30 and $40. However, when another customer came in and was getting a pedicure, she asked her manicurist how much a pedicure was and was told $20. So I asked my manicurist about her telling us $30 when the lady next to us said $20 and was told that we requested the deluxe pedicures. When I spoke to the manager about it, the manager said since she'd already done the work, she didn't care that we were told the wrong thing and that I had to pay $30. I told her it was $20 or nothing and she said I was the worst customer she'd ever had. read more

HORRIBLE!! I walked in, signed in and waited for about 15mins before anyone asked what I needed. From there I waited for 90 total minutes!!! 3 customers that came with no appointments (we asked) got seen before myself and the few other ladies in the waiting area as well. The last straw was a young lady that needed a refill/pedi come in, get asked what she needed and was walked immediately to be serviced. The gentleman at the first station looked at me and said "that's only because she's getting a pedicure only". LIES! I just heard her requests! The waiting area was furious. It took everything in me not to go off. I simply said I'm gonna go, and left. Unless there are legitimately scheduled appointments, the line should be the damn line! No picking and choosing. Furthermore, you should greet your customers and not let them sit forever staring at them before someone has the brain to say "what do u need"? I used to love this nail salon. They were always ahead of the trend, the prices were competitive as well. However after they got new management the customer service went down. I went to the shop one day requesting a refill and a pedicure it was 11 AM. I asked can you have me out of the shop by 2:00pm. It was a question, not a request. They said sure that's plenty of time for the services I was getting. However at 1:40pm they hadn't started on my refill ( they did complete my pedicure). I asked them are they sure they can get me out by 2 PM. They said no, I asked why did they tell me they could, and they said out loud we just didn't want you to leave, so we said we can do it. I've been coming here on and off for about 3 years. Wait time depends on the day and time you go. I normally go on Thursdays around 3 and it's not too packed. They do offer appointments which normally they write down but when I was there and they scheduled an appointment over the phone they did not write it down. They just told the person on the phone to come. I used to get acrylics ( full set) done here but after some time I noticed the damage on my nails and switched over to shellac. I either go to Michael or Vincent to get my nails done. They offer refreshments but it's not cold, it's room temp water or Coke. If you go on a busy day the wait time is painfully long, which is expected in any nail salons. They accept male clients as well as children. I believe one of the staff members brings her daughter every now and then. The TV lags and if you're getting a manicure you'll have to hurt your neck to see the TV compared to those getting a pedicure. Every now and then they clip my skin by my cuticles and they don't blame me. I have gotten blamed for a "mistake", which is a smudge from the gel machine when the nail technician put my hand in there for me. They don't really take their time, it's about quantity not quality at this nail shop. If you just want to get something on your nails or if you're on the go, this is probably the best salon to go to. read more

Won't be going back! If I could give 0 stars I would. My pedicure was horrible. All my nails were uneven, and the polish was all over my skin. Her "clean up" was basically creating a gap between the cuticle where there was a ton of polish and the rest of my nail. I came home and just took it all off and redid it myself. I won't be going back. Found out afterward my mom's tried this place too and it was just as bad. Thao did my pedicure and I even think she may be a owner of it? Either way horrible and they weren't even completely busy. read more

I must admit I haven't always enjoyed everything about this salon, until now. They are under NEW management and changes have already taken place in the short amount of time that they new owners have been there!!! I've been a customer for over a year now and I've never seen any pests, but after talking to Nina on last night she informed me that the pest problem has been corrected!!! She has also removed all of the old polish that was watered down by the previous cheap owner!! New bottles of regular polish as well as new colors for shellac! New up to date products are coming soon!!!! My manicurist Tracy is the best that I've had in a long time. I never have to worry about her rushing when someone else enters the salon and I've been to quite a few other salons that do that. This salon is definitely a place that I'd recommend!!!! read more

There are a few nail technician that are very new to the industry and their work is clear evidence to support my statement. At first I liked this salon. The owner was very hospitable. I was only being serviced for pedicures. I decided to start doing overlays about a month later. I was very dissatisfied with the young male nail tech. He's always rushing never being theral with the job. He doesn't take off all the nail Polish. I pointed that out and he ignored my concern. He then applied the solar power on top. You could see the remaining Polish under. I asked for a cut down on one visit. These same tech grinded them down very blunt. When I explained I don't like my nails shaped like that, he insisted they were fine. I know how I like my nails, because I am the person who pays for them and has to wear them. I also saw him not remove all the Polish on an elderly customer. She explained you could see the other Polish under the new. I will not be returning. I went there last Wednesday April,10, 2013.The original owners sold out to the new people. This place, eventhough new, do not sterilize their equipment. When one of the men who was there to do my nails finished giving this lady a pedicure, came and put the instuments down on my table. I asked him what was he about to do, and he said that he was ready to start on me. I asked him about sterlizing his instruments, and he informed me that they only sterilized at the end of the day, and told me that I could leave if I didn't like their policy. So I left, and will file a complaint with the Texas State Board of Examiners. Not following state policy and procedures are one thing, but asking me to leave their premises, is very bad customer service. I will never go there again. read more

VERY poor customer service. Was lied to about the cost of a service and there was no posting of prices. When confronted about the lack of consistency with pricing the manager became very accusatory and belligerent. I suggested to the manager that pricing should be posted so that the customers all receive the same pricing ahead of time and she was very rude and stated that is not how she does business. Apparently this is how they make their money by "upselling" their services though this is not requested. The store was also unsanitary and my pedicure water was cool. I complained a number of times that my water was cold and the technician was never able to warm the water up. I was also not pleased with the pedicure as my nails were cut far below the natural nail bed and the polish was done very poorly. I will not be visiting this establishment again. read more

I came in to try a local business out. Got a pedicure. Everything was ok. I sat with the male owner to have my full set done. Ask for DARK PINK ACRYLIC and white tips. I understand that every business is different and everyone has their own techniques so when he started using light pink acrylic he asked me to let him do his job because he had a different way of doing it. So needless to say when he finished, my nails were NOT the dark pink I usually get and were very thick. I expressed to him that I was not happy and he said well that's not my problem. He called me an asshole and said I was wasting his time after I asked him to refund my money and to take my nails off. Talk about not wanting to satisfy your customers. read more
