I stopped in again because (apparently) I forgot why I stopped coming here. Seems even louder than before, as my Bose QC35s couldn't block out the club music thumping throughout. They are also pretty relaxed about allowing non-paying customers occupy some of the choice seats that would otherwise be occupied by paying customers. Just off of the lightrail station. This is an inviting space for those in the Wash Park/Old South Pearl Street Neighborhood. The atmosphere inside is very pristine and there is a lot of daylight flooding inside. I could see lots of fun hangouts and conversations happen in this space. You could definitely have a nice study or work session too. They make a great cup of coffee and have state-of-the-art equipment. Give it a try for the experience. read more

Beautiful coffee shops with delicious drinks. I stopped in over the weekend to meet some friends. The staff is welcoming and the drinks are great. The space is the best part with large tables for groups mixed with smaller tables and individual bar stools that opens to the outside when the front window panels are up. I love the indoor/outdoor space. Most importantly, they are dog friendly and my pup loved the complementary treats! read more

I was really excited about the new location. It looks awesome but the barista was rude when we came in too close to closing time (15 minutes before it closed) to get a quick decaf and treat. She was so rude we just left, I love a good coffee spot so I am super disappointed in the service. read more

I really like this place. The staff is really nice and service is fast. The food isn't housemade, but it is tasty as is the coffee. The space is also nice, airy and always seems to have room. I generally gravitate toward coffee shops with cozy couches and eclectic decor, but this really feels friendly and like a neighborhood place. read more

Just visited Nixon's Coffee on Louisiana this Sat at 7:00am when they opened. Ordered a cappuccino..thinking it would have an awesome barista design(per a posted picture) and great taste. I got neither. Felt like I was at Starbucks(which I hate) as barista spooned over frothed foam into my cup. I took one drink and walked out leaving the full cup on the table. I am sure they have no idea why I did this. I did leave a tip when I paid, which I now regret. I have read the reviews and am a bit puzzled. People seemed nice, but barista that morning needs some serious training! I would suggest sending them to Thump Coffee as their baristas never miss a beat, they know how to froth/stretch milk to make awesome designs. Coffee at Thump is great and comes from their other store where the roasting takes place in Bend, Or. Nixon's has a great location and I am sure has a following, but I will not be back. So much for checking out other coffee shops on my visit to Denver! read more

This coffee house is one of the best non-chain coffee houses in Denver. I was very impressed with the iced mocha I ordered, as usually at smaller coffee shops they're made with powder and are under-mixed. It was one of the best iced mochas I've ever had. I also purchased a sandwich, which they offered to heat up for me. Something like brie and pear or apple? I forget the exact ingredients, except to say it was just delicious and I practically licked my plate. The atmosphere is great, I love the big open windows and bars. I would absolutely recommend Nixon's to a local or a tourist. If only they had drive-thru! read more

Best iced mocha latte I've ever had! Staff is very friendly & cute open seating with lots of light. They have carabiners outside to tie your dog up when you're running in during a walk. Great place - not sure when people write such negative reviews. read more

I've never written a review on yelp, yet feel so strongly that I must. I'm speaking to the passionate, avid coffeeshop goers that love good coffee, but equally love good service and a nice environment with reliable wifi. Ever had wifi problems here? Ever tried to log-in via Facebook and get very spotty service OR not be able to get on at all OR get kicked off after about 2 hours? (...then leaving frustrated and wishing you had spent your $10 elsewhere?) Once day recently, the coffeeshop was packed, as usual for an afternoon. Almost every seat was filled. I was seated around a group of girls who had come to study together, some of who ordered a coffee, a few who did not. I very soon begin to hear chatter that did not surprise me: "I can't get the wifi to work" "Just sign in using their facebook account and enter the password welovecoffee "I tried but it won't let me on this time, it keeps disconnecting." Within 10 minutes, to my surprise I overhear the owner, who was seated next to me, also on his laptop, softly show a friend what the girls' ruckus was all about: He pointed to the screen where you sign in using the password on Facebook, and mentioned something about "the terms." I heard the friend respond (laughingly) "Well, of course people don't read it, it's like 3 pages!" ) What do people -- WE -- not read? Their crooked and manipulative "Terms of Use." Great coffee and employees. Open atmosphere conducive to getting work done or studying; however the internet however is very unreliable. The employees are really helpful with trying to get it working, but sometimes it's not possible to establish a connection. There are better places to go if you have to be productive. read more
