Omar from Air Kings was very professional and informative about my central ac and furnace. He gave me several options on what needed to be done and the best way forward to fix the problems and how much it would be. The outside condenser coil was extremely dirty with dust, dog hair, etc, and he got that all cleaned up. It also needed a capacitor, refrigerant, etc. I went with their Royal Maintenance club which saved me money on the repairs, and they will also be back in the fall to do maintenance on the furnace which is included. I first hired Air Kings to install a new AC unit at my home late in the season 2024. Although that unit needed service in just the first full season of use, I still felt pretty good about Omar and his company. I purchased two seasonal maintenance checks from them last year. During the 1st maintenance check in November 2025 he had informed me that the blower motor in my furnace was leaking oil. But I declined service at that time and my furnace worked fine all winter. When he came for the 2nd maintenance check on May 6 he told me the blower was still leaking oil and should be replaced. But he also said my 13 year old furnace was old enough that I should just get an entirely new furnace. Either option was a very big expense and I needed to consider what to do. But the very next morning the heat did not come on, it was 60° in my house with the thermostat set at 67°. Omar came back out and he was clearly annoyed, a major change in his personality. He showed me a blinking light on my furnace, told me it was a malfunction code that confirmed I needed a new blower motor. I told him it was a very bad and uncomfortable coincidence that my blower motor suddenly didn't work the morning after he had done the seasonal maintenance. He became very angry, raised his voice and said "What are you trying to say?! I don't like what you're accusing me of!" His belligerence was very unprofessional so I told him I would get another opinion and asked him to leave. Two hours later a technician from a different company told me my blower motor was sealed with internal lubricant and was not leaking at all. He also said my furnace was nowhere near old enough to need replacing. As I watched, he tested a capacitor that had failed and replaced it, which totally fixed the problem. It took 10 minutes at a total cost of $225. If Omar had been honest with me I would've bought that capacitor from him and he would still have me as a customer. Because I trusted him. And that was my mistake. There are only 2 possibilities- Either Omar totally misdiagnosed what was wrong with my furnace and really did believe the only option was to replace the blower motor, if not the entire furnace, OR he simply wanted to sell me very costly repairs I couldn't afford. I don't know which is true. But he does. Needless to say, I would never do business with Air Kings again. read more

Called NKS Heating and Cooling in late February as our heat had stopped working. Spoke to Omar and he indicated that he would not be able to perform a service call that evening, but asked where I lived and promptly dropped off two portable space heaters. Can you say Customer Service! BTW... we were new customers. Omar came by the next afternoon to take a look at our Furnace. He indicated that it was probably the motor which I was not at all surprised by. I asked if repairing was an option and he indicated that he thought that might be a possibility and we went that route, but he was very clear to point out that it may only be a temporary solution. In the end, it didn't matter as we had to replace. He explained why the old unit was failing and immediately began trying to locate a "hard to find" replacement. Omar came out the next day after driving from a job in Chicago, up to Mundelein and back to the NW suburbs to replace the unit. No issues through the rest of the winter. Omar contacted us in May to schedule our AC clean and check. Again, came out when he said he would and was courteous and professional. I was very happy with the prompt and courteous service we received from NKS and Omar. He showed up when he said he would and explained what he was doing every step of the way. DO NOT PURCHASE any appliances from Omar. He posts ads selling appliances with free delivery and a 60 day warranty. It was advertised as a counter-depth, but it is not...sticks out about 6 more inches and is not the 69 inches tall he advertised...more like 66. When he delivered the appliance it was very dirty, and the receipt shows a $50 delivery charge! He banged up both my front and back doorways. He left without connecting the water line for the ice and water dispenser. He stated he would be back the next day with the correct part and connect it. Next day, no show. After several days I ended up connecting the water line myself. After connecting the fridge leaked from underneath. I called to have it looked at and repaired, and he referred me to another guy who works for him part time. The guy promised to come Tuesday at 8pm, but never showed up. Now they are both ignoring my calls and texts. UPDATE: Omar told me that he told his assistant not to come to repair the fridge "under warranty", because I called too many times and he felt I just wanted something for free. I told him that I would write reviews and he responded, "Go ahead, you're not the only puppy in the pound!" He also told me that the only thing under warranty was the refrigerator, not the ice maker or water supply, so he wasn't obligated to connect the water line anyway! UPDATE: A few months after my original transaction, Omar called and asked me to remove my reviews from Yelp, Craigslist, and several other review sites because it was hurting his business. He told me he got out of the appliance sales business. I told him I wouldn't remove the reviews because I had to pay over $100 to repair a fridge that he sold me only a day before. I had the same issues as the guy below. I wasn't in town when my girlfriend purchased the fridge from them. When I came home. I noticed my front door and walls were banged up. The fridge from what my girlfriend said worked ok until about 5 days after, which is when I arrived. We called them countless times and never got a call back until I made a threat that I was going to file a complaint with the BBB of Chicago. Guy came today and didn't honor the 90 day warranty and charged us an additional $200. All in all I'm in the hole $750 not including a fridge I traded along to get the discount. We purchase a used/"refurbished" Samsung refrigerator from Omar. He said he would warranty it for 30 days. We paid almost $900 even though it had multiple "dings" in the front doors. The ice maker stopped working in the first week we owned it. We left many, many messages for him about it before he finally called back. He did stop by and look at it, spoke vaguely about what might be wrong, but did not admit until some time later, while we had all the while chased him w/multiple calls, that he really did not know how to repair it/what it needed. I suspect he simply didn't want to pay for a new ice maker, which we ended up shelling out $445 for-----to a repair service completely unrelated to Omar.
