As an avid buffet visitor, there's a lot you can expect, but honestly it's a buffet. They crank out a lot of food options so IMO your expectations have to be lowered. The main criteria is cleanliness. If the floors are sticky, restrooms super dirty like gas station restrooms, or food looking off like greasy or day old food. Then those are red flags. Luckily, No. Buffet passes the cleanliness test. We came after a funeral as typical scenario for the wake. The tasty items I liked was Steamed oysters, broccoli beef, and stir fry shrimps and salt and pepper shrimp. Their fried rice had the perfect seasoning too. I tried their soups not hot and sour and wonton. They were just ok. There were so many food options that I didn't even make it to the sushi, Mongolian bbq section. So next time I'm back in Sacramento I'll slow down and update how that is. Honestly for the price, taste, and variety, this is a good buffet. Can't be overly picky. The food itself, while there was variety, there were various dim sum items, sushi, hibachi grill, chow mein, rice, you name it. We came on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy, but for it being pretty busy, the food just seemed like it had been sitting a while. Nothing really looked appealing to me. Wish they had Sashimi here but only had rolls and nigiri. The seafood boil was what I ate the most, but even the sauce was watered down. It was ok. I drowned it in lemons. You get a bang with your buck but not for me. Dessert was an ice cream machine but wish they had toppings to go with it. There were also some fruit and cakes to choose from. Came here for the first time. Lots of variety but no flavor. They have ramen, dumplings, fried food, cold bar with seafood and salads and fruit, hibachi grill, hot Chinese food and sushi, desserts. Korean grill station was closed. Thin slices of fish on the nigiri and sushi. Too much rice to fish/fillings. All the Chinese food was ok but lacked flavor. Found a piece of Brillo pad in my dumpling. Didn't feel like eating much after that. Best thing available I ate was the black molten lava steamed bun which had a runny egg filling in the middle of it and served hot. Service was subpar as well. It's a popular spot on Saturday but their buffet prices are the same as the weekday prices. It's only $15.95. They re-stock popular items like pizza and shrimp even late in the afternoon. There's a unique dish Meat & Cheese Roll which is minced beef in melted cheddar wrapped in a flaky Strudel crust. I liked the Hot Pepper Chicken and went back for seconds. The dessert selection is gelato, cookies, and frozen yogurt. Frozen Yogurt is a basic selection of Vanilla and Chocolate. The busgirl picked up our dirty dishes every few minutes. If I was to believe all the bad reviews, I might have not even came here! A friend that lives locally suggested it to me. I'm here for work and wanted a nice quick buffet lunch. There's quite a few Chinese buffets in this area, but I choose this one cause it's right near SF Supermarket that I wanted to check out. I got here before 11:00am when they're supposed to open, but I saw people got here earlier and were eating already! You pay before eating here, different than most places where you pay afterwards. My friend got the "senior discount" for 62 and older, 10%, so his share was $18 and change instead of $21 for me. You pay and then seat yourself. A server will be right with you as you sit down and get you drinks if you want. Service was pretty good here and the English was better than most other places like this. The dining area was modern and clean. The food selection is huge, compared to most Chinese buffets I've been to. There's a Mongolian grill section, sushi section, with sashimi even! The wings were bigger than most buffets and tasty! Lot's of more "authentic" Chinese stuff here, like chicken feet! pig feet! and other organ meats. Affordable buffet. Has chinese food and a little bit of sushi. It's nothing fancy. Pretty large interior. You can also get To Go boxes if you don't want to do the buffet. The parking is good but the locations not the safest, so if you're not from South sac, I'm just giving you a heads up to keep your head on a swivel in the parking lot, esp at night. When my uncle was doing a eulogy, even w a mic, the servers are so clueless and rude- talking hella loud so that those of us by the door could barely hear what he was saying over their loud and unnecessary chatter amongst themselves about who knows what. They should've been aware and had the sense to kept quiet and not shout over to each other IN THE ROOM where someone's crying and speaking. One also reached across all my stuff and food and took forever to mess w the thermostat when I was trying to sit back down and mostly, I don't like random ppl that close to my food that I'm eating. I was worried dust or crap fr her sleeve would fall into my food since she was just uncomfortably close to it and also had me standing there waiting hella long before she finally moved. We all also had to ask for refills a million times for tea, water, etc and most of the time it never came or came hella later. We had the room for about 3-4 hours. I thought it should be two stars off, but changed my mind bc at this point, our family's been coming here so long that we knew the service would suck and chose it (again) anyway due to the cost being so cheap and the food being so good. We made a reservation for a large family get together for about 25 people. Tables were ready when we arrived at 11am on a Sunday. The food trays were fully loaded and regularly refilled. Everything tasted freshly made and there was a ramen bar, hibachi grill and kbbq station on top of all of the other selections. They have large seatings in the back of the restaurant and plenty of other smaller seatings as well. Typical chinese food: some buns, green beans, salt and pepper shrimp, orange chicken, etc., even a mongolian style noodle area that's diy. Sushi is ok, so much rice for the nigiri lol. Did not get any fruits or desserts, besides their vanilla ice cream (there is also chocolate and a mix of the 2 as well). Mussels and salt and pepper shrimp were the only main things I ate. Don't forget to grab some lemon for the mussels! They are cooked btw. For the price, you can't really complain as it's such a deal especially in this economy! I come here often with my girlfriend. But the last outing here, it was extremely rude service from the woman who comes out of the kitchen to refill food. I was grabbing some oysters and the oyster shell was unreasonably big and there was only a couple left so I went to grab the meat only and leave the shell, that lady grabbed a pair of tongs and she put the empty shell aggressively on my plate. I put it back and then she got mad and slammed the tongs back onto the bar and stormed off. The workers are constantly wiping the counters down and refilling up the food trays. I'm not sure if it was because we came at the right time, but for a Monday night I was worried they wouldn't have that many options out and especially not that many seafood. They had some American food such as wings fries pizza etc, salad bar along with cold seafood options, sushi bar with sashimis, dessert bar, fruits, and an ice cream machine. They also have a Mongolian noodle bar to build your own and have the cook toss it up fresh for you to your order right there. Place is kept neat and clean in the seating area as well. The workers get to the working and they work fast! They come around often to make sure you need a refill and to remove your plates. Places like this you may feel "rushed" by them especially when it comes to time for the bill. But they just want to assure you're paying your tab. So many ppl dine and ditch. They're just doing their job. We paid but was able to sit around and sing happy birthday to our mom. Just note bigger parties of 6 or more is automatic gratuity included. They allowed us to bring our own cake to celebrate my mom's birthday without a cake serving fee. They even bring you extra plates and plastic forks. So that was nice they allowed that. I forgot to call ahead of time to see if they could accommodate 9 adult males on a Monday. Thankfully this location is large and has tons of seating. The waiters do a great job removing those extra plates so you don't look greedy. you rarely have to ask for a refill because they come around often. The eating area is clean and tables are space out enough you don't feel awkward while you are indulging a plate of crab legs.
