So my family does a lot of our bigger stuff here. Mostly graduations and funeral stuff etc. We were here this past weekend and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the place is really clean and the food is always very fresh and tasty[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]. There's a lot of vegetarian options. Most of our (very large, Japanese) family eats meat and seafood and they all said everything was really fresh and delicious. The parking is good but the locations not the safest, so if you're not from South sac, I'm just giving you a heads up to keep your head on a swivel in the parking lot, esp at night. I'm knocking a star bc service sucked. When my uncle was doing a eulogy, even w a mic, the servers are so clueless and rude- talking hella loud so that those of us by the door could barely hear what he was saying over their loud and unnecessary chatter amongst themselves about who knows what. They should've been aware and had the sense to kept quiet and not shout over to each other IN THE ROOM where someone's crying and speaking. One also reached across all my stuff and food and took forever to mess w the thermostat when I was trying to sit back down and mostly, I don't like random ppl that close to my food that I'm eating. I was worried dust or crap fr her sleeve would fall into my food since she was just uncomfortably close to it and also had me standing there waiting hella long before she finally moved. We all also had to ask for refills a million times for tea, water, etc and most of the time it never came or came hella later. We had the room for about 3-4 hours. I thought it should be two stars off, but changed my mind bc at this point, our family's been coming here so long that we knew the service would suck and chose it (again) anyway due to the cost being so cheap and the food being so good. So really, that's on us that we came here anyway, knowing the service sucks for large groups.

Our favorite buffet, in love with the seafood. Good sushi, good everything. Very satisfied every time. The servers were on top of taking our plates and refilling our drinks. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Love how spacious this buffet is.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]You can bring a whole bus full of people and there will still be plenty of room for everyone.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Average chinese buffet. Don't have high expectations for customer service or the food. Came here Saturday lunch for $15.95 for a party of 11. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have large seatings in the back of the restaurant and plenty of other smaller seatings as well.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Typical chinese food: some buns, green beans, salt and pepper shrimp, orange chicken, etc., even a mongolian style noodle area that's diy. Sushi is ok, so much rice for the nigiri lol. Did not get any fruits or desserts, besides their vanilla ice cream (there is also chocolate and a mix of the 2 as well). Mussels and salt and pepper shrimp were the only main things I ate. Don't forget to grab some lemon for the mussels! They are cooked btw. For the price, you can't really complain as it's such a deal especially in this economy! I'm from the bay and there is only 1 place I can think of that could compare to this buffet in South City - and that is $20 and I woud say that's worse lol.

It's a popular spot on Saturday but their buffet prices are the same as the weekday prices. It's only $15.95. They re-stock popular items like pizza and shrimp even late in the afternoon. There's a unique dish Meat & Cheese Roll which is minced beef in melted cheddar wrapped in a flaky Strudel crust. I liked the Hot Pepper Chicken and went back for seconds. The dessert selection is gelato, cookies, and frozen yogurt. Frozen Yogurt is a basic selection of Vanilla and Chocolate. The busgirl picked up our dirty dishes every few minutes. Our waiter came by and asked if we wanted free refills on soda. Like most Chinese Buffets, there's free refills on soda.

INCREDIBLY RUDE LADY WHO TOUCHED MY PLATE AND SLAMMED TONGS INFRONT OF ME AND GOT SAUCE ON MY WHITE SHIRT.

I come here often with my girlfriend. But the last outing here, it was extremely rude service from the woman who comes out of the kitchen to refill food. I was grabbing some oysters and the oyster shell was unreasonably big and there was only a couple left so I went to grab the meat only and leave the shell, that lady grabbed a pair of tongs and she put the empty shell aggressively on my plate. I put it back and then she got mad and slammed the tongs back onto the bar and stormed off. This is a restaurant and this is in the customer service industry, I never have seen a waitress be incredibly rude to a customer. Maybe she was having a bad day but her behavior was unacceptable. Attaching her picture to this review.

This place didn't disappoint. I haven't been back year for years and I don't go to these type of buffets too often. It was my mom's birthday and this was her choice. The options they had to offer to me took me by my surprise. It was a Monday night we came at 6:30 and everything was fresh and clean!! I hate a buffet that is messy and sloppy. The workers are constantly wiping the counters down and refilling up the food trays. I'm not sure if it was because we came at the right time, but for a Monday night I was worried they wouldn't have that many options out and especially not that many seafood. That's where I come to get my meals worth is the seafood. Lol. They had some American food such as wings fries pizza etc, salad bar along with cold seafood options, sushi bar with sashimis, dessert bar, fruits, and an ice cream machine. They also have a Mongolian noodle bar to build your own and have the cook toss it up fresh for you to your order right there. Place is kept neat and clean in the seating area as well. The workers get to the working and they work fast! They come around often to make sure you need a refill and to remove your plates. Places like this you may feel "rushed" by them especially when it comes to time for the bill. But they just want to assure you're paying your tab. So many ppl dine and ditch. They're just doing their job. We paid but was able to sit around and sing happy birthday to our mom. Just note bigger parties of 6 or more is automatic gratuity included. They allowed us to bring our own cake to celebrate my mom's birthday without a cake serving fee. They even bring you extra plates and plastic forks. So that was nice they allowed that. Great for family meals.

Pretty standard buffet food so don't come here expecting high quality food. They have a pretty wide variety of food options available. And during dinner the turnover is pretty high so they were constantly refilling trays of food. A lot of things were on the saltier side. Service is pretty slow and we definitely had plates build up on the table waiting for them to take it away. Decent place for the price and what you get.

Has anyone had issues with safety in the parking lot?

How much per person on Friday night?

All through the week after 0300PM the price for Dinner goes up 4 or 5 dollars. Remember though that dinner includes access to their salmon, and extras like crab and oysters. So if your enjoy the extras it's worth $19 or $20 a person instead of…

Reservations for party of 30 or more guests?

Yes. I've attended multiple funeral receptions here and a couple of graduation celebrations.

Is there a different menu for lunch and dinner?

Yes, the menu is slightly different for lunch and dinner. However, the food is quite salty. It could be the rationale to discourage people from eating more.

    Are they serving tripe again?

    Yes

Indoor dining open yet or at least outdoor dining, any dining?

I just called and asked. The lady on the phone answered and said next week. (Today is 5/7/21).

Is the sushi made to order?

There are specific types they offer which are laid out on nice platters along one of the walls in the buffet area. The sushi chefs are behind the sushi bar and constantly rolling fresh rolls and putting them on the buffet, they go quickly so there…

    Do they have frogs?

    Nope.

    Do they have raw oysters?

No, however, they have raw mussels on the ice bar near the fruit. The oysters are steamed and absloutely delishous.

Well, I'm really glad I met my friend for lunch here today. It was delicious! The space is small inside with wooden picnic style table and benches giving this place a hole in the wall feel. We were given two menus and an ordering sheet to check off the items we want. I love self-ordering like this because I can take my time. I hate feel rushing and end up ordering too much food! Thanks to other fellow Yelper's reviews. I knew I wanted to try the Clay Pot Rice. We got the Medium Ribs with Black Bean Sauce. It's enough for 2 or 3 people to share. Scooping out the burned and crunchy rice on the bottom of the pot was the best part. So satisfying when you get a spoonful of the really crunchy part. I wish there were more meat/ribs but I remember you can add additional items for few extra bucks. I'll keep that in mind the next time. Yes, I plan to bring my boys here soon. We order 7 different barbeque skewers and they were all delicious and flavorful. You can tell the meat has been well marinated. You can select spicy or non-spicy. Each order comes in two pieces. It was the perfect amount of food for two of us. I recommend and will likely order again are Chicken Gizzards, Sausages, Beef an definitely Bacon Shrimp. If I had to pick only one, it would be the Bacon Shrimp. The bacon is securely wrapped around the shrimp and making the shrimp very juicy and flavorful. The waitress also pointed us to some self serve cold herbal tea that's mildly sweetened. It was surprisingly good. In traditional Chinese medicine, herbal teas are used to balance the body's internal environment and clear excess heat. It's very fitting to drink the herbal tea after eating all the barbeque meats! Happy to finally try this place and looking forward to trying more dishes next time.

You can taste the umami from the roe and other ingredients that I am not entirely sure are but taste familiar. I enjoyed and loved it. Mapo Tofu - Firm Tofu and good sauce. Although I do enjoy more of a Sichuan-style spicy mapo tofu (with the very numbing taste), I still found this mapo tofu delicious as you can taste the flavor of the pork and sauce coating the tofu. 2 Entree BBQ Platter: Roast Duck and Empress chicken - I'm biased towards roast duck. I love roast duck so any roast duck is good to me. Not a lot of comment on the duck. However, the Empress Chicken is nicely seasoned with the whatever broth they cooked it in. One of the few Empress Chickens where I can enjoy it without the scallion-ginger oil, but the scallion-ginger oil still elevates this Chicken to a higher level. Congee with Pork and Preserved Egg - Comforting and triggers a lot of nostalgic feelings for me. I didn't have to add too much additional soy sauce or chili sauce because the congee has a great base flavor. Preserved egg and pork weren't too chunky, rice was not too "mushy", and the overall congee was in a good thickness to create a nice mouth feel for each bite. Will visit again to try the other dishes.

Drinks aren't rated, as they don't sell house cocktails (though they sell a small selection of beers and wines). All-in-all a solid menu. The dilemma is that we generally felt unwelcome. We came by on a Sunday evening at 6:30 pm (and paid and left by 8:20 pm which is 10 minutes before closing). We were a party of 8 with diverse backgrounds, and with exception to one server (a woman wearing red who was maybe a manager), the staff just weren't friendly toward us. I will say that one woman in red was so kind. She made sure to say "bye" as we left. I will add one of my friends mistakenly tried to take a pair of chopsticks (as they are set on the table in a paper slip). She didn't realize they were store owned/reusable vs throwaway. She quickly apologized, but that became the final straw of awkwardness with the staff. The food was genuinely great with appropriate prices, so I may give it another shot down the road as a date night option.

My goal is to come here during dine downtown week in January to try that menu since I hear it's worth it. For parking, it's either street parking or you can do valet parking in the garage right next door. There is no self parking in the garage. Street parking is self parking. The restaurant itself is like a long, large hallway. When you walk in, your greeted by the host desk. Then you walk towards the back and pass a bunch of booths, tables and the bar area to the right. It's built like a Craftsman style layout. When I was here recently, it was for a friend's birthday and there was a group of 10+ of us. They only do family style food so our group was split into 2 tables and each table ordered their own entrees and meals to eat family style. I was at a table of perks I had just met that night, but we had no issues sharing plates. This may not be for everyone, do you can still order your own entrees, but there won't be much variety if you don't have a lot of people. The food was good. We ordered wallet shrimp, Buddha's delight, the curry noodles/chow mein, garlic green beans and chicken chow mein. All three good was good. I would say it's above average and comparable to Din Tai Fung, but a bit cheaper. I liked the walnut shrimp, garlic green beans and buddhas delight. Service was decent. IDK how I went for so long without being obsessed with honey walnut shrimp. the green beans were delicious. even getting them takeout, they remained crispy. They were also well seasoned. It was a chilly garlic rather than just garlic, which I liked. normally I feel like garlic green beans are under seasoned, but these ones were well done, flavoring wise. The orange chicken was really good. It actually tasted like purposeful seasoning rather than just relying on the orange to carry it. I wish it was crispier, but it probably would've been had I ordered it in restaurant. I wish the chicken pieces were smaller, but that's my personal preference. The chicken was really good quality/ cuts of meat. No fat or weird textured pieces.

On my latest visit it was a very busy Sunday, but I was able to place an order for take-out and then wait in my car for the order to be ready. I saw a couple of other Elites dining in when I was ordering, but it was so busy I couldn't properly say hi, so "HI DAVID AND EVA!" I'll have to keep an eye out for their next review, because whatever they had looked delish! I waited in the car for a bit and then when the order still needed a few more minutes I popped into the dollar store next door to kill a bit more time. Before I knew it my order was ready to go. They packed everything really nicely and we served it up as soon as we got home. Their rice noodle rolls are so flavorful and I love the sweet, salty and savory sauce that comes with it. The noodles are really filling, and the dishes we got would be enough food for 2-4 people depending on how hungry you are. We ate the rice rolls right away and then had leftover green beans and beef and mushrooms for lunch today. The green beans were fresh and had a great garlic flavor, without it being too much. The Beef and Mushrooms was great, the beef was tender and flavorful and the mushrooms soaked up all the sauce. There were also green beans in this dish, which was a perfect addition. I really need to dine in soon for the full experience, but take-out has always been a win for me.

We decided to try a little bit of everything and here is what we ordered: hot and sour soup, potstickers, spicy cucumbers, BBQ pork, BBQ pork fried rice, Mongolian beef, and honey walnut shrimp. The food came out fast and piping hot. Pretty soon our entire table was covered with dishes. We started with the hot and sour soup, which we both felt was lacking in the flavor department. It didn't have that spicy tang that you look for when you order hot and sour soup. The potstickers were fried crispy, but the dough was a little too thick. The spicy cucumbers had no flavor to them at all. And the honey walnut shrimp was not memorable. We both felt that the two best dishes were the BBQ pork fried rice and the Mongolian beef. The beef was tender and had good flavor. The prices were extremely fair and the portions were large, but all in all this was not my favorite Chinese restaurant in the area.

Since we did get seated 15 minutes before closing, we had to order quickly but we weren't rushed either. He was very helpful and made the experience better. Would definitely come back here to try other items on the menu!

Also more beverage options and dessert options than I recall compared to EG location. Located in down town area no parking lot , just street parking. Service was great, seems more open and spacious at this location, would be that there is more space over all and more light coming through the windows. Journey to the dumpling never lets me down. My go into item is always Peking spare ribs, delicious.

Thankfully, my mother in law knows the owners, so we received especially attentive and friendly service throughout the meal. Everyone was welcoming, our food came out fast, and they made sure we had everything we needed. The food was outstanding from start to finish. The food tasted fresh, flavorful, and was clearly made with quality ingredients. The Hainan chicken was tender, the roast duck was perfectly crispy and juicy, the fried rice was delicious, and every dish we tried was excellent. We'll definitely be back, and I highly recommend this spot if you're looking for authentic, high quality Chinese food. The photos speak for themselves!

Its been so bad the past decade that we decided to give it another chance. Different management, different chefs, different everything basically. The fried flounder was so fried that I could not separate the bones, not only that, you could barely get any meat out of it. Our table had nine people and they only provided 6 buns with our peking duck. I thought they didn't have enough steamer space and was going to bring more but nope. The shrimp in their salted egg pumpkin and shrimp dishes was overcooked and their deep fried pig intestines were extremely stinky. Their portion sizes downsized like crazy and it's so bad that we didn't even finish any of the dishes. The best dish was a stir fry cauliflower dish that I could make at home. It was supposed to come with pork, but I only saw itty bitty pieces of meat. The service was also super bad and slow. I was eating their fried rice and bit on a piece of broken yellow plastic with multiple sharp points. Prior to that, I was feeding my toddler the rice so THANKFULLY it didn't go to him. When we told the server, which was an older lady with glasses and bangs, she's like oh... then she took it to the kitchen and pretended that nothing had ever happened when she came back out. Shes been there for years, and I remember seeing her when we were regulars. I wasn't expecting anything, except for some accountability. I used to love this place so it's pretty sad to see how much it went downhill.... This business needs to be scrapped. The current 3 stars is giving them too much credit and it must have been due to when they used to be good, in the past.
