This the second time here and they are pretty consistent. The comments about the rude service are actually expected from me at a Chinese buffet. The place was huge and had a line out of the door but luckily we were seated very quickly. We came after my daughter's graduation (go Ags!) and liked the variety of food from sushi, to salad, Mongolian buffet style, and seafood. The snow crab was kind of salty and I would avoid the legs with the brown spots because that means they were not attached to the crab when it was cooked are probably started to spoil. Okay Okay Only in Sacramento would I be going to a buffet and I'm proud of it. This large establishment located in South Sac was brought to my attention by a friend and I'll have to say, my second visit was made much happier by the amount of crab legs and shrimp I was able to consume. I'm not much of a fan of the buffets. Why? Because the quality of food is usually mediocre and honestly, how much Chinese style food could people take in one sitting? One word = A L O T The stations here are divided in 8 stations, each busy with different preparations of Chinese style, seafood, and dessert. The seafood station was stocked with crab legs, shrimp, oysters, clams, and salads. The dim sum bar had the typical types of mini appetizers ranging from egg custard bun, fried dumplings, har gow, egg flower soup. The three other stations were typical "Engrish" style concoctions, as one pointed out by my friend, "Seafood Cheese?" An elaborate take on imitation crab, tossed with some sort of cheese, packed onto a cockle shell and baked. Generic station of chow mein, Chinese broccoli, Brandy Fried Chicken (not good and savory, a disappointment), and sweet and sour pork. A Mongolian style noodle station where the chefs make your dish to order. The sushi counter, where amazingly, I had some decent nigiri rolls, something unexpected at a Chinese buffet. I'm happy to report that I've added more to the repertoire of consuming things I would never touch. I nibbled, on a dare, the chicken feet. The slightly firm jellied mass wrapped around the bones was a texture I'm not too inclined to, but the flavor was not bad: teriyaki style. I later used the claw of the foot to clean out the boiled shrimp, delivered fully veined and packed since Thanksgiving. I had three plates of crab legs. And even though these were long and narrow legs, once the crackers were delivered, I was in high heaven and spent most of the evening cracking away. The only drawback is that the job has a tendency to become quite messy and I took trips back and forth to the washroom to clean my hands. Inexpensive (one drawback is that they charge you for drinks, so soda is NOT free), good service in that the staff is on top of clearing the plates, and food stations up to par with safe food handling, I will always be up to coming back and sharing a large table with the family of good friends out here. read more

No# 1 Buffet will give you a No# 1 Barffet.. maybe even an epic #2. This place has really gone down the poohole. It used to be ok when they first opened up years ago, but seems like they've gotten cheaper in terms of quality and variety. At first glance, it seems like a great buffet: lots of variety, different stations, seafood. But on closer inspection and taste... 1. Salt & Pepper Crab is OLD! It has the texture of crab that had been dead for days, and then cooked and masked with seasoning. 2. Crawfish is bland. Cold crab legs are bland. 3. Honey walnut shrimp is covered in stale batter and excessive sweet sauce. Other fried items look oil-soaked or dry from sitting out too long. 4. The oysters everyone lines up for is smothered in super salty soy sauce. Not even worth the wait! 5. Salmon filets look promising, but is so dry you'd think it was cooked in hell. 6. Most of the raw meat at the Korean station looks old and dry. 7. Sushi station should be renamed as Imitation Crab Salad and Rice Rolls. I asked the chef if he had tobiko and he said no.. wtf happened to the tobiko they used to have?! Actually, wtf happened to the fish in the rolls?! Or even tempura? 8. Everything else looks unappealing The only items worth putting in your mouth are the Korean BBQ short-ribs and the clams. Service is not bad. Never had a bad experience with them, but our last guy kind of looked at the bill and us when we didn't tip him. Hello! Gratuity was already tacked on because we had a large party! I finally convinced my mom that this place sucks! I never really liked this place. I been here a couple of times, that's only because my mom wants to eat here because of the "selections" they have and the cheap lunch price. The noodles have a weird yellow appearance, their chow fun has no meat or veggies it in, besides bean sprout, and their sushi selection sucks! Most of their sushi consisted of cucumber and imitation crab meat and there's hardly any avocado. I was about to bite into a piece of sushi when I poked into it w/ a chopstick and noticed that they only gave me a slither of avocado. What is this? an Avocado drought? Either that or they're stingy w/ their avocado.They're stingy with their shrimp too, a lot of their dumplings only had a tiny piece in it. Geeze, no wonder their buffet is so cheap. My first time and it will definitely be my last time... I came here on a Friday afternoon for lunch. The price per person is cheap for $8.45 during lunch hour. Oh and as an FYI, soda is an additional charge. They have a fairly big selection of food items to choose from including Japanese sushi, Korean BBQ along with Mongolian BBQ. The food served here is low quality and is certainly not fresh. I filled my plate during my first round with noodles (hoa phan), cream cheese wontons, dumplings, corn and green beans. The noodles were actually pretty decent compared to everything else I ate. Although it was a little on the oily side. The dumplings were not warm from what I remember and tasted like they were left overs from 2 days ago. Cream cheese wontons were not crispy nor were they fried long enough! They were cold and you can almost taste the doughy texture when you bite into one. The green beans appeared to be wilted and bruised, but they still cooked them anyway. After my first round, I was hesitant to try something else! A lot of the hot food items looked very greasy and non appetizing. During my second round, I only got beef tripe and chicken feet. Took only one bite of each and that was it! The beef tripe was way too salty! My dining companion agreed with me as well. The chicken feet was cold and really did not taste fresh! I didn't want to risk getting a stomach ache!! As you can tell, I definitely did not get my money's worth here. Although it's cheap, I'd probably recommend you eat elsewhere. Today 05/11/24, my family and I went to have lunch at Number #1 buffet 7090 Stockton Blvd, Sacramento, CA 95823. The waitress named Ms. Anne did on purpose by spilling crayfish shells on the table twice. At first she came to clean up but the second time she didn't. She was so rude because a crayfish shell spilled on forks and napkins. On April 27, 2024, she pretended to spill 3 times on the table. Since, she spilled food over the table many times, I can not stop thinking of her rudeness any more. We decided to report her bad behavior to her manager and the restaurant's owners, maybe to re-train her for restaurant service. Ms, Anne, always demands tips more than %10. Every time, we go to eat at #1 buffet, we left cash about %10 but she still asked for more. Not enough, not enough she said. We felt so bad but we never reported it to the manager. We noticed that every time we go, she tries to give us a bad look not to remove plates from the table. Drop bill early at table. We felt that she wanted us to go out in 30 minutes. She spoke Chinese in front of us with her colleague, we are bad customers. She acted like she was a BOSS. Demanding higher tips but providing bad service to customers. Today, we decided not to give her a tip and report her bad behavior to her manager. Also, report the incident to the City of Sacramento for demanding tips more than %10. Otherwise she spilled crayfish shells over the table again and again. Next time, she would pour crayfish shells over our heads for not fulfilling her demand. Bad experience for Mother Day Eve 2024. I don't understand why this place has such low reviews. I have been here several times and even went on my partner and I's 3rd anniversary. I love this place. the seafood is great, there are American dishes for picky children, and typical Chinese offers like beef and broccoli, sweet and sour pork, fried and white rice, and even a Mongolian bbq bar, and sushi bar, plus dessert bar with ice cream machine. The big difference between Brunch, and Dinner, is one question, Do you want delicious oysters? (Oysters are not on the brunch / lunch buffet) I've been there for brunch, the price is great, but I prefer to go for dinner. The oysters are worth the extra $5. The steamed oysters are absolutely delicious and leave me with a wonderful taste. I end up drinking the broth leftover in the shell after I've eaten the oyster. The only issue is, there's never enough. They refill often, however, the oysters are such a demand item, it's difficult to get a plate of them. If it's busy, you literally have to grab tongs and wait the 5-8 minutes at the spot on the buffet and grab some as soon as the lady brings more out. This method has worked well for me. I have also found that if you go about an hour and a half before close, or when its kind of slow, there are plenty and I've had the opportunity to devour several plates of oysters in a row. The other seafood, clams, mussels, shrimp scampi ect, are also delicious. They also have king crab claws and cold mussels on the iced fruit bar. The soups are also quite good. I always get several servings of the crab soup with tofu. Its so yummy! My partner gets the mushroom soup, he says its amazing. I'm not a big sushi fan, but my partner guzzles them down. He says their good quality. Not "the best ever" but great for the price. The dessert bar is also quite good. I love the mini tiramisu and other desserts are quite good. This place is great, the staff is attentive, I've never had to ask for a drink refill. There is also a neet pond right when you walk in with HUGE Koy fish swimming around in it. Very lovely. The restrooms are also very clean. The food always seems fresh, I am clueless how people are posting the seafood seems old; its always hot and savory, especially if their busy, the trays get refilled roughly every 5 to 8 minutes with fresh hot food. I think people are just posting negatively because they're wanting 5 star authentic Asian dining from a buffet. Its not 40$ a plate food, its not super super fancy, but its nice looking and the food is very savory and delicious, especially for the price and all you can eat. If they served 3 day old seafood people would be getting sick and the would get shut down. Don't listen to the 1 and 2 star haters, this place is at least 4 stars, maybe 4 1/2. We decided to try this Chinese Buffet on the basis that the parking lot was always full. As expected, there was a long waiting period to get a table. After ~ 20 minutes we were seated way in the back part of the restaurant. This made it a little difficult for us to maneuver past other diners packed tightly around us. When we finally got to the buffet area, there was an impressive variety of dishes to choose from. However I noticed some of the options were way too squeamish for my taste! (Such as chicken feet, fish heads, octopus, etc). Anyway, I piled my plate with the most recognizable of foods. Disappointment started at the first bite. The food tasted either bland, salty, stringy, chewy, or greasy! I ended up going for the fruit and eating some of the desserts instead.
