I used to eat here all the time when I was with my ex husband and remember the food was always so delicious. Me and my daughter decided to order some Chinese from here for dinner since we haven't eaten here together in some time and we decided on delivery. I remembered that they had really good sesame chicken so I ended up getting the sesame chicken combo which came with rice and an egg roll. I also paid an extra 1.00 and got broccoli added to it. My daughter wanted lo mein so I got her a pint of that, we also ordered the crab Rangoon- which came with 6 large ones. The food arrived and was very hot even though we had it delivered which was surprising but awesome. We started chowing down and it all tasted so good. We ended up sharing everything and my daughter even tried and liked the crab Rangoon- which I was surprised about. "...mouse droppings observed throughout the facility", as per the city's latest health inspection report, along with other disgusting violations far too numerous to mention. Click the attached screenshots for proof (the report is so long that I had to post it in two screenshots). As such, it is no surprise that several customers have reported becoming sick after eating No. 1 China's "food", as per their reviews posted on Yelp and other review sites. The food itself ranges from average to (more often) old, rancid, spoiled, and/or otherwise gross. Notice that the fry oil never gets changed, so all of the fried/grilled food tastes like stale, old, burnt oil. The seafood is particularly old tasting, like it was frozen several years ago. Prices are higher than average. Service is ruder and slower than average. Regardless, I do not want this "food" if it is free. Go anywhere else to eat. Even a garbage dump will have fresher food and a more sanitary atmosphere. I was craving Chinese food yesterday so since I was in the neighborhood I choose No. 1 because of their reviews. There were no customers at the time I ordered shrimp with Chinese vegetables and a shrimp roll. Everything taste good but while I was eating my stomach started hurting real bad and need I say more? The $10.10 went straight thru me. Neva again it had to be some kind of bacteria, un-fresh food or unsanitary cooking situation going on my stomach reacts to bacteria quick. read more

One of my favorite Chinese takeout spot in the northeast... there service is fast and the wait for your food is no longer then 10-15mins. Would reccomend the chicken with broccoli combination platter or there general tap chicken is pretty good aswell. Would be coming back here real soon!! read more

Great chinese fare. The eggrolls have not shrunken in size like many other local chinese places. Plenty of meat in pork and chicken dishes and shrimp is not over done. You have to try their house special wonton soup.its awesome!!! Today I stopped into No. 1 China to see if I found my new spot for Chinese food unfortunately the search continues I had the General Tso chicken with shrimp fried rice and a pint of wonton soup The chicken was cooked fresh but the sauce was a little too sweet The shrimp fried rice lacked flavor The wonton soup was okay but not good enough to finish it Atmosphere The woman at the counter was very nice. They are not open for dining but the dining area was not clean. This place has potential but it needs some TLC. I might come back occasionally but I won't go out of my way for it. I did observe chef in the back not properly wearing a mask if that matters to anyone read more

No. 1 China is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants since moving to Philly. I order from them at least three to four times a week. The Szechuan Shrimp, Hot and sour soup, shrimp w/Broccoli in garlic sauce are among my family's favorite dishes and everything always tastes great! if I could do zero stars I would. I order frequently through the Uber eats app but I also go in person when I visit the nail salon next door. my experience is the same. rude. rude in person, your going to stand there looking stupid till they're ready to service you. I order through the Uber eats app, they personally deliver and the drivers expect a tip. today I was charged and received no food but received 15 missed calls from the owner. accusing me of never paying when I have proof of payments. they also add extra charges through the app that they'd never add in person. I let it slide and let it count as a tip. but $10 for 4 wings that they refry throughout the day? more than $2 to switch from white to fried rice? I could spend $50+ in an order and get a charge on my card for $70-80. showed proof to the ignorant bitch owner who was calling me that I pay and all my payments go through. worst experience with a Chinese store. I hope it gets shut down I've seen some pretty nasty things here. the food is okay for the upper northeast, but they are some scamming crooks. read more

My coworker took me here for lunch one day. I will say the service is pretty quick. We waited less than 10 mins for our food. Which I guess could be good or bad. In terms of food, it was just okay. I have had better Chinese food from other places near by. But this place does have really cheap lunch specials. It was $5.25 for my platter. this is my first time going to this spot because i was in the mood for Chinese food after work. my friend and i order combination platters, he ordered the bar-b-q spare ribs with pork fried rice and an egg roll and i ordered the chicken and broccoli with the pork fried rice and the egg roll and with that we also got fried pork dumplings. i have to say that all the food was good, warm, fresh and fast. i am very very pleased with this experience and i will most certainly be returning. this is my new favorite Chinese spot. read more

LMAO! Number One China's Google score is 3 out of 30, and nine of the 10 reviewers rated them "0". I have tried these goons three times. I can unequivocally say that this is the worst Chinese restaurant in the world. The seafood is invariably spoiled and horrible tasting, most of the other food is bland tasting at best, the staff is nasty and slow, the prices are high, and the overall experience is dreary. read more
