Best Restaurant in Towne! Nice workers. Clean. Great food. ******************************** ******************************** ********************************

Country fried chicken, sweet potato soufflé, green beans

Stopped here after doing the pumpkin train ride and LOVED everything about this place. The waiter was fantastic and very friendly. The ambiance was decorated for Halloween which our 2 year old loved. The portions were great and prices were cheap! If we are back in the area, we will definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Super clean, awesome waitress, great food. We had the trio starter, everything was good and not greasy, star of this dish is the cheese curds. Split the Rooste Club very good, lots of meat.

Excellent food at a more than reasonable price! The owner spent time with us explaining the history and the wait staff was excellent!

Breaded tenderloin sandwich with loaded tater tots.

The food at this restaurant is very good. I've been to Ole Rooste three times now and everything I have ordered has been amazing! Most recently, I had the breaded tenderloin sandwich with loaded tater tots. Portion was large, too much to eat in one meal! I really like the simple, clean decor and natural light. Owner and staff have always been pleasant and welcoming! This is a wonderful addition to our small town! Give it a try!

Rooste Stack (no ham) with tots. Outstanding!
Joe T.

Stopped here while passing through for a quick carry out and dinner in our car on our road trip. The Rooste Stack was absolutely killer, the alfredo was to die for and most importantly -- the service and cleanliness was second to none. We live quite a ways out from Connersville but will most certainly be back!

Restaurant has cute country themed decorations. It's a nice sit-down restaurant in Connersville. Food was good with reasonable prices. Large portion sizes. Would recommend!

They did say that the salad bar was unlimited. What little or was. Yet, they required you to get a second small plate rather than just give you one large plate to get your food. Places like this should be shut down. Save your money go to mcdonald's at least there. They have eggs in a salad. When my wife informed them that we would not be back to have dinner here ever again. The cook basically, just shrugged your shoulders and said, whatever. It's businesses like this that give the United States a bad name.

None of the food stood out to me, or made me want to go back. There's no wow factor. French fries are crinkle cut and bland so make sure you add seasoning. Mushroom burger was just a flavorless mushroom burger. It was ok. But not worth the 40 minute drive.

I went with a group, we tried everything, ranging from pancakes, to omelettes, and especially that they have, which is kind of a mixed breakfast skillet. I made my own omelette and there were plenty of toppings to select and customize it in the way that you wanted. The mail comes with your choice of toast and fried potatoes, which I think Minney would also called shredded hashbrowns. I hate a skimpy omelette, and this one sure pleased me. It was filled with green peppers, plenty of cheese and ham chunks. The food came out piping hot. The waitress was attentive and kept our coffee full as we sat and visited for an hour. The restaurant was filled with locals, and I love the vibe, there are plenty of spaces to eat alone, or groups and tables together, and bring your family. It is also worth noting that in the 2023 Tri State Food Battle battle in Connersville hosted this year by Friends of Fred; this restaurant placed third place with their food truck. Give it a shot, it is worth the drive!

Took a LONG time to fill out drinks. two coffees, hot chocolate, tea, lemonade and soda. Food took a minute to fill, but not overly long. After leaving our meals, she avoided our group. Needed drink refills, we had to flag some one else to get the refills. We asked for to go boxes, that a an incredible chore. Ask for drinks to go, again she wasn't happy. I loved my food. But she ruined the experience. Not sure I'd go back . Food gets a 5 out of 5. The waitress gets a 0 out of 5.

The only thing I tell you is for parties under six you may have a way if you go anytime after five when we left, it was standing room only we left about 5:40 and they were packed. My suggestion, skip lunch go for an early dinner.

It gives you a warm feeling watching people catching up with each other and just being friendly. And the staff is a huge part of that experience. They will make you feel like a VIP. You might even meet some of the cooks who sometimes deliver the food themselves and the owner who also has a strong presence in the restaurant. Apparently, Lumpy's is a favorite of the locals. The staff calls the regulars by name. Everyone else is "Honey." I was "Honey." There was a table of regulars drinking coffee and talking politics and shooting the bull. It's a salt of the earth kind of local diner. A table opened up by the door after ten minutes. The menu is filled with comfort food. Most meals under $10. Nothing fancy, omelettes, burgers, sandwiches. Our server was sweet and recommended the tenderloins. The dining room is simple. Chairs and tables and a few booths. On the back wall are old photos of veterans. Local veterans being remembered by the cafe. My husband had the Big Tenderloin (which is award winning) with seasoned fries. The tenderloin was as big as his head. The meat was moist and tender and the breading seasoned well. The fries were crispy thin-cut with a few spices. He ate half the sandwich. I had the Crispy Chicken Sandwich. It was also seasoned with a crunchy breading similar to the tenderloin. The meat was moist. The cole slaw was creamy and sweet....delicious. They do a robust business in-house and carry out. If you are looking for avocado toast and and oat milk latte, this is not the place to come. If good old comfort food will suffice, then it just doesn't get better than Lumpy's.
