    Pea salad
    Julie M.

My forever favorite. The smoked sausage sandwich is shaved smoked sausage perfectly grilled, with coleslaw and tartar sauce. The silver clouds has blended ice cream and kahula, the pea salad is the best I have ever had and they always bring you chips, veggies and dip to snack on. Marvelous afternoon late lunch at the bar.

Latest hours I won't detour again for this place.

Awesome buffet! Delicious salad bar with lots of toppings and pasta salads. Lots of choices from dessert to ice cream and all the fixings!!! Only an hour from Indy and worth the price!! Plenty of parking

The food is sanitary and they make you work gloves to grab the food and utensils. The service is amazing too.

Food was terrible... We came expecting a full buffet, and got fried chicken and some veggies. No dessert! Very diappointed!

Enjoyed the Fried Shrimp, house salad, green beans, and appreciate the appetizer given while waiting for our food.

We settled on cheeseburgers that came out hot and fresh. Vegetables were cool, crisp and fresh providing a great accompaniment to the well seasoned hamburger patty. Topped with a slice of American cheese and a side of crisp tater tots this was a great meal on this blue sky summer day. Overall, this is a classic American diner featuring hamburgers, hot dogs and corn dogs. A local favorite also on the menu is the breaded or grilled pork tenderloin. In addition to hot food there was plenty of ice cream available for the sweet tooths in the crowd. We closed the deal with milkshakes; one vanilla and one black raspberry. Both hand-spun and excellent. Not so thick you couldn't get it through a straw but not so thin you felt like you were drinking a glass of milk. A perfect end to this classic American meal. Seating was plentiful; all tables and chairs arranged in groups of 2, 3 and 4 seat tables with a larger 6-top in the middle. The business also had a nice clean and well stocked restroom which always makes me feel better knowing that they have an eye for cleanliness. Price point was perfect for the quality and quantity of food you get. Overall this is a great little spot in Hagerstown in you are in the area looking for a quick bite to eat. My only critique is the staff... and this may have been an off day for the young man who took our order. I had never been here before so I asked the young man behind the counter what he recommended; what was the best thing on the menu. His response was a little stunning, "I don't know, I don't eat here much." This was a perfect opportunity to point me toward any menu item available but he missed the mark. Maybe just an off day and not enough to lower my rating but something I felt was worth noting.

Apparently, Lumpy's is a favorite of the locals. The staff calls the regulars by name. Everyone else is "Honey." I was "Honey." There was a table of regulars drinking coffee and talking politics and shooting the bull. It's a salt of the earth kind of local diner. A table opened up by the door after ten minutes. The menu is filled with comfort food. Most meals under $10. Nothing fancy, omelettes, burgers, sandwiches. Our server was sweet and recommended the tenderloins. The dining room is simple. Chairs and tables and a few booths. On the back wall are old photos of veterans. Local veterans being remembered by the cafe. My husband had the Big Tenderloin (which is award winning) with seasoned fries. The tenderloin was as big as his head. The meat was moist and tender and the breading seasoned well. The fries were crispy thin-cut with a few spices. He ate half the sandwich. I had the Crispy Chicken Sandwich. It was also seasoned with a crunchy breading similar to the tenderloin. The meat was moist. The cole slaw was creamy and sweet....delicious. They do a robust business in-house and carry out. If you are looking for avocado toast and and oat milk latte, this is not the place to come. If good old comfort food will suffice, then it just doesn't get better than Lumpy's.
