We went yesterday 2/25/2023. We entered into their establishment 15 minutes before they were going to close and they greeted & seated us right away. They were missing a few items from the menu but none that we wanted so that was fine. Baldwin finally got some much needed love! I was so excited to try this spot when I heard about it's opening and it did not disappoint! The place is a little small, but is wonderfully decorated and clean. I ordered the Wyld Card which came on a jelly donut. It was perfectly prepared, juicy & flavorful. It's very rare that my husband, 6yo, & myself each enjoy our entire meal at a restaurant. Luckily, NGBJ is only a 15 minute drive from us because we will return. My husband got the smash cheeseburger (AMAZING) & the steak burger (DELICIOUS). I got an enormous salad that was also great. My child got the grilled cheese & apples which he ate (took half to go and actually ate the leftovers!). Staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Let me tell you about a neighborhood gem of a burger joint. I was out on a Friday eve and just looking around for something to eat. It was after 9pm and the 10pm restaurant curfew was fast approaching. I found this place in Baldwin on Atlantic Ave. It is not a large place but their food is big on flavor. The big thing with this place is the peanut butter and jelly burger on cinnamon raising toast. I would have never imagined you could add that to a burger. The meat itself is of high quality steak they grind up and put 8oz of this tender beef into their burger. I was really impressed with the flavor. I was warned the burger would be sweet. It had a tinge of sweet but it was really good. The quality of the meat was amazing. When we entered the establishment, they are very cautious to people they do not know. It was getting closer to 930 so they did not have us sit, but they explained the 10pm closing. They have 4 beers on tap, including the hard berry seltzer. I took a lager which was refreshing and waited for out burgers to come out. I substituted mac and cheese for fries, and I did not know there was an upcharge which was not alot, but they should have mentioned it. Thats why I gave them 4 instead of 5. The people working there are very friendly and the young lady was sassy which I liked actually. She was really quite nice and I saw her checking on the last table to make sure they were ok. I believe they have close to 20 different types of burgers which I would not hesitate to try all of them. I was going to order the Brussels sprouts salad but they guy advised too much food and he was correct. My friend ordered the Atlantic burger which has a sunny side egg in it and quite spicy. For me, it was quite spicy but it was so delicious. I ate half of my burger and warmed up the other half they next day. It stood up in flavor and juicy the next day. I'm confused. Well, only slightly confused. Is it "No Good Burger Joint" or "That No Good Burger Joint?" The Yelp page says the former, but the front of the shop and the menu are the latter. Either way, despite this name conundrum, I know one thing for sure, this place is delicious (not the place itself, the burgers...you get it). I came here not too long ago with fellow Yelp Elite Matthew K. and an amigo of ours to experience burger greatness. Actually, we had a wait a few minutes to sit and begin said greatness as No Good is rather small. Only a few tables, a counter top by the window, and a three-seat bar setup. Luckily for us, after about 5-10 minutes, those bar seats opened up and so we had a place to dine. We also were able to look straight on at the eclectic wall of burger/meat decor and the count-on-one-hand beer tap handles (I'm curious, in the future, about the handle made specifically for this place). Once seated, the friendly bartender/waitress/owner/manager/human being gave us some menus, a specials list, and we were given the incredibly difficult task of choosing a meaty handheld. No Good has quite the selection of intriguing burger options with a slew of toppings to go along with each. Honestly, I felt like I was in the mood for a burger, but could have totally went for Italian that night. So when I read the specials and saw the Lil' Vinny, I knew the foody stars had specifically aligned for this evening's meal. After ordering up, we were given a little tin of popcorn to share between us (nice touch) and we began the waiting game. For a smaller-sized spot, they were doling our dinners at a reasonable pace (their milkshakes coming out from the back looked great) so it wasn't too long before our burgers landed in front of us. Well mine was more like an actual piece of Italy because this thing was huge! A meaty patty covered in melted mozzarella, tomato sauce, fried pepperoni, and crumbled sausage all sandwiched between two pieces of Texas toast and topped off with a fried ravioli. I don't think this thing was meant to be eaten with hands, but I tackled this monstrous handheld and within a couple of bites my taste buds were like flavor fireworks. It was amazing how you could pinpoint every part of the burger, and most importantly, the meat itself. This wasn't a thin patty which was great to see, and it held a lot of flavorful juiciness to it, reminding me that I was, in fact, eating a burger (not Italy). Yeah, it was messy and huge, perhaps something I might not tackle again, but damn was it good. The steak fries on the side weren't half bad either. Both chums also enjoyed their more, normal, burgers which is a positive for the future when (not if!) I return. Quick side note before I sum things up. All aspects were near perfect, from food to service and everything in between (price worked nicely too), but an interesting conversation went on for a moment between the three of us and that one aforementioned employee. She had stated some interaction with Yelp and how she really didn't see the need for it, or whatever they wanted for No Good. Hey, to each business owner their own on whether or not they feel like Yelp can be a positive for their establishment, but seeing the 4 1/2 star cumulative rating of No Good would personally leave me interested in being open to continuing to get my name out their in this competitive burger world, any way I can. Despite the lack of Yelp love, things were still five stars, easy. Though overall, No Good Burger Joint (or That, to start) was a complete package of scrumptiousness and service. No Good Burger is freaking awesome...a small business crafting unique burgers packed with delicious flavor combinations and portions that almost guarantee a second meal. I came here with my husband and close friend on a Wednesday evening. The location has a small indoor dining area, but luckily there were still two tables available and we were seated promptly. The main menu is on their website, which is easily accessed via a QR code included on the "specials" menu on each table. We ordered a round of drinks first and then burger entrees. I decided to try the Dogfish Head Mandarin & Mango Crush and was warned it is very juicy by our server. I sometimes drink sour ales; so I was ready for a fruit forward beer when he brought me a glass. Dogfish Head has many really good brews and I would add that one to the list. It was juicy in a fresh, crisp sort of way, but complemented the ale well. My friend ordered a white wine that she said was perfect and my husband decided to go dessert first that night by ordering a strawberry milkshake, which was really creamy and packed with strawberry flavor. We also ordered onion rings for a side and they were crispy, just the way we like them. For our burgers we ordered The Atlantic, That Winzie, and The Honcho (special). All three burgers were works of art and thoroughly hit our burger hankering spot. The Atlantic is well balanced in meat, cheese and veggies. That Winzie is unbelievably good....I wasn't sure how the pineapple would integrate with the avocado, egg, bacon, and beef, but it was perfect. The Honcho was a massive combination of beef, onion rings, chopped onions, cheese, chili and jalapenos. It was delicious and a ton of food. All the burgers came with fries or you could upgrade your side for $2. I upgraded to the mac and cheese side and that was really good too. We ended up needing boxes to take our leftovers home. The staff/management were very approachable and we had a great conversation with one of the gentlemen. We were surprised with a bowl of ice cream before we left and though we were stuffed we managed to find room for the ice cream... LOL. I just had to try this place given the rave reviews so far. It is a small joint, lighted with lightbulbs positioned radially so that they appear to be the blades of a fan. Their Burger Joint House Lager and Blue Moon were excellent. The waitress checked in on us repetitively to see how everything was, and offered popcorn while we waited. The Pops Burger was a force to be reckoned with I have to tell you. One half pound of delicious medium rare ground beef, caramelized onions mixed with cooked ground beef, cheese and thick slab bacon comprise this sandwich. I planned to take half home, but well, I couldn't stop, ok? Please don't judge. Tater tots (these remind me of my childhood) were so delicious as well. Have been here 3 or 4 times now, all times ordered take out. We usually don't eat it til about an hour after we pick it up and we don't reheat anything because its still that good. I get a regular burger with LTO, pickles and cheese and my boyfriend gets his with mushrooms, crispy onion strings, pickles and cheese. They're always cooked correctly. Sometimes missing a topping but its so good i don't care. The buffalo wings were very good too but we learned after the first order that the burger was big we barely had room to eat the wings.
