The occasion: A high school reunion of three. One, I hadn't seen for 30 years, since graduation. The other, a couple years. The reason: Nostalgia. We had spent a good amount of our high school days at one of the local Noble Roman's, working part time. What a blast from the past! NR used to be your typical delivery-oriented pizza parlor in the olden days. We kneaded, spun, flipped and baked doughs day in and day out. Sure, we had a half dozen tables to wait on, but nothing big. They have now become "craft pizza & pub" shops. They certainly don't look like they used to, however, what hadn't changed was the smell!! As soon as I walked in, memories of 30 years past came right back. I'm not saying it smelled bad or anything. It was just the very specific smell of their pizza--probably the dough, and it certainly took me back. Having grown up by a few years, I definitely appreciated that they had a bar area, which is where I got situated until the three of us rekindled, at which point we moved to a booth. What was sorta strange and a bit disorienting was the fact that we could not order at the table/booth. Once we had moved away from the bar, we were forced to order at the cashier counter. B...but we would have been waited on at the bar? I was confused. Anyway, we had the Sicilian, which I remembered was one of the staples at NRs. We also had an order of the breadsticks with cheese and marinara dipping sauce. To my surprise, all of them tasted JUST LIKE they tasted 30 years ago. Gotta say, it's not everyday I revisit a place after so many years, only to find the taste hadn't changed not even a bit, for better or for worse.. In this case, worked for me. Because this is a Yelp review, I try to be as objective as possible. Nostalgia aside, I can't bring myself to objectively give them 4 stars, based on the quality of both their pizza and hospitality. I would have loved to bump it up to 3.5, but unfortunately that's not an option. Quality of service: 3.5 stars. Quality of food: 3.5 stars. Consistency and nostalgia: 5 stars. I've dined in at this location several times, and also ordered pizzas to go. The food has always been served hot and fresh. The best breadsticks in central Indiana. My favorite is the salad bar. It is always kept full of fresh ingredients and very clean. Today I brought a couple of friends with me for dinner. It was their first time here, and they really enjoyed the salad bar. Besides salad bar we ordered a large margarita pizza. The crust was light and crisp, and the toppings were plentiful. They didn't skimp on the cheese, either. The booths are large, solid, and comfortable. We could easily view several TVs from our booth so that we could watch the NFL playoffs. Service was very friendly and helpful. read more

Gotta say almost 60$ for a pizza two salad bars, 6 sticks and two drinks is a bit much. The pizza was so so, absolutely not a 25$ pizza. Sticks were over baked but tasted fine. The salad bar was good and it had more than enough choices. Restaurant looked clean and the salad bar was clean and everything was cold , as it should be. It was fast... Tall ipa was $10. Pizza individual Sicilian pepperoni. The crust was so thick that the edges got done but the cheese wasn't even melted in the middle, I imagine if you got a large it would be raw in the middle. The sauce is on top but not spread, just like a spoonful in the middle of each piece - kinda weird. Also the hot sauce comes in a squeeze tube like ketchup would. 1 squeeze and it went all over the place. Like I just want a Frank's dropper bottle. The breadsticks were by far the worst breadsticks I've ever had. Just plain dough baked. No garlic no butter no salt. No flavor. The food is cheap, the beer is not, the service was really fast. I went in with a New friend at the recommendation of my BFF. We got breadsticks and a fairly loaded pizza. Sorry I didn't take pics I was not only hungry but I didn't want to be that guy taking pics even though I normally am. The breadsticks were buttery and oh so soft. I mean like melt it you mouth yummy. The pizza was made with the same dough and the toppings were all very fresh. This pizza was literally a 10 out of 10. The staff was super helpful and took amazing care of us and the place was super clean alone had root beer on tap and orange cream soda on tap as well. I didn't notice till after I sat down or I would have made a half and half. Oh that would have been good. I will be back even if I have to go out of my way to eat here I will. Thank you to the staff for an amazing dinner and to my BFF for telling me stories of high school and eating here on Friday nights. I hope next time I come she can join me. read more

Good food was not in the cards for us in Indiana. The staff was nice and they made recommendations . Thir food just isn't very good . Breadsticks were dry with cold marinara. Our salad was cold , which I liked, however it was just a salad with store bought dressings. They use a conveyer to cook the pizza so im not sure how the personal pizz crust was sof and flimsy when I order thin. My Alfredo the chicken had some good flavors, the margarita pizza tasted odd. We dined in for the first time & ordered bread sticks & the Greek pizza and both were really lacking.. the breadsticks didn't really have any seasoning at all to them and our pizza could have been cooked for another 10 minutes at least. It wasn't even very hot when it got to our table.. the cheese wasn't really melted. It was a bummer for what we spent on it. I've noticed our carry out pizzas have also been under cooked. It's easy to forget that while Noble Roman's is, in fact, a "chain" it's actually ours. That's right, it's based right here in Indianapolis with a headquarters that actually isn't far from my home. For most folks in Indiana, there's a sense of nostalgia with Noble Roman's. It's a chain that existed abundantly while I was growing up and I loved those times when my parents would splurge and let us go to Noble Roman's instead of other chains that were cheaper but lower in quality. I'm not sure what happened, but it seemed like Noble Roman's sort of died out for a while and before long you simply couldn't find it very many places. I'm not sure the chain ever completely closed, but its presence on the Central Indiana pizza landscape was severely reduced. Then, it started coming back again. Now, it's found even bigger life leaning into its somewhat more premium pizza experience roots with Noble Roman's Craft Pizza and Pub - it's really sort of a celebration of the fact that Noble Roman's serves up a better pizza at a fair price. The pub aspect is a nice edition for those rare times when I find myself wanting a brew. Noble Roman's is also one of the few dine-in chains that truly has some decent, affordable options for solo diners. One of the reasons I don't eat pizza more often is simply that it's hard to find a high quality option for the diner who is alone (as I usually am). When I go to Noble Roman's, I nearly always get the same thing - an individual-sized deep dish sausage pizza, an order of garlic bread, and my beloved iced tea. While most people go for breadsticks, I'm a garlic bread freak and I really love it at Noble Roman's. This was my first time at the Carmel location. It's right on Main Street in a strip center right next to Wild Eggs. I think it's a relatively new strip center and accessible parking and curb cuts are appropriate. Most Noble Roman's locations have you enter on the right, but this is a left-side entrance and right-side exit. They continue to suggest masks and employees were wearing (or starting to wear - I arrived shortly after open and some were still setting up). Embarrassingly, I'd forgotten mine but it was light enough in terms of traffic that I felt fine. You order at the counter - they give you a number and bring it to you. Drinks are fountain and self-serve. Like all Noble Roman's locations, they have a groovy root beer situation. I was impressed that the person at the front told me about a special that allowed me to save some cash. I had no idea and would have easily paid the full-price. I appreciated the honesty and integrity. As is typically the case, the garlic bread came out first. It was delightful. I appreciated that they brought out some marinara for dipping. That was one thing with this location - they had the little "extra" touches that made the experience even more special. The atmosphere is comfortable. You can watch pizza being made. There's also a bar and lots of big-screens for watching sports. The pizza itself was as good as it always is as evidenced by the previously clean shirt that looked like I must've enjoyed my meal. It was cooked just right with crispy edges, generous but not overwhelming toppings, and a nice sauce-to-topping ratio. The tables were spaced nicely. It feels intimate, though it also feels like there's attention to social distancing. I also appreciated being greeted as I was leaving. This was just a really nice experience. The food was delicious, the prices are fair, and the employees were top-notch. I'll easily return when I'm in the area. There's actually not yet a Noble Roman's location real close to my home and I tend to bounce between Fishers and McCordsville. I will no doubt add Carmel to the mix. On a long Labor Day weekend, this nostalgic return to an Indiana favorite was just what I needed. read more

Highly recommend, especially for families with kids. The staff was inviting and accommodating; we had a mix-up with our order and they were quick to correct it and did so with grace. My kids loved the experience and didn't want to leave. We loved the pizza "sliders" for the kids, and appreciate that breadsticks were ready right away. The deep dish is also amazing. My dad orders Noble Roman's almost every Sunday. It's one of the highlights of his week and it's become a family joke, with the men in our house ordering deep dish pepperoni pizza from Noble Roman's and the women ordering a thin crust, more artisanal pizza from another spot. However, the dynamics changed this weekend and the girls moved to team deep dish. It's truly so delicious, with a slightly crispy crust, doughy depth and a good proportion of cheese and sauce. If we ever come here, we go solely for that specific pizza. This isn't so much a spot I come for other dishes, but you don't need other dishes because.... DEEP DISH PEPPERONI. The interior is nice, with a big glass window where you can watch them make pizzas and dough. They also have a fun soda and craft beer station and a good amount of space for big groups to dine in. The staff have always had our pizzas ready to go when we stop by for pick up. read more

I've been here about a half dozen times now for lunch. I find myself getting either a deep dish pizza lunch special or some sort of a toasted sandwich for lunch. My favorite though is the personal deep dish lunch special. It's located in a strip mall with other businesses and a Starbucks, so there is plenty of free parking available. read more

This place had a great ambiance. A great place for groups. The staff is friendly and very helpful when indecisive. I wish I could say the pizza was on par with their service. Also, as you can see in the picture below there us hardly any cheese on the pizza. The crust is flimsy & doughy. Ordered 4 cheese and I mean cmon.. all of these were just thrown into the sack and melted through. Horrible experience. This place doesn't deserve to have the Noble Roman's name!! read more

Ordered from DoorDash and not pleased. Why don't you at least tape the box closed? Our box was dropped off open. No bag, no tape, no sense of being clean and keeping stuff out of my pizza. This isn't a DoorDash issue, Noble Romans didn't secure the box at all. Our pizza was cold and crust wasn't crunchy. We had issues, at this location, the last time we ate there; it was filthy. I'm a fan of Noble Roman's restaurants. This chain has won me over, I have to admit. So I was happy to see that there is one now in Carmel! Our visit was awesome. Good service, good food, good beer. We ordered breadsticks (with nacho cheese) and a large pepperoni pizza. The food was hot and appropriately greasy, chewy and crunchy. I'm not usually a fan of breadsticks at other pizza joints, but there's something about Noble Roman's breadsticks that make me want to eat the whole basket. We got the thin crust pizza, which is our usual. I know everyone says to order deep dish when you're at Noble Roman's, but I think thin crust is just as good, if not better. If you're debating what to order, go thin -- you won't regret it. They have many local Indiana beers here, including Sun King, which is what I got. But this employee was impressive. Customer service was over the top great, super kind, very responsive and was seemingly running the show solo! Noble Roman's, to me, will always be my summer camp pizza. The kiosk, nestled inside Indianapolis' Exchange City, had its own mystique: it was somewhat contraband, forbidden, and, at the time, delicious. Also, as an 8-year-old, my tastebuds were the opposite of discerning or evolved. It's almost two decades later and frankly, I was shocked Noble Roman's was still around. After all, it's not a fast food darling like the big Midwestern four (the Papa, the Hut, Domino's, and Donato's (I guess)). Somehow, it survived, partially because independent Noble Roman's serves alcohol and when you're overworked, need to study, or smashed, lackluster pizza is pretty damn awesome. Which brings me to my experience. I definitely had no alcohol, and maybe that's the mistake I made: I went with my mom, a non-pizza-fanatic, and tried to order things that were, in my mind, no-brainers. Imagine my shock when they were all equally disappointing! Now, I didn't get deep-dish pizza and maybe the breadsticks would've slapped. I also was pretty tired and forgot about the spicy cheese sauce (one of my favorite condiments). That being said, Indy's evolved and my pizza stomach deserves better. If I want a bite of nostalgia? So I was really excited to eat some noble romans and ordered it through grub hub. First off it was super quick and easy to order which was great. Not so great was the pizza that I was sooo excited to eat subdue it'd been years since I had noble romans. The pizza sauce was good the deep dish medium cheese pizza was perfect for two people but the pizza was super burnt and like no cheese for a cheese pizza. It looked really sloppy and had I been in store I definitely would have said something. The breadsticks were okay the cheese sauce was good and spicy. So not super expensive for our order but def not the quality I was expecting. May go back in the store and order but not on my radar in the near future. read more

We come here for a quick school-night dinner sometimes. I'm always getting their coupons which keeps them top-of-mind. And truly, a large 2-topping pizza (we get the deep dish), half doz breadsticks with choice of sauce, and 2 salads is a decent deal if you need to basically fill your stomachs. It's very a casual experience whereby one orders at the counter and gets one's own drinks at the fountain. Someone from the kitchen brings the food to the table as it's ready. The quality is not stupendous. The deep dish is a rectangle pizza cut into 12 squares. The edges are crispy, which I like better than the edge in most thin- or medium-crust pizzas. But their idea of toppings is what I would call a sprinkle. We ordered chorizo and bell pepper, and I'd estimate we got less than 1/8 cup of meat of the whole pizza. Ditto for the veggie. Sauce here isn't a base layer but rather a quick squirt on top. It's weird. But you get what you pay for. read more

I like pizza, and there are a lot of pizza choices in the Indy area. I was excited to try Noble Roman's refreshed craft pizza concept, but for me, it fell short. First, I thought it was similar to Boombozz aka a sit down restaurant with wait staff. While there is a bar inside, this is order at the counter like Piada, Chipotle, etc. which I think cheapens the experience. My group ordered, and it took 20+ minutes to get our food. We were one of the few tables of guests. Not to mention, mine took an extra 10 minutes because they dropped mine in the back. Once the pizza finally arrived, it didn't wow me. It was good, but I wouldn't seek it out. read more
