I love the sushi so much but I'm worried with the expansion they may be losing the original plot. The sushi is always super fresh & amazing but I fear that isn't all it takes to receive 5 stars for a business. I recently scheduled a pick up order on door dash to be picked up at 6:05pm (the time was very clearly shown on the app) and when I went at 6pm, an employee said my order was scheduled for 7:30pm and that they couldn't make it sooner so I should cancel the order or wait. (I showed her the time stamps & receipt on my app & she brushed me off lol) I watched this same employee tell other people that they would have to wait over an hour for their carry out orders. I ended up leaving & coming back at 6:50pm prior to walking over to trivia next door. Another employee helped me & my order was ready to go on their shelf. Nobody called me & I received no updates via the DoorDash app. (It just kept saying my order was ready at 6:05pm & it definitely wasn't). I am glad I decided to not cancel my order but it seems like they obviously have some kinks to work out w/ service regarding their increasing popularity. They should not be taking scheduled door dash orders if they can't complete them in time & should maybe prioritize accommodating their in person customers first. Visited Noble Village today for the first time. I tried the spicy tuna and Philadelphia rolls. They were fantastic, i especially liked the spicy tuna roll. The price was good and they came out fast. Got pleasantly surprised by the selection of food they have, the coffee shop, and a small cute section that has decent amount of Japanese grocery items. The items are priced slightly expensive compared to other Asian stores that sell the same stuff. Would love to be back again to dine at the Sushi Bar. I was in Troy for 1 night for a work conference, and wanted a casual takeout spot. This place was perfect because there's also an Asian market to walk around! There's a very small produce section, frozen section, snack aisle, noodles, seasonings...a good amount of variety for a small store! There's an Asian coffee/bakery stand, where I got a purple yam cream cake - it was very good but a little pricier than I expected (I think $6.50ish). From the Noble Fish stand, there's a few tables and an iPad to order takeout. I got the chirashi bowl, which is fairly priced at $18, the spicy tuna crunch roll, which had a great amount of tuna in it, and the yellowtail + onion roll. Been here many times and each time it's a hit. My kids love this place. We've gotten take out and dined in many, many times as it's our go to sushi place. The staff are friendly and food is prepared in an efficient manner that we don't have crying kids complaining they are hungry. We love the Michigan roll, and the tuna or salmon rolls with jalapeño. Miso soup is flavorful has seaweed in it and tofu, which the kids like. Another hit is the seaweed salad. I always like the spicy tuna hand roll, which has nice chunks of fish in it. Nothing has the chopped up fish, cream cheese, or imitation crab that proliferates other sushi restaurants. Here it's pure and simple with bright, fresh flavors. They take their craft seriously and it shows in the simplicity of their dishes. The kids like to pick out a special treat from the market attached as their dessert. We like the different drink choices and of course noshing on what the kids picked. I ordered takeout, and ended up getting the nigiri combo, which was a great deal imo. I also added on a single piece of the salmon nigiri. Ordered three rolls and a chicken katsu curry. The sushi was good proportion in terms of raw fish and rice as people here mention. The curry, however, was just average. The curry itself seemed like it was made from a package and was a little dry or hardened on the surface. The breading was a bit over fried and burnt. The chicken was not moist. The sushi rolls were nice, and the fish tasted fresh. We got salmon, tuna, and assortment, which I think was called a rainbow row. Overall, it was not a bad meal, and staff were fair in terms of demeanor, but the service could have been better. It was a busy place during lunchtime and nearly all the tables were taken. Like many, I've been coming here for years, back when this place was a tiny hole in the wall, and I've always been proud to see how much it's grown and expanded. Unfortunately, I've noticed some recent issues that never used to happen. Over the past few months, the to-go fridge has been consistently sparse. I understand that mid-day or peak hours can lead to lower stock, but tonight was genuinely shocking. The main fridge with prepared rolls was completely empty, and the smaller fridge that normally carries sashimi-grade salmon, tuna, masago, etc. was also totally bare. Mind you, this was at 5:00pm, before any dinner rush. When I asked about it, I was told that their fish supplier is "out of town on vacation," and when I asked when things would return to normal, the answer was essentially "I'm not sure... he'll be gone for a while." I was also told they don't currently have enough staff to prepare sushi and fish for the to-go area. What's confusing is that I was then told I could still order sushi from the bar - which raises the question: how can sushi be available for orders, but not for the market side of the business? This has always been both a restaurant and a sushi market, and that balance seems to be missing right now. I truly want to continue supporting this place, but the lack of availability and unclear answers are disappointing, especially given how consistent and reliable it used to be. read more

The place was decorated with lots of colorful noren to separate spaces. Green tea was free and served hot in tiny cups. Servers brought you sushi on traditional wooden sushi trays, and you ate off of glazed rectangular ceramic dishes. It felt like you had teleported to a traditional sushi bar in Japan.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Today, since the recent renovations, all of that is gone. You order from an electronic kiosk, and there are no tables. You pick up your order in a plastic box from a fast food counter, even when ordering "for here". They do not serve hot green tea at all, drinks are bottled. There is nearly zero human interaction. No decoration at all--no noren, or any other traditional Japanese ambience. It feels like a cold, empty, soulless hipster food court in a warehouse district.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Is the sushi still the best in Metro Detroit? Yes. Is it still affordable? Yes. I'm sharing this after going through a lot of stress following a situation a month ago when I ordered takeout here (Salmon Special Roll). This used to be a favorite sushi spot near metro Detroit. Upon finishing my plate of sushi, I was horrified to see what appeared to be worms (possibly anisakis species) on the plate. Pictures are attached below. I can't attach the video here unfortunately. They have tapered edges that does not look like the kani that Noble Fish claims. Additionally, they did move more at first, and moved more sluggishly as time went on (when the video was taken). FOOD SHOULD NOT BE MOVING AT ALL!! What is shocking is how Noble Fish chose to deal with this situation. They were initially very apologetic and promised to collect samples of the potential worms to send them into a laboratory for analysis. However, as time passed, they grew increasingly more dismissive and proceeded to try harder to sweep everything under the rug. They did not go through with the laboratory analysis and instead simply sent "certification forms" from their supplier rather than test the samples. They only gave proof of the source of their fish rather than the results from the samples they collected from me. The corporate de-escalation is very inconsiderate. The "forms/letters" are even dated from BEFORE the incident which means no response to what happened was given. My friend had previously posted this review on my behalf (clarifying third person perspective), but this was taken down from yelp after being reported. This is an insane lack of accountability and also a terrible food quality/safety issue. Had they properly followed through with investigations, perhaps the whole situation would have felt more assuring. Please keep in mind the negative reviews about food quality when eating here, and dine cautiously. read more

Definitely on the casual side. I don't know how they source their fish or from where but it's delicious and very fresh. They also have specialty items that are hard to find in SE Michigan, like toro or uni. I will ALWAYS order toro here. Whether in nigiri, hand roll, or maki form. It's all fabulous! read more
