Loaded nachos with extra side of crab meat on top
Toni L.

Found this place through social media, and let me tell you.... THIS PLACE IS BUSSSSSSIN! I got the loaded nachos with extra side of crab meat on top with a mix of the voodoo cheese and regular nacho cheese & pineapple dole whip. Absolutely worth the wait, I will be back. 1000/10

This place has me in a chokehold. I had never had water ice until I tried this place. It's so good. It's like sorbet, italian ice and sherbet all had a baby. Lol. My favorite combo for now is mango and peach. Now let's talk about the nachos! I love nachos. Their seafood nachos with crabmeat added on top is a meal in itself. They are not shy about toppings. The seafood is also very seasoned so I opt to do regular cheese instead of voodoo cheese. The crawfish pies are also really good. I'm picky about crawfish pies and this one is perfect. Order 2 when you go to serve as one for now and one for later. You'll thank me later. They're so good that they usually sell out of these fast. The staff is always very nice. Service itself is at a good pace considering the quality of the food you're getting. I've never felt like I've waited too long to get my order. They have a private lot so parking is never of concern. They also have a texting service which lets you know when your food is ready so you can wait in the car. So one may ask how good is this place? I'll just say that I went 2 days in one week. It has produced a craving.

Signature Crawfish Pie

10s across the board!!!! Everything was so good and fresh. The crawfish pie is worth the hype. The crust was sooooo buttery, soft and flaky. It had a great amount of crawfish in it & cheese, to the point the cheese wasn't overwhelming but you know it was there. I would get several of these because they were that good! The nachos were good too, the crawfish was nicely seasoned & they not stingy with it. I got the spicy cheese on mine. I'll definitely be back to try the water ice. It's crazy how many times i've passed this place up unknowingly. I would definitely suggest them to get a bigger sign, b/c it's kind of easy to pass up if you aren't paying attention. The parking to me is great & can fit a decent amount of vehicles. Lastly, I want to point out that the staff is nice and informative.

In a city that runs on snowballs, I have to say that I really enjoy having another option for a cool, sweet treat. NOLA Shrimp Box is one of only a few spots in the city that has water ice (basically Italian ice, but I won't say they're the same because I don't want to offend any Philly natives that may read this, lol) and it is crazy good. They have a huge list of flavors and you're able to mix and match them to your liking. Some flavors are considered premium and cost a little extra, like Jolly Rancher, which was delicious and tasted so similar to the actual candy that I'd say they're worth the splurge. This spot also serves some incredibly tasty bites, many incorporating shrimp and other seafood, hence the name. One of their most popular dishes is the gourmet nachos with shrimp and crab. There's also crawfish hot dogs, boudin links, crawfish pies, and more. It's important to note that everything is made fresh daily or made to order, so they have limited quantities of certain items and it may take about 15-20 minutes for other items depending on how long the line is. I also think they take phone/pre-orders so even if the physical line isn't long, there may be a longer than expected wait as they prepare and package to-go orders. We waited about 10 minutes for our water ice and an additional 5-10 for nachos and a boudin link when I went. However, it was a surprisingly breezy day, they had a few picnic tables with umbrellas, and were playing good music so it was all good. The staff members were kind and patient as we ordered and answered our questions about the menu as it was our first time going. They operate out of an old snowball stand, so they aren't working with lots of kitchen space and it seems to be a relatively small team, so please keep all these things in mind if you go. I'd recommend calling ahead or checking their Instagram before heading over to see a close to real time update on their menu. They also sometimes will close early if they sell out of all of their product. I had my eye on NOLA Shrimp Box for years so I'm really excited that I got to finally try them. I will definitely be back and will try to go early so that I can try some of their signature dishes!

Got their nachos and their nacho cheese is not typical nacho cheese! It has a Cajun twist and a kick. Their food is made to order. I also got the crawfish pie and shared it with my SO. I'm really sad I shared it because I really wanted it for myself. The crawfish pie does take 16 mins but totally worth it! Ended with the Italian ice that's really smooth. I had watermelon and strawberry kiwi. The strawberry kiwi is a little better in my opinion. Can't wait to come back to try more things.

I am so happy that I stumbled across this gem. Walking up I knew exactly what I wanted to order which were the crawfish nachos. I've been wanting crawfish nachos for so long but never wanted to drive to Gentilly to get them (so happy for a westbank location). My friend and I ended up ordering crawfish nachos, shrimp nachos, and frozen ice. Let me just say that the shrimp and crawfish was so well seasoned!! It was spicy and so flavorful. The shrimp were my favorite because the cheese sauce was homemade! The portion sizes were large for $8, so you def get your money worth. The frozen ice was very good also. Overall I give it 5 stars and will certainly be visiting again.

Be careful you aren't going to fast or you will pass it up! I'm so glad we found this little gem. Where do I start? The the lady who took our order was so nice and patient with us and walked us through any questions we had being that it was our first visit. My son ordered regular nachos (not pictured because he ate them so fast) by husband ordered the crawfish nachos which he also ate in the car on the way home and I crawfish pies with flavored ice (not to be mistaken for a snowball) There's a special going on right now spend $20 get a free 1/2 platter of crawfish and unknowingly that's exactly what we did. The crawfish pies were very good and are baked fresh while you wait but the best part of this treat for me was the actual crawfish. I wish they sold it by there pound instead of platters because I haven't had crawfish that well seasoned in a long time and they were a good size. We came from uptown on the Eastbank to come try it and they did not disappoint. We are definitely going back. Do yourself a favor and go there now!

Well 4 out of every 5 said, Old Style Hot Tamales. I called them because I was needing quite a few for an event coming up in a few days. I spoke with the youngest of the children of the Buwes, who built this dynasty. I told Don Buwe about the feed back from my inquiry and told him what I needed, and when I would need them. Don Buwe said let me check, I'll call you back with availability, Hence , I placed my order. It arrived a couple Of days later as I requested, I tasted the product and I can honestly say, " these are the best Hot Tamales I have ever eaten". They were the right size, the right amount of spice, the right amount of meat, and the flour/Mesa was unlike any I've ever tasted. There was a buttery taste, and the gravy was a beautiful brownish red, nat'ually Nu' Awlins y'all, just the right weight for the tamales to soak in, uh huh. Oooh mah gawd,! I think my mouth turned into a tamale conveyor belt! The matriarch and the late patriarch of this company needs to be given the congressional Metal for their Hot Tamale Product. Every event I have in the future will be an Old Style Hot Tamale theme. Dat's right, it's my pawdy and I'll serve Old Style Hot Tamales if I want to. The Buwes have several stands, the website has the locations. You can call and place orders for pick up fresh out of the pot. The Buwes tamales under the same name Old Style Hot Tamales are sold in our local markets. All calls are turned in ample time. If you have a big order call and see if you can be accommodated. This is a family that goes back many decades with a nat'ually nu'awlins product. I met Don and his mother and I was totally delighted. They feel the heartbeat of Louisiana in every way. They have made big changes having the tamale stands accessible for every one since Covid-19. Let's keep these Old Style Hot Tamales thriving, they are uhmmmmm uhmmmmmm good y'all. This is "MO" checking out, be mindful, prayerful and tamale y'all! I will follow up with pics this week.

The menu had Jerk chicken, curry chicken, and brown stew chicken. I wish they would have listed the sides on the menu as well, so it wouldn't leave potential customers wondering what comes with the chicken. I planned to get the jerk chicken and my mom was going to get the brown stew chicken. My mother and I aren't eating rice right now, so we asked if we could get a plate without rice and peas and just double the veggies/ greens. He said he did not have enough veggies to do it for two plates. I said okay well if we get one plate can you do it on that one and he said ok. So instead of purchasing two plates we just purchased one jerk chicken plate. The chicken was good and the greens were flavorful. I wish there could've been another veggie offered like cabbage so I could've had cabbage and then greens, but overall I enjoyed the food. Only other tip besides adding the sides to the menu, is that I think they would've benefited from having another staff member. It was only one guy plating the food and taking the money/ orders. There was someone else who would come to refill the food but they didn't help serve.

It's a one stop shop for your taste buds to travel Latin America- no passport or cash needed. They had food vendors from Mexico all the way to the Dominican Republic. We tried shakes from Honduras- we picked strawberry and guyabano. Both flavors were delicious and cooled us down. Next we got carne asada arepas from Colombia, the meat was seasoned so well and it was oozing with cheese. We played it safe and got tacos from the Mexican spot. They were delicious! The tortillas were freshly pressed and the meat was loaded. They also give you a red salsa and green. I wish we would've left room for dessert because there were some good looking dessert options. I will definitely be back! If you do stop by, bring your appetite and athleisure wear (it's hot and you will leave with a full belly).

The food court offered mostly Latin/South American options. I really wanted some french fries but could not find any.
