Loaded nachos with extra side of crab meat on top
    Toni L.

Found this place through social media, and let me tell you.... THIS PLACE IS BUSSSSSSIN! I got the loaded nachos with extra side of crab meat on top with a mix of the voodoo cheese and regular nacho cheese & pineapple dole whip. Absolutely worth the wait, I will be back. 1000/10

    Signature Crawfish Pie

10s across the board!!!! Everything was so good and fresh. The crawfish pie is worth the hype. The crust was sooooo buttery, soft and flaky. It had a great amount of crawfish in it & cheese, to the point the cheese wasn't overwhelming but you know it was there. I would get several of these because they were that good! The nachos were good too, the crawfish was nicely seasoned & they not stingy with it. I got the spicy cheese on mine. I'll definitely be back to try the water ice. It's crazy how many times i've passed this place up unknowingly. I would definitely suggest them to get a bigger sign, b/c it's kind of easy to pass up if you aren't paying attention. The parking to me is great & can fit a decent amount of vehicles. Lastly, I want to point out that the staff is nice and informative.

In a city that runs on snowballs, I have to say that I really enjoy having another option for a cool, sweet treat. NOLA Shrimp Box is one of only a few spots in the city that has water ice (basically Italian ice, but I won't say they're the same because I don't want to offend any Philly natives that may read this, lol) and it is crazy good. They have a huge list of flavors and you're able to mix and match them to your liking. Some flavors are considered premium and cost a little extra, like Jolly Rancher, which was delicious and tasted so similar to the actual candy that I'd say they're worth the splurge. This spot also serves some incredibly tasty bites, many incorporating shrimp and other seafood, hence the name. One of their most popular dishes is the gourmet nachos with shrimp and crab. There's also crawfish hot dogs, boudin links, crawfish pies, and more. It's important to note that everything is made fresh daily or made to order, so they have limited quantities of certain items and it may take about 15-20 minutes for other items depending on how long the line is. I also think they take phone/pre-orders so even if the physical line isn't long, there may be a longer than expected wait as they prepare and package to-go orders. We waited about 10 minutes for our water ice and an additional 5-10 for nachos and a boudin link when I went. However, it was a surprisingly breezy day, they had a few picnic tables with umbrellas, and were playing good music so it was all good. The staff members were kind and patient as we ordered and answered our questions about the menu as it was our first time going. They operate out of an old snowball stand, so they aren't working with lots of kitchen space and it seems to be a relatively small team, so please keep all these things in mind if you go. I'd recommend calling ahead or checking their Instagram before heading over to see a close to real time update on their menu. They also sometimes will close early if they sell out of all of their product. I had my eye on NOLA Shrimp Box for years so I'm really excited that I got to finally try them. I will definitely be back and will try to go early so that I can try some of their signature dishes!

Got their nachos and their nacho cheese is not typical nacho cheese! It has a Cajun twist and a kick. Their food is made to order. I also got the crawfish pie and shared it with my SO. I'm really sad I shared it because I really wanted it for myself. The crawfish pie does take 16 mins but totally worth it! Ended with the Italian ice that's really smooth. I had watermelon and strawberry kiwi. The strawberry kiwi is a little better in my opinion. Can't wait to come back to try more things.

I am so happy that I stumbled across this gem. Walking up I knew exactly what I wanted to order which were the crawfish nachos. I've been wanting crawfish nachos for so long but never wanted to drive to Gentilly to get them (so happy for a westbank location). My friend and I ended up ordering crawfish nachos, shrimp nachos, and frozen ice. Let me just say that the shrimp and crawfish was so well seasoned!! It was spicy and so flavorful. The shrimp were my favorite because the cheese sauce was homemade! The portion sizes were large for $8, so you def get your money worth. The frozen ice was very good also. Overall I give it 5 stars and will certainly be visiting again.

Be careful you aren't going to fast or you will pass it up! I'm so glad we found this little gem. Where do I start? The the lady who took our order was so nice and patient with us and walked us through any questions we had being that it was our first visit. My son ordered regular nachos (not pictured because he ate them so fast) by husband ordered the crawfish nachos which he also ate in the car on the way home and I crawfish pies with flavored ice (not to be mistaken for a snowball) There's a special going on right now spend $20 get a free 1/2 platter of crawfish and unknowingly that's exactly what we did. The crawfish pies were very good and are baked fresh while you wait but the best part of this treat for me was the actual crawfish. I wish they sold it by there pound instead of platters because I haven't had crawfish that well seasoned in a long time and they were a good size. We came from uptown on the Eastbank to come try it and they did not disappoint. We are definitely going back. Do yourself a favor and go there now!

I settled on popcorn caramel and baklava in a waffle bowl. An employee said that everything was made in-house. The price was standard considering that all was made there. The service was weird. I kept getting served after people who'd gotten there after me. My ice cream scoops were significantly smaller than my boyfriend's. This unassuming spot in a strip mall was gorgeous inside. And it serves coffee, pastries, ice cream plus y'know candy. AND they roast their own nuts, spices and I guess coffee beans. There were definitely folks hanging out and enjoying a Turkish style coffee... I guess either the caffeine doesn't hit them the way it does me or they had no plans to sleep. The candy isn't labeled 100% correctly but you kind of know that gummy worms are not gummy strawberries. I tried an assortment bag of gummies and some of chocolates and the price was by the pound. Re got some freshly roasted unsalted cashews and they were delicious! Parking is easy in the strip mall lot. And as you step in you definitely leave Louisiana and step into another country.

We ended up at the Metairie location, which ended up being very convenient since there is substantial parking right out front, which is rare in N.O. It's in a modern shopping center but still has that quaint feel of the original location. The staff immediately greeted us when we came through the door and were very attentive and knowledgeable. We were there just before the after school rush and timed everything perfectly. I was planning to get a different flavor this time, but I ended up with my old standby, Red Velvet. This stuff is so good it's illegal in 49 states. It's subtle and perfectly understated by the chunks of cake mixed throughout. It's what keeps me coming back. My wife got a scoop each of the Peanut Butter Cup and the Cookie Monster. Both were absolutely delicious, as I can personally attest since I stole a bite of both. All in all, I can't wait to go back. It was every bit as good as I remembered. Do yourself a favor and check them out.

My family and I had just experienced a not so enjoyable dinner "up the road" in Belle Chasse and were feeling a little melancholy. Instead of turning around and heading back to New Orleans, we decided to drive south on Hwy. 23 for a ways. Like a beacon in a storm, we saw the sign for Dairy Dip and I knew that ice cream would have us all feeling better. This place has been a Belle Chasse staple for 50-60 years, and it screams nostalgia. And everyone who knows me knows I love nostalgic businesses. Although it doesn't appear spectacular from the outside, I hear the food they serve is top notch. This little roadside gem serves all kinds of classic foods like burgers, hot dogs, corn dogs, po-boys, nachos, malts, shakes, ice cream, sno-balls etc. It's all walk up counter service here where you pay and "eat outside, or in your car (if the times you are in are unprecedented)." (This last sentence borrowed from Yelper Marielle S.) As we had already eaten, we got dessert. I wish we hadn't eaten because I think we would have enjoyed Dairy Dip more than the restaurant we had just patronized, but I digress. My son got a regular vanilla cone, I opted for the classic dipped cone and my wife got the dipped cone with peanuts. The ice cream here is delicious and served at the perfect consistency and temperature. Simply stated, it was delicious. Next time, we're going to order burgers and onion rings and make it a meal. Of course we are going to leave room for dessert.
