Pretty good dinner last night with coworkers. I showed up a bit late, so there were already lots of appetizers on the table when our group got there. Nachos were flavorful. Chicken wings weren't the best. A few of the other things that I didn't quite recognize were fine. I had a pork chop that was huge and pretty good. Maybe a bit dry. The yucca fries with corn were pretty good too. Others had my table had the birria tacos and a vegetarian dish. Loved my recent visit to Nom, especially since it had been way too long. Their outdoor patio space is such a hidden gem if you have kids. There is plenty of carpeted space to run around, and if you eat at an off time you can almost have the whole place to yourself. They don't have a formal kids menu but can make smaller versions of kid friendly entrees like tacos, quesadillas and rice bowls. Portions are huge and I loved my mole chicken which came in the most delicious sauce. The rice was very undercooked though, so that was disappointing. The best part of Nom is their queso (seriously, order it) and the crispy and oily fried tortillas on the side are perfection. Watermelon margs were also divine. Street Corn "Ribs" - I have had this style of street corn before but it didn't have the cob attached. It wasn't a pleasant experience eating it. Flavor was good. Chorizo + Potato Croquettes - I was looking forward to this but it was ok. Lacked flavor. Baked Oysters Jalisco - I don't like oysters but I said I would try baked... we ordered like 4 of them and then they said they had no more haha. They were actually really good. Tuna Ceviche - this was good Queso Dip - I wish there was chorizo in this. It was a bit plain for me. Al Pastor Tacos - Tacos were also ok. I visited here again recently on a Wednesday at 4:30ish. My sister made a reservation although it wasn't needed. They had just opened at 4pm so I was seated right away. I didn't realize that they have "Happiest Hour" 4-5 and "Happy Hour" 5-6 so the prices go up. I didn't realize that until I got the bill because I failed to fully read the menu lol. Anywho, we ordered the traditional margaritas on tap with tajin. We started with the trio dip appetizer on the happy hour menu. The queso was my absolute favorite it was so good!! The guac was also good but the salsa we could've done without. I wasn't a fan of the salsa at all. For meals my sister ordered enchiladas and I had flautas. Reservations were at 5:30, seated, wait staff very pleasant, ordered drinks, before drinks came she was asking for our order, ordered appetizers, they came out very quickly and barely warm, ordered main course, came out before we were finished with our appetizers, it was now 5:45, food was not hot and not good. We spoke with our server and commented that we felt rushed, she apologized and sent the manager who was not apologetic, gave excuses, then offered to take our half eaten food back to the kitchen until we were ready. Been here a few times and have generally had the same opinion each time. Drinks are pretty on-point and done well, especially their margaritas. The food is mediocre and not worth the price. Unfortunately there isn't too much else in the way of Mexican around here, so it's fairly standard for the area. First of all, it's larger than you would expect and has both depth and width to it, which is good because I do not like tiny restaurants where all the tables are right next to each other. The waiters and other servers were very friendly and patient as my friend and I took a little while to decide what we wanted...whoops. Ultimately, I ordered a Jalapeño margarita, which was just the right amount of spicy and tasty. For dinner, I ordered the Sweet Corn Arepas, and boy were they sweet! My friends and I went to Morristown to go to a different restaurant for brunch, but once we saw Nom we changed our plans. The aesthetic is very classy and calm, the service was super friendly and accommodating. We started with margaritas, I got the NOM margarita which is the larger of the three in the photo, it was delicious and everyone was definitely jealous of the size! My friends ordered the cucumber habenero & the traditional. The cucumber habenero was so refreshing and tingled. The nachos were good, I was very happy with the topping to chip ratio, I've had more flavorful nachos in other places but these were still a solid pick. For my entree I ordered a steak bowl. The steak was so tender and tasted so fresh, the perfect amount of seasoning and the dressing and veggies all complimented the flavors in the bowl. My one friend got Huevos Rancheros, her eggs were cooked nicely but she didn't get all the sides she was expecting. The waitress quickly got her the sides once it was pointed out, but overall my friend was a little disappointed in her choice. Staff are fine, while our waiter was kind, before being seated in an empty restaurant (with a reservation) while checking in a waitress stopped our seating to discuss (quietly but in front of us) for about 50+ seconds if we should be seated in her section or another. It was odd. Once seated we were served chips. I had to ask for salsa. Seemed odd to have to ask for this. Again, I can't stress enough how nice our actual server was. The food ordered lacked any spices or flavor I maybe have come to expect having specifically find new Mexican restaurants and enjoying so many. My wife's vegetarian burrito was huge! I was excited for her. However this was due to a lot of dry flour tortilla over a strangely small unseasoned amount of vegetables. To be exact, "vegetable slaw." This included brussel sprouts, which added an off taste. The drinks were fine. We ordered two types of margaritas. Nothing mind blowing. Food Croquetas 0/10 taste like I was just eating the oil it was cooked in. Mole wings 0/10...can we even call that a wing? What was that lol. Corn ribs 8/10. Interesting concept. Juicy "tender" corn ribs. Shrimp tostones 8/10. Now these were delicious. Gauc complemented the flavorful shrimp on the plantain. Guacamole 9/10 fresh and made to order. Thank me later and add the jalapeños. Yuca Fríes 9/10 Didnt try any but my three amigos said it "slapped". Churros with hot chocolate dip 10/10. We were soooo full but just had to get these. That chocolate dip was great! Drinks Tequila Flight. 7/10 Three mini drinks for $20. Only one that had a slight kick was the traditional. But all were watery on first sip. Good food, good drinks, good bartender so I know it seems strange to give a bad review but everything else was a poor experience.

I wish I could give this like, a 3.75. The pros: the ambiance (love that they kept the orange bar from the George & Martha's days), the service (very friendly and attentive), the margaritas (I'm really not a tequila person but I had heard they were good here so I had to get one -- I'm glad I did! so yummy), the apps (the guacamole and tuna ceviche were great -- guac is on the limey-er side, FYI), and my entree (blue corn crunch wrap) was bigger than the menu picture online looked. The cons: unfortunately, the tortilla on my entree was so burnt that it was really all I could taste (a friend I was with got the same thing and had the same issue, so it wasn't just a fluke) -- it was really overpowering. Discarding the tortilla, the insides were good, not great. I was also surprised to see that even though we all ordered entrees, which were supposed to come with "a selection of sides to share" for the table, we got one very small dish of rice and beans and another very small dish of corn and something else. There were five of us at the table, so this was nowhere near enough to share. Why does a table of five get the same amount of/portions of sides as a table of one or two? TLDR; I'll go back, but probably just for a drinks & apps situation. Those things were good enough (in addition to the service) that I would return for them. read more

I would say NOM is a solid 3.5 stars, but in the case of generosity, I'll round up to 4 stars. Tucked slightly away from the downtown Morriston scene is where you'll find NOM. On a Monday night, my husband and I decided to visit after we were in the mood for Mexican food. We started with the shrimp tostones, which I thought were good. My husband, on the other thought they were just okay. For my entree, I had the Al Pastor tacos, which were a solid 4/5. They def hit the spot and were v rich in flavor! My husband had the Carne Asada, which he did not enjoy. His entree also came with rice, beans, and mashed potatoes, and I heard no complaints about the sides, lol. For dessert, we went with the churros, and I have to say I expected better, but they weren't horrible. Our waitress was great, attentive, and a joy to have! Heard so much @ Nom that we thought we'd try the restaurant. It's in the heart of Morristown. Plenty of paid parking at the back n side. It's the old George n Martha restaurant. Clean n nice restaurant w friendly staff. We started off w the yucca fries, shrimp tostone n spinach salad. Hmm Yucca fries was v good as it was topped w queso pineapple and salsa Roja. Shrimp tostones were yummy too w the guacamole and salsa verde. The spinach salad was different but delicious n spicy. We got the lobster enchilada, cod Veracruz n sweet corn arepas w shrimp. The lobster enchiladas though pricey had generous amount of lobster and was delicious. Sweet corn arrows tasted good n so did the god Veracruz. We finished our meal w the Nom flan and coconut n lime tres leche. The flan was a lil too sweet but the coconut n lime tres leche was v good. Generous meal portions. My only complaint is that the room in front where we sat got v hot. It was a hot day/ evening. Room was full. Told the waiter about it and he said the manager can only adjust the temp. We came for Sunday brunch with a party of 7, made same day reservations with no problems. -SO much potential but not quite there. Maybe understaffed? Kind of expensive and I appreciate the elevated mexican vibes they're going for but the menu items just didn't hit. -We were seated right away ...but had to wait so long before even putting our drink orders in. And again to order our food. And again to even get the check until my husband literally went up to the bar to pay. -They have an iPad with all the drinks (cocktails/beers/wines) and desserts. Would be nice if they added the food too cause there was a separate drinks sheet and a separate "brunch" list so not sure whats current or what. -They have a margarita flight which I think is cool but I think the flavors are set and you cant choose them yourself. I dont like spicy margs so I didnt get the flight. -We got the $90 TABLESIDE SANGRIA which serves 5-6 full glasses . At first the server said we couldn't get it cause theres only 1 bartender but she ended up coming through. She didn;t seem like she knew how to make it all too well and I wish she asked our sugar preferences before dumping the whole thing in. Also she served it in a dispenser instead of a pitcher which was annoying bc we only got the liquid that way and had to hand pick any of the fruits or ice. I get the dispenser is cute presentation but honestly it was too much work whereas a pitcher (how sangria usuallly comes) would have been better. Tasted good even though it was a lot of sugar lol. -LOADED YUCA FRIES: delicious.right amount of toppings, cooked perfectly. - MOLE GLAZED WINGS: I personally didn't like the mole sauce or the pepitas. Odd flavoring in my opinion. -TABLESIDE QUAC: nice experience to see them make it for you but nothing super special. Standard guac. I like that it was fresh but felt like it needed more lime. - BLUE CORN CRUNCH WRAP: overhyped. They didn't skimp on the amount of short rib though. -AL PASTOR TACOS: standard but again nothing special. The rice and beans it came with were solid tho. - My friend got the quesadilla but was complaining that the tortilla was too burnt. Not sure how the insides were though. -One thing that surprised me was that they didn't have any hot sauces at the table like mexican places usually do. Would have been nice but didnt want to wait again for them to bring it. Some positive thoughts: -They have a live DJ (I think from 12pm-4pm) playing sick EDM/house music which we really enjoyed. Probably the best part. -Also the decor is nice and the bar area looks nice if you just wanted to grab drinks. -I like that this spot isnt BYOB like a lot of other bruncheries in the area. Been here twice so far. Food and drinks are fairly good. I've had the spicy jalapeño margarita twice. The first time it was better, the second time it tasted like they used sour mix and the tanjin spice was over the top. The food was pretty good. I really enjoyed the loaded yuca fries, which were crispy but not overly oily. I ordered the huevos horneados, which came out like a Mexican shakshuka. I think the flavor was good but I'm not a shakshuka fan so I ordered the wrong thing. The steak and eggs were generously portioned and apparently quite good. The crunch wrap was loaded up with short ribs. They gave us rice and beans and a corn salsa with our dishes which were both delicious. The inside is done up really well and it's very modern, pretty, and trendy. Great for groups, but beware: they play the music really loudly. Would be hard to hear casual conversations. I did not dine in, but instead did take out. The person who took my order was super nice and kind. My order was made quickly and was pretty warm by the time I got home. First, I got birria tacos. I LOVE birria tacos. These were tasty, but didn't have the satisfying "umami" flavor that birria tacos usually have. They were missing something. The consome was bland. More like a plain beef stock over a flavorful consome. The tacos also didn't have that signature brown/red color they get from frying on the grill - the tacos were pretty pale in color. The guac and chips were so boring. The chips I get from Chipotle or Qudoba are better. The chips taste like cardboard and the guac did not have a balanced flavor. Something was very overpowering - I couldn't tell which exact ingredient it was. Then the tacos came with a side of "mash" - a potato and yucca blend with corn. I took one bite and didn't want any more. Super heavy and flavorless. I would say I would want to come back for the environment of the restaurant, but the food is too much of a disappointment. read more

All I can say is WOW! My gf and like to dine out before attending shows at the MAYOPAC and this was our second time dining at Nom. We started off with the Queso, and it was amazing. Fleshly made flour tortillas on the side was a unique touch, but the star was the queso itself. I can be a queso snob, so I don't say that lightly. The tables with the benches are kinda close together but other seating sections are different. We came early on a Friday night so we were able to enjoy the place before it got crowded, it sure got busy later in the evening though. We ordered the margaritas. I got the coco and lime, I love coconut so it was refreshing and not too strong. The cocktail had shredded coconut on top which was delicious. We started off with the chips con queso. Definitely gave a lot of queso, not a lot of chips at first but our waiter (who was very nice) gave us more chips to go along with the queso! I ordered the Al pastor tacos with mojo pork --- highly recommend. The mojo pork is full of flavor! The tacos were packed so I only finished 2/3 of the tacos. The side we got was the mashed and corn --- recommend this hands down, better than the rice and beans. We ended our meal with getting the churros too. I loved that the churros with cut like fries - there was plenty and left us stuffed by the time we finished. Small menu, small tap list and an enormous selection of tequila plus a few mezcals in a large restaurant with a great bar. Nom is not serving tex-mex nor state-of-New-Mexico cuisine, there's no chips & salsa and no combination platters, yet you can get very good nachos, street tacos, burritos, chicken enchiladas, salad & protein bowls, pork chop in mole, fish in chile red sauce and more. A busy place, on a cold Tuesday evening the bar was full and almost all tables too. First place I ever had a flight of margaritas! Three 4-ounce pours of traditional, mango and cucumber habanero were all delicious, $19; a single full pour is $12. Margaritas come from the tap, our bartender explained they make them in-house ahead of time to keep up with the crowds. The few beers on tap are all macro like Dos Equis amber and Stella. Shots of tequila start about $10 for blanco, you can spent lot$ on the anejo and extra anejo ones. We tried the street tacos, three for $19, choose your protein, they are small and arrive with double tortillas so they don't fall apart. But that's a high price since a single order comes with no sides argh, have to get 2+ entrees for a "free" side. So we paid for a "mash" which was reg potato, sweet potato and corn kernels, ok but bland. The drinks, taps & tequila list is only on little iPads, keep scrolling down down right right right to see everything, nothing on their web site so it's difficult to check out the selections ahead of time.
