I wanted to like Nomad. Sourdough pizza in Haleʻiwa sounds like an easy win, especially after a long day with two little kids and most places already closing. Unfortunately, this was a hard pass. The person working the front seemed more interested in her phone than the customers in front of her. No welcome, no warmth, no recommendations, no "do you need drinks or water?" Nothing. When you're there with a 2 and a 4 year old, that kind of indifference lands even harder. The pizza itself was disappointing. The crust had some chew, but parts of it crossed from charred into burnt. The margherita was the biggest letdown: way too salty, over sauced and so floppy in the center that every slice collapsed into hot tomato sauce and cheese. The Hawaiian had the same issue. More molten sauce than balanced pizza. The setting didn't help. Mosquitoes, flies, minimal service and then you clear your own trash at the end. Which would be fine if the food were incredible. It wasn't. The one bright spot was the pina colada ice cream with honey. That was genuinely good and my kids loved it. But one good dessert does not save the meal. There are too many better places nearby to waste a night on pizza this underwhelming and service this checked out. read more

The pizza itself is delicious--but getting it is consistently a frustrating experience. Every time I've been there, service has been extremely slow, even when the restaurant is nearly empty. If there's more than one customer, expect to wait close to an hour for your pizza. I've also ordered online at 4:30 PM and waited an hour and a half for the order. There have been other occasions when online ordering wasn't available, the phone wasn't answered, and in person the customer service was lacking. One time, we were even given someone else's pizza, and the staff didn't seem to notice or make much effort to keep basic things like napkins stocked or the water jug filled. It really seems like they're understaffed on both the front and back of the house, and unfortunately the lack of staffing shows in the customer experience. We stopped in during a weekend morning and ordered waffles for a late breakfast treat. They were warm, light, and fluffy, with just the right firmness from the sourdough base. The B.E.C. waffle (bacon, over-easy egg, and cheddar cheese) was savory and satisfying, while the Avocado waffle is a favorite that I am still thinking about! The combination of creamy avocado, fresh tomato, sprouts, goat cheese, and a warm drizzle of local honey was bright, rich, and delicious. We also tried their signature Honey Slush, a dairy-free blend of fruit, raw local honey, and water that's incredibly refreshing and naturally sweet. Flavors include piña colada, coffee, lilikoi, and dragonfruit lemonade. We ordered the coffee slush (cold brew and raw local honey), which was smooth and lightly sweet, and the lilikoi slush, which was bold and very tart in the best way. Unfortunately, they were out of the coconut cream (sadness!); but next time, I'd definitely add coconut cream to the lilikoi to offset the tang and add more silky sweetness to the coffee slush. Sizes are keiki, small, and regular. We went with the small, but it was surprisingly filling and the keiki size would've been plenty. The space is cozy with limited seating inside and outside, adding to the laid-back neighborhood feel. Service was friendly, efficient, and welcoming. Ordered takeout...just walked in and waited a little over ten minutes. Requested the B.E.C. - bacon, egg ( over easy ), and cheddar cheese. I have a sophmoric joke...but I won't go there. Sourdough waffle was a bit sweet from I believe maple syrup. The cheese and bacon made for a well balanced tasting breakfast. Coffee Honey Slush was disappointing. There are plenty of small tables inside, along with two small tables outside. Our pizza took about 20 minutes, and one pizza was the perfect amount for my husband and me. It was absolutely delicious! So happy to see another great pizza place in Kailua! As someone who lived in NYC, I'm always looking for good pizza places and Nomadic did not disappoint. The sour dough crust was super yummy and all the toppings were fresh and flavorful. The piña colada slush was refreshing and flavor-packed and the Cesar salad was so good! We'll definitely be frequent customers. We went on opening day and the service was fabulous. The owner came by to chat and all the staff were so nice and welcoming. Ok- So as a food enthusiast I was scrolling thru my Instagram and came across a reel showcasing this place. So I figured why not venture from Pearl City to Kailua with my ohana and check it out. 1st off we got here after 1pm so they do not serve waffles after 1pm. They are closed on Sundays, parking is behind the business, with some street parking. When my ohana and I walked in, atmosphere was nice and simple, offering small tables and some outside seating as well. Everything made is sourdough based, the pizzas aren't too big, I would say for keiki ages 7 and under they could easily share one pizza. Being my two youngest are 6 and 7 they managed to eat a whole pizza between the two of them. Of course one wanted all cheese and the other one wanted meat lovers, they were able to combine it where one pizza was half meat lovers and half cheese (for the lovely price of a full meat lovers pizza of $25) to me not worth it as the meat lover toppings were few The lady who took our order wasn't very friendly, and it showed after we paid for our order. We sat at the small tables to eat the pizzas there with our lilikoi honey slushes. When we waited for our order, my husband noticed the cashier call our number and avoided eye contact as she proceeded to another table with our items as you could see the disappointment of the tip amount we gave when ordering our food. My youngest needed to use the bathroom and when I had asked if they had a restroom she was quick to reply with a not so friendly "No" Not any further recommendations as to where we could go to use a restroom. The only person who seemed really nice was a nice lady from the kitchen area, as my son had spilt his water on the table and I asked if they happen to have a mop so I could possibly clean it as I didnt want to waste their napkins. She was super friendly and helpful. Overall the pizzas were ok, not really worth $22-$25 for size and amount of ingredients Definitely expensive Also they charge extra for take out boxes So if u order to take out you will incur a charge for the box Also if u don't finish your food and want a box to go you will have to purchase one. My new favorite restaurant in Oahu! This place is so good! The pizza was incredible--fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with really high-quality ingredients. The crust is perfect, not too heavy, and you can tell the dough is made with care. We tried a couple different pizzas and everything was great. Nothing felt overdone or gimmicky, just really well-done food. Even the simple things were done right. And the slushes deserve a shoutout--they were so refreshing and the perfect combo with the pizza. Not overly sweet and actually really well balanced. The menu is fun, the food comes out fast, and everything tastes fresh. It's the kind of place you leave already talking about what you want to order next time. We'll definitely be back. food is good 7/10 (pricey but good for what you are getting) waffles have a nice fluffy texture with whip and syrup- service is great , Noa is pretty nice- recommended all the food we got and recommended about the coffee shop next door (The Well), local customer service outweighs the racism is the area definitely. Store is clean , needs more spaced out seating but what can you do with a tiny shop? Let me start by saying I rarely write a bad review, I think I have written one before on Yelp. Haven't tried anything on the menu but the pepperoni pizza. I was so excited to give this place a shot. The service was great for take out. The pizza tasted like gasoline. Not sure what type of oven they use. It was covered in cheese with close to no pepperoni. Hopefully the owners are reading these reviews. We went to this location a few weeks after the opened. We ordered 2 pizzas and waited 45 minutes and did not get our pizzas we asked and the cashier she said at least another 30. We couldn't wait so we got a refund and left. We tried again today but this time placed our order online and got there about 40 minutes about after and the cashier said they didn't get the order alert and so it would be at least 45 minutes for us to get our pizzas because there was only 1 person in the back. Then she couldn't really figure out how to give a refund for the online order. Get more staff it's not fair to the staff that are there and have to deal with customers getting upset because they have one prep cook at lunch time. It's too bad we were excited to try them but never going back again. read more

Honestly, it was disappointing and I won't be coming back. The cashier wasn't even that friendly to start with and even seemed irritated that I did not tip her. I'm glad I didn't cause she messed up making my slush by putting in coconut cream when I ordered the lilikoi slush. I'm sorry, but you just recently opened, first impressions matter. Loved the old location so much and food was always a 10/10! The new location unfortunately doesn't offer the delicious pita sandwiches (gosh I miss those!) and the gal at the front taking orders didn't seem very happy to help us. We tried again the next week in hopes it was a fluke but the same girl was there and my friend and I both felt super uncomfortable staying to eat there with the unkind girl at the front. Highly suggest putting a friendly face at the front- this represents your company and you want people to feel welcome when coming to your restaurant. Finally, at 5:55 p.m., I walked out with the pizza and Caesar salad. Recently stayed in Kailua for a week. Headed right away to Buzz's. Had a great time there, but we found a place that we couldn't stay away from called Nomadic Pizza. They are a bit behind on the tech savvy part, we almost gave up looking for them as originally called wild something and the hours were horrible and didn't translate to the new name. But we persisted as we really believe in the sourdough experience and wanted to try it. First visit we had the margarita Pizza. It was fantastic. We didn't get that heavy bloated feeling after normal Pizza, it went down really well and we shared one of their honey ice desserts. Super yum. We were planning to go back to Buzz's the next night, but we decided to opt for nomadic Pizza one more time, and tried the Hawaiian hot honey Pizza. We asked for the hot honey on the side just in case it was too much on the hot side, but it wasn't. It was absolutely perfect. We also ordered the margarita pizza again, because we felt like we could have that the next day for breakfast or lunch and we did. Wish there was a nomadic Pizza in Waikiki. We did discover one on the North shore in Haleiwa. Would love to know when these guys are going to bring one to Southern California. Would love to have one in Orange County. read more
