Only ding on the rating I will give is that for the price, the quality isn't this out of this world (still very very good, but not for $43 for pasta with chicken and cheese curds). The pasta was excellent - olive oil, garlic and chili flakes made for a rich, savory pasta with just enough heat. The cheese curds were the right balance of chewy and crispy. The servers were very nice (service wasn't the fastest and they weren't busy, but it was Saturday and not in a hurry, so whatever). Nice place near Dgates. Not many options in Milwaukee airport so good to grab this one, the service was very good. Food was decent and came quite quickly. Ordered veggie tomato basil panini with upgraded fries and chicken pizza with pesto drizzle. Panini was smaller in size but good and was made fresh. The food was ok, but the staff showed very little attentiveness. I waited to be seated while the waitress sat in a booth chatting with a friend. Only after someone tapped her on the shoulder did she finally seat me. With the kitchen directly behind my table, one of the male staff members--possibly a chef--kept loudly shouting to coworkers about his weekend. He was so loud it was impossible to relax. When I finally asked the waitress to please ask him to quiet down, he responded by yelling at her, "Tell him I'll try," and obnoxiously continued raising his levels even more. I left. I find this very interesting. I had lunch in the airport and when I got my bill there was this weird charge on it for very little like 70 some cents.EMP BEN. I was just curious so I asked the server about it and she goes hold on. I'll show you we have it written down.(which tells me lots of people ask what that is.) it is a charge to help insure the worker with benefits. According to her, it is not a tip. Normally, I would just ignore it, but it strikes me when people are saying how people are trying to nickel and dime on their food bills, I imagine some people will deduct that from their tip. It's kind of like double indemnity. Just saying. It's It's the way they go about it. Use your employees to pay for what you should be paying for them. The service here was seriously five stars. Rashunda was manning the grab and go counter and she was quick to tell me all of my options. All of which were available quickly! They also have a decent seating area across from the grab and go counter, it was a nice option to grab my food and have a table to eat it at. I went with the pizza. It tasted like pretty standard frozen pizza, not bad by any means, but not great. There aren't a ton of options at this side of the airport. This restaurant was what you'd expect for an airport restaurant in terms of atmosphere. It's open with a lot of tables, Italian music playing in the background. There's a view into the kitchen which I think is always fun to watch. I ordered the 10" margarita pizza and the garlic bread appetizer. The crust on the pizza was thin, but it was soft and flimsy. There was more sauce than cheese on top, and a lot of basil. It was $11.99, which is average for airport pizza. It had good flavor, but I wish it wasn't as flimsy, as the pizza would flop down and the toppings would slide off when I picked it up. The garlic bread tasted like bread you'd buy from the freezer, lacking in freshness and flavor. It was $6.50. The sauce to dip the bread in was disappointing and lacked in flavor. The service was mediocre. My waitress didn't check in on refills or ask how the meal was. I asked the bread to come out first, but I got the pizza first. However, it was fast, which is nice when you're trying to catch a flight. Overall, I'd say I wouldn't come back if this were a restaurant outside of a small airport. This is the second time I've popped in here while flying out of MKE. Located in D concourse, it is maybe one of the only non-chain restaurants with a bar on this side of the terminal. Service is usually good - quite friendly - and tonight was no exception. I haven't been too excited about my food choices though, especially given the $$. Today Calamari and a prosecco ran me $30+, and sadly I found the calamari quite bland, although from reading the description on the menu it sounded like there would be a little flavor. On my last visit I had grilled salmon on a bed of sauteed spinach and potatoes and also thought the salmon was bland (cooked well, good texture, but bland). And then potatoes were a little soft. Tasted great. The sausage pizza was thin crust but like someone else wrote in their review was floppy. The bottom of the pizza and the edges looked well done but the cheese was melted and not crispy. Stuck in Concourse D for a few hours, this is pretty much your only choice if you want a decent sit down table service meal. Service was extremely friendly and fast. Started with the old dependable fried ravioli which was pretty good and hard to mess up. Main course was the creamy truffle chicken bow tie pasta... which was disappointingly one note in flavor. I added sriricha and black pepper to punch it up and it was pretty tasty after doing so. I stopped here for dinner before my flight. I could smell the pizza as I was approaching the restaurant and made up my mind that's what I was having. It was seat yourself so my coworker and I walked around to look for a table. All of the empty ones had dirty napkins and plates on them. We finally just sat down at one and a server came by and wiped it down. They should clean tables immediately after a guest leaves. We ordered mozzarella balls with marinara sauce, a bowl of creamy potato soup with roasted cauliflower and prosciutto, and a four season pizza. The pizza came with olives, mushrooms, artichoke, and prosciutto. The server asked me if I wanted a little bit of each topping on each slice because it generally comes in 4 slices and one of the toppings on each. Strange. If I wanted an only mushroom, or only artichoke I'd just order that. I'm getting the four season pizza because it all sounded tasty together. Mozzarella balls came first and was a fried ball of cheese with marinara. Good, but nothing special. The plating could have used some work. It was a big plate with the balls plopped on it and a little sauce bowl. My soup was taking a while so I checked to make sure she had the order. She said she placed it to come up with the pizza. I kind of assumed I'd get it beforehand but was too tired to say anything. The pizza came, it had my favorite crust. Crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. No soup. She said she'd be back with it. My soup came. It was luke warm, almost cold. The flavors were delicious, creamy and rich, and the roasted cauliflower added depth to it. I would have loved it hot. The pizza was okay, visually it looked better than it tasted. I enjoyed the crust but the rest of the pizza was floppy. I love thin crust pizzas, but with a crispy crust. When I picked up a slice it like a wet rag. This place looked like a better Italian restaurant than it actually was. But it's also in an airport, I guess I shouldn't be so disappointed. read more

Inside Terminal D at MKE airport. First time eating here at Nonna B's. I know its more of a pizza place, but when I saw a Tuna Panini sandwich on the menu, the description looked so good, I ordered it. The server didn't ask me nor did I ask her about sides that came with the sandwich, so I wasn't expecting one. I was surprised to find that it was accompanied by roasted (or pan fried -??) red potato cubes that were nicely browned and seasoned with a bit of garlic. They were really good. I wasn't sure what kind of tuna was going to come on the sandwich when I ordered (I was distracted by my delayed flight out of MKE and was busy rearranging plans) and was a bit disappointed to see that the sandwich was canned "light" tuna; not white meat albacore, OR seared Ahi?? For the price, $10.75, I was holding out hope that it might be. It also was not on a traditional Panini style roll, but on what looked like sliced sourdough bread that was Panini style grilled. The sandwich had mayo and chopped egg on it. Although it was not what I expected, it wasn't bad and the "light tuna" did not have a bad taste or smell to it. Having said that, the menu description of the sandwich was totally more upscale compared to what was served. Service: Outstanding job by server Katie who was friendly and efficient. There's not many choices at the MKE airport in the concourse where I normally take off, so I appreciate that this one is actually a good choice. They can get very busy, but they're good about keeping service moving without being pushy. The service staff are adorably nice: my young server was so excited about the soup that she said, "Oh, dude! It's amazing!" followed immediately by, "oh I'm so sorry, that was really rude to say that!" I thought she was charming in her enthusiasm. And the soup was really good. Well, I didn't get to enjoy the full experience because 1) it was early 2) I had a flight to catch. This place smelled amazing and I saw dishes being delivered that were just mouth watering. I went for the calamari, hoping it would be flash fried and out quick, well it was. There is nothing worse than overcooked calamari or excessive traffic jams. This came out cooked perfectly and a healthy mix of rings and tentacles. My boo and here stopped here for a quick bite to eat before boarding our flight. Since it was between this or a to go sandwich shop we figured it was about our only option. To start I had the smoked Bloody Mary which completely exceeded my exceptions. The flavor was delicious and the smokey flavor was just right and not too overbearing. They topped it off with a lime, green olive, pickle and celery. So good! Food wise we started with the calamari app and shared the spicy pepperoni pizza. The calamari was very good. It was cooked perfectly and wasn't too greasy or heavy. We both enjoyed the pizza as well, but the crust was a little bit too soggy for me. I'd recommend asking them to cook it a little longer if you're a crispy crust fan with me.
