This is a small place, they have three little tables and some chairs against the window. A small TV with rabbit ears sits on top of the garbage can. It's in a tiny not so great strip mall, however the place has very clean windows and it's clean and welcoming inside. As others have said, the slices are huge, stick with the stuffed, overall I found it tastes better. My husband went with the thin, which isn't so thin, he said it was doughy. The only thing that it may remind you of NY style with this thin is the size of the slice, it doesn't taste like NY pizza at all and I've had my share of NY pizza. This place accomplishes exactly what it aims to do, it's a grab some food place. Clean, fast and friendly. Speaking of clean, and not that it matters to me but the young girls up in front love to drop the f-bomb along with their gossiping. If I had a little kid with me I might take offense. I was forced to come here a couple times. The first time, I was quite hungover. That's usually when I love greasy, artery clogging food. But even then, Nonna's was pretty "bleh". As previously mentioned, the slices are big. And you get it for a pretty decent price. Though I do remember seeing a sign that they had to raise their prices because of these (oh God please don't make me say it again) hard economic times (doh!). Only one little gripe: the pizza is very bland! The crust has absolutely no flavor. I suggest loading up on the parmesan and crushed red pepper. Or do like I do when needing to give ordinary food some flavor: reach into the back of the fridge for your can of jalapenos. This pizza needs it. I just moved here to the Old Town neighborhood from the Loop and sadly my favorite place doesn't deliver here. So, I've been trying to find the next "usual." This is probably not it. The prices are good and the flavor is OK, but my first pizza order arrived cold and dropped. Yes, dropped. Sadly, it was only after I had brought the pizza in and opened the box I discovered it was cold and the entire pizza was mashed up on top of itself into a corner of the box. I'm usually a pretty good tipper and this time was no exception--particularly since neither of us had change on us (shouldn't the delivery person?). But I think my 50% tip was excessive in this case. And then, weirdly the place calls later and asked if I ordered a pizza. "Uhh, yes." And asked if it arrived. "Umm, yes." I also explained the state of the pie. Her reply: "You, too?" I have been coming to Nonna's for a very long time. I have always been satisfied with the pizza. It's not amazing pizza by any means, but it's six dollar pizza in a huge portion. I don't come for the quality, I come for the convenience. I haven't had any problems all these years of coming. No matter what time I come, I am always out the door in under two minutes. I did have a problem one time with the pizza taking too long and the awesome cashier said that the pizza was on her. Such a cool thing to do. However, and this is going to sound SUPER fat of me, there are times where the portion is smaller than normal. I come to Nonna's because the pizza is a large portion that gets me full and makes me question my entire life after eating it. I go there because I know I'll be getting exactly what I pay for. Usually when I get a slice from there, they struggle to get the styrofoam to close. That's the sign of a good size slice. There are times however that that thing closes way too easily. I open up the box and it's way smaller than normal. Yeah, I sound like the hugest and fattest thing on the planet right now, but it's something I have noticed in the past and kind of an ongoing thing. I say one in every three or four visits I get a smaller sized slice. That's the only reason I would give it four stars. Also, they made the ranch cup smaller. BUT they have the slice of the day which is only $5. You can't go wrong with that at all. The Margarita slice is awesome. Overall, very decent pizza for a decent price. This place was recommended to me by one of my students, so I decided to give it a try. First, let me start with the parking lot: very small, as are most strip-mall lots. Once you go in the store, though it's a nice, maybe even quaint little place. But I have found some pros and cons: Pros: Food is fairly priced. I think you get a LOT for the money, especially a slice and fries costing about 8 bucks. They always give you a cup (albeit a small cup) for drinks, and if I am not mistaken if you eat in, you get free refills. In general, you get in and out relatively quickly. Also, I do frequently see the tables and glass cleaned on a regular basis. Cons: As has been said about the place, the pizza can be bland. For me, the flavor profile tends to be inconsistent. A few times, the pizza was perfect, other times, it was too doughy, and other times it was very bland. Find a lane and stay in it. Additionally, the workers tend to lack customer service skills. I have been there and heard the guys in the back talking way too loudly, and I have heard the young people in the front talking about personal business, with expletives. Consider your audience and rein that in when you have people in front of you. Additionally, the only thing ever on the tv is soccer. If the workers want to watch that, no problem...however if that is for the customers, then there should be some neutral programming. Overall, a few tweaks and this can be a pretty good spot, it's just kinda up and down. I have been several times and despite the cons, I like the place, but I'll like it better with a few minor changes. read more

Just like some of the other reviews have stated, this pizza is BLAND and the cheese is CHEAP. The sauce isnt zesty, but hey I could live with that. What I cant tolerate is the use of cheap cheese. Cheap cheese is the use of 2% skim instead of WHOLE MILK Mozzerella. That right there makes or breaks a pizza PERIOD. Sure the slice is huge..its actually 2 large slices put together. Current price is $5 for a slice and a small drink. I had to coat mine with salt and shaker cheese before I even tasted anything. My husband and I were drawn in by the "World's Largest Slice" sign on their window. While it is big, they are stretching it a bit with this sign. The pizza fell short in flavor, as well. I order from here once in a while since I work nights and they're open til 3am. Chicken focaccia sandwiches are delicious but sometimes hit or miss. Sometimes I'll get the sandwich and the chicken is too dry. The wings are good but sometimes on the small side. Once I got an order of wings and they all were mangled up looking. My biggest complaint about this place though is sometimes they forget to make my order. I'll call in an order, they tell me a certain amount of time (let's say 25 minutes) I'll get there a little after they said and the cashier in the front will charge me for my food, turn around, realize the orders not on the rack or in the warmer, disappear to the back, come back and tell me it will be a few more minutes. I'll stand to the side to wait, watch as the cooks start making my entire order then 25 minutes later I'll get my food. The thing that pisses me off about this is the fact that the cashier knows they didnt make the order so instead of being honest with me they just make it seem like it will only take a few more minutes when I'm actually sitting there for 20 or more because they completely forgot to make it. Just be honest with me, offer me a refund if I dont want to wait and if I do end up waiting you should either give me something for free or discount my order for the inconvenience. And this has happened to me more times than it should. read more

Ok so I wasn't sure what to rate this place. It's more of a grab your food and go place.I mean they do have a small sit area but it's not a dine in restaurant. DO NOT BUY FROM THE OAK LAWN LOCATION! I ordered from Seamless.com and my order was never delivered and the operator assured me that my card would not be charged. It did get charged a few days later and when I tried to get a refund the Assistant Manager, Megan, told me that they don't even use Seamless. I've ordered from this place before on Seamless and received my order so I don't know why she said that. She was very dismissive and was clearly not trying to help me get a refund. The operator that I talked to a few nights before even said that they were having issues receiving the online orders. The food is not good enough to go through all this trouble. Where do I even begin how do I even start? If there would be a zero or even a negative star I would so give this establishment! Last night my husband ordered two stadiums size pizza is half cheese half vegetables to sample platters two boxes of chicken wings and an order of chicken tenders... $130 worth of food! Delivery was punctual and on time however I can't say the least to the order it's self... both stadium size pizzas were all vegetable, that would have been a plus minus the fact that we had many people with food allergies that could not eat vegetables or certain kind of vegetables that were on the pizza! We called right away upon noticing that both of them were all vegetables not have cheese. Talk to a staff manager and basically they said if they were to get a cheese pizza out to us it would be 45 minutes to an hour to get the pizza by that time all the food would be cold if I were going to wait and eat and it would not be fair if we ate pizza without our gas eating with us. So we suggested to keep a credit for a stadium size pizza for the next time we called, and basically the only thing they had to offer if we didn't take the remake pizza that same day wait an hour start of our gas after spending $130 worth of pizza was basically 25% the next time if we were to order if there was a next time!!!!!!! So I decided to give them a call later today and I basically got a young female manager by the name of Michelle whom I explain the whole situation to and the sequence of events that happened and she basically said the same thing the only thing she was able to offer was 25% which was preposterous even though it was their error their mistake honestly if I was in her position I would refund the whole order!! She basically took my name and my number down and said that the store manager or owner by his name is Nick would be giving me a call as soon as he stops in and that would be in a few days!!!! We're not talking about missing chicken tenders are missing order of fries were talking about a whole order that was wrong!!!
