Beware and keep an eye on your total amount charged. Purchased two pizza through the easy to use online ordering. Had to go out anyway and decided to pick it up. Total charged through Apple Pay and picked pizza up 25 mins later. About 2 hours later, I get an alert that my amount was refunded and an email notifying me that a $5.00 tip was added to my order. Since I picked it up, I did not tip anything online, nor did I write a tip on the receipt I signed when I picked up the pizzas. Went back and asked how the tip was added. No answer was given and person at counter seemed nervous. They offered to "fix" the problem and took my name. Waited to see if problem was fixed but no refund was received. Pizza was decent but I will not be back. Can't go to a place if I can't trust they will charge me the correct amount. I would consider the fact that someone entered a tip on my charge, without my authorization, to be borderline criminal. You have been warned. read more

Certainly the best pizza spot in Southington, and coming from a New Haven County pizza snob that says a lot. My coworkers and I used the Yelp online ordering service for this on a busy Saturday evening. Yelp24 blows grub hub out of the water. Their menu was easy to peruse, simple payment options, and it even gives you a count down till delivery and the option to get an update on delivery. Besides all of this..the pizza! Great thin crust, High quality ingredients, solid execution. We devoured a steak and cheese pie (the American cheese made this something special) and the special everything, loaded with Italian meats. Only place for improvement was the wings..the garlic Parmesan were delicious, crispy fat rendered garlicky cheese goodness. We went for the first time Thursday. The food was great! We got a small buff chicken pizza, nonni stix and 12 wings. The food was fresh and tasted great. We would have given a 5 start but we did have one small issue, we ordered bbq chiptole wings and were given buffalo. It wouldn't have been a big issue but we had also gotten buffalo pizza. The pizza here is fantastic. I can't imagine anything in the area being close to the excellence of this pie. However, this pie may draw criticism from people unfamiliar with napoletana style pies. Pies fired in an oven with extreme temperatures will have a distinctive char on the bottom of the crust, undoubtedly people will call it burnt. It is burnt, as it should be. So, if you read this you have been informed, so don't complain. I have had this pie only once so far, via delivery, and I can say with complete conviction this is holy pie. My only criticism was I had to add salt. The sauce just didn't have enough to make all those flavors sing in complete harmony. Easy enough fix with a sprinkle from my shaker. Very dissapointed after all the good things I heard. Ordered large cheese sicilian. The sauce and cheese were good but the dough was so under risen that the pizza weighed about 10 pounds. The dough was completely like a gut bomb it tasted like uncooked flour and I only ate one piece. I went home and carefully preceded to make the crust half as thick, and crisped up the bottom, and ate a few pieces, but still tasted like raw dough and flour. I guess maybe I should have ordered the thin crust. Sicilian is always hit and miss. Tough to find the places that know how to make the crust light and airy like it should be. read more

Wings are impressive, bigger than the ones you'd get on average at Buffalo Wild Wings. Their pizzas have delicious flavor, well-textured crusts, and reheat to nearly the same consistency as when fresh! (complete with not-too-chewy crusts!) Also, they provide very good quality parmesan with each pizza as well as house-made blue cheese (with wings) that's made me an instant convert. Awful service, food wasn't any better. The blonde woman at the front who took our order made us repeat ourselves three times when all we wanted was a half special, half pepperoni pizza. Seemed annoying because then she started to explain what would come on our pizza as if we didn't know. We picked up the pizza and went to the brewery next door only to find out we had received a full special pizza even though on the ticket in the box it was stated half/half. Our party was upset and couldn't eat any and it was too late to go back.The pizza center was raw, soggy and not stable so all of the toppings would fall off while the crust was burnt black and inedible as well as the bottom of the pizza having gross black burnt spots. I have now had Nonna's twice- the first time was during the Apple Harvest Festival at the end of last month. It made sense to try the place given they were open and their prices were just a little better than the puffed-up ones at the festival. The prices are very good for what you get. Their large is quite huge for pizza. Their pepperoni is flavorful and aromatic. The brick oven cooking is very present in a good way. The only minor issue is that it's just a touch greasy. That could be due in part to the pepperoni. We got a pepperoni pizza again this time along with their jalapeno poppers and cheesy garlic bread, and we had it delivered. The free delivery (though $25 minimum, be aware) is another nice feature. I'm pretty happy with Nonna's, and it's running neck-and-neck as my favorite pizza place in Southington. read more

We have gotten many deliveries from them in the past and have also eaten in the restaurant. They serve a great pizza along with other items. My only problem was with the delivery this time. Given the social distancing guidelines in place, I expected the driver to be wearing a mask and gloves like every other delivery we have gotten during these trying times, but no. Finally got to try Nonna's this weekend. I am a pizza snob. I'd rather have no pizza than mediocre pizza and I'm glad to say that Nonna Artemisia's is worth the trip for me. I ordered a chopped salad and a large cheese pizza. Both were enjoyable. The salad had a nice selection of fresh veggies and hit the spot. The pizza had some plusses too. The sauce and cheese were very good although the cheese was a little salty. The crust had very nice flavor to it and a nice chew to the end crust pieces. The crust underneath was not as crispy as I like, it was quite soft actually but it was improved greatly upon reheating (stove top in a skillet of course) the next day. Heard the pizza at this place was fantastic so my mom and I decided to give it a try for lunch. It's true! The pizza is amazing! The sauce is so good with just the right blend of herbs and spices. We started off with Nonna Stixx which are basically strips of fried dough served with marinara sauce. These were HUGE and so delicious. Then we had a large Margherita pizza with chicken. Due to the large portion sizes there were plenty of leftovers to take home for lunch/snacks the next day. The place itself is small, clean, and the atmosphere is great. I used to order from them weekly . They always had great food and prices. Recently I ordered mozzarella sticks for 9$! They used to be good sized triangles of mozzarella . Now for the same price you receive 5 or 6 frozen store bought garbage for the same price . That goes along with the boneless chicken wings. For 8.95 you receive 5! Small circular balls of chicken. The place used to be better. On the site it says the owner still runs it but the last bunch of times I was in there its just a bunch of mexicans that dont know how to bake a pie. I dont have a problem with mexicans, I just know they arent the same people, I've been going there sparsely for 7, 8 years. I just got charged 20 bucks for a medium pie with no meat on it, if I wasnt so darn hungry I would have told them to go stuff the overcooked thing. I love a margherita but the mozz wasnt even liquid at all, it was...kinda like it was fired out of a cannon onto the pizza or something, I guess it still resembled cheese. It was just overcooked merged into the top of the pie, the edges all black. I asked them how hot their over was a year ago and they said like 800 degrees, no wonder stuff's coming out all black and if you get meat on the pizza its a watery mess that flops all over the place. The place has good recipes but I dont know if I'll bother going back because the last 4 or 5 times the slices are floppy then this one was stiff as a board and I didnt give them any special instructions at all.
