We've have walked past this place for years now. Not sure why we never stopped by before, but we won't make that mistake again! Super small and intimate but amazing nonetheless! Our server was the owner's son and he was great & informative. We had heard the portions were large and that's a fact! The calamari was delicious & the chicken Parmesan was fabulous!! Definitely stop by this little treasure that is off the beaten path....it's well worth it!

Cute little sign

This restaurant is top notch!! The decor, music and service is impeccable! The food is honestly just like my little Italian Grandma (Nonna) !! Go for the pasta of your choice with the huge homemade massive meatballs!! Your choice of marinara or vodka sauce! Both are outstanding!! The outdoor dining is like being in Europe at a little cafe! Outstanding everything!!!

Visiting the St. Augustine island is a must and the variety of food options is overwhelming. Every meal was great but some locals recommended Nonna"s as the best Italian food on the island. They were right, but I'd say it was some of the best Italian food I've had in all my travels. The menu changes slightly as they rotate chef specialty dishes. You start with a basket of fresh homemade bread but I urge you to only eat one serving because your meal portions are humongous. We ate half our portions and took the rest home for her next day. I recommend sharing an entree if you can't take home your leftovers and then you might have room for a dessert! Our group had spaghetti and meatballs, some of the largest ones I've ever seen and filled will flavor. We had a chicken fettuccine with pink sauce, honestly did not know that's basically alfredo and red sauce mixed equally, which I loved. The chicken on this dish was well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Our third dish was pasta bolognese and this is a personal favorite. The sauce was perfection and I loved the capers as an added bonus. I wish I had you to try a dessert but I'm confident it would have also been delicious. Everything tasted like a genuine Italian family recipe. This adorable place is a bit tiny so try to go at opening to avoid a line, but either way it's worth the wait.

Celebrated my daughter's 30th birthday. They had a large staff and always on top of anything we asked for. The food was very good! The meal portions are very big here. The only disappointment was the calamari. It was not good. All the pastas had great flavor. I can see the cook from where I was sitting in the kitchen. The place was clean and has a lot of character. I've eaten here several times it's a go to place for us.

Let's start with our server Paul. Engaging and welcoming. I thought he was they owner he was so friendly. The food was very good. The shrimp pasta was a very big portion. The chicken piccata was with just the right amount of lemon. Despite being cold outside we sat under the heat lamps and couldn't have been more cozy. Would say a solid dinner if you want Italian food.

I really wanted to like this place. We are local and just happened to walk by one beautiful night. The place is quaint and atmosphere is amazing on the oldest street in the U.S. and they had Italian music playing, so we came back a few nights later. Rolls were great, chicken parm was okay, interestingly not breaded. Chicken piccata was bland and shrimp scampi was nothing special. I understand everyone has different tastes but our party of 3 felt the same way. The waiter was a young kid who mumbled and was difficult to understand. He came to the table once and didn't return to ask if we wanted more drinks, etc. Prices are very inflated because it's a tourist town and it appears the add the 20% tip after tax which is not the industry standard. Tips should be based on pre tax subtotal. We tried it but wouldn't return.

We finally visited Nonna's Trattoria on a spur of the moment date night in St. Augustine. Things were pretty quiet after the storm, so we were excited to get some authentic Italian. The weather was gorgeous, so we enjoyed our meal outside on the sidewalk. The inside of the restaurant is pretty small, so it was nice to have room to spread out a little. Service was perfection. Our server was friendly and polite, and everything came out wonderfully. We started with warm garlic rolls, that were soft and soaked in butter, garlic, and herbs. Delicious. We also each enjoyed a glass of pinot, which was perfect on a fall night. I did find the menu a little limited, but ordered the chicken marsala with a side of penne Alfredo, while my husband got the chicken parm with penne and red sauce. Both plates of chicken were tender and well cooked and seasoned. And the pastas were great as well. I would have liked some different kinds of pasta on the menu, but it was a solid meal and a lovely night!

This place lives up to its name! The food and ambience were 10 out of 10. We had Nino as our server and he was very personable and knowledgeable about the menu. It is hard to find great service like that nowadays. We live about 45 minutes from this place, but would come to St Augustine just to eat here again. I would certainly recommend this place to anyone! Must try!

Arrival: There are parking lots nearby--expect to pay around $15-25. As we walked up, there was live jazz music playing in the courtyard, which set a really great vibe right away. Service: Our waiter was attentive and timely without being overbearing. Food: Everything was amazing. We started with the bread service--the truffle butter was definitely the highlight (we didn't care too much for the ricotta spread). FYI: the little cubes that look like white cheddar are *not* cheese...I learned that the hard way by biting into a square of butter. For dinner, I had the cacio e pepe and he ordered the 100 lasagna. Portions were a bit smaller than expected, but honestly fine after filling up on bread. For dessert, we shared an affogato--the espresso wasn't burnt (which is surprisingly rare), so that was a big win. Overall: After the Resy credit, parking ended up costing more than the meal, which is kind of wild. Only downside was that there are just two restrooms, and there was a line when we went. Great time overall--will definitely be back.

We started with the bread appetizer, which came with several types of fresh bread and an incredible lineup of spreads like whipped ricotta, truffle butter, regular butter, and honey. Every bread had its own distinct flavor and texture. Next up was the sausage appetizer featuring both a sweet sausage and a spicy sausage, all made in house. They were cooked perfectly and served in a flavorful sauce with peppers that tied everything together. The balance between the sweet and spicy was so good. For my entree, I ordered the lasagna, and it was pure comfort. It reminded me so much of the classic lasagna I grew up eating, layered with rich Bolognese and a creamy bechamel sauce that made it feel both nostalgic and elevated. My boyfriend went with the steak (I believe it's a New York strip) and swapped a few of the sides to his liking. The steak was absolutely cooked to perfection, a beautiful medium rare. I may or may not have stolen about four bites... and yes, it was worth it..... We were way too full for dessert, but we did enjoy a bottle of wine with dinner which made the whole experience feel like the perfect date night. The service was fantastic, the food was memorable, and it's definitely a place we'll be coming back to for many more dates!

The atmosphere felt inviting and our server was attentive, but the dishes themselves were underwhelming for the price point. The Arancini, crab cakes, and bolognese all lacked depth of flavor and seasoning, and none offered the layered, memorable taste you would expect from a restaurant in this price range. Presentation could also be improved to better match the upscale positioning. Based on the overall lack of flavor in the meal, we decided to skip the $12 dessert. The check was difficult to justify considering the disappointing food quality. Here is what we ordered: 2 glasses of prosecco - $12 ea Still bottled water - $9 Arancini - $16 Beet Salad - $18 Crab cakes with Orzo, kale and squash - $48 Bolognese with pancetta and prosciutto - $38 Total with tip: $200! The ambiance and service show potential, and we truly hope the food quality improves so this restaurant can reach the same level as the many wonderful dining options nearby: The Purple Olive, Llama, Blackfly, Bea's, and The Black Molly Grill.

The service was pretty good, I can admit, however even that could've been better. We got started with our evening with a bottle of wine which was reasonably priced. The house arancini was chicken stuffed, which we were only told about after we ordered the dish. Sadly, the chicken pieces were large and there was just not enough cheese to really make this dish work - nor enough sauce. I even got a piece of bone in my arancini, which just ruined my appetite. We then had decided on the chicken parm for the main course (which later we realized was rather similar to the arancini). The first chicken parm piece that was got was rather large in size, however as we cut into the dish we noticed that half of the meat was still pink and cold to the touch. We showed our waiter, and instead of treating us with some empathy, we were told that "well its not our fault, but I've been trying to tell the guys in the back to pound the meat before cooking it." We were given another piece of chicken, and it was only slightly better than the first piece, but we ate a few bites and called it an evening. It's too bad, I'd be willing to try this place out for other dishes but I don't know if I'll choose this place again, knowing there are other options nearby. The best part of the evening was the ambiance and the wine, so maybe a happy hour in the future is in order.

The interior wasn't my favorite; the aesthetic didn't really read as Italian to me and leaned more modern. The tables and seating felt a bit on the cheaper side. We went on a Friday around 7:30 pm, and it was surprisingly quiet inside. Drinks: I ordered a sangria, which wasn't my favorite. It tasted on the weaker side. Food: I ordered the gnocchi. It was a bit rubbery and not as soft or potato-forward as I prefer. It reminded me more of store-bought gnocchi than homemade. That said, the portion size felt fair for the price. Location: The restaurant is located on the St. Augustine Beach barrier island, which is convenient if you're staying nearby and don't want to head into historic downtown for dinner. It was in a slightly odd spot within a business complex, with condos located above. Service: Good.
