What a find. Great little taco shop with team preparing your meals. I went with Sopes The good news is that the beans are fresh and can be made refried with oil. Meaning no manteca or lard The moment you walk in you can smell the Chicken Tinga. I know this aroma very well as my wife makes it regularly at home for the kids. We have been a couple of times and my favorite is the green chile anything. There's a nice kick of heat without being overpowering. Today was al pastor street tacos and an al pastor tricolor burrito. I like that there are several choices of meats, three types of beans, two types of rice and numerous salsas and fresh toppings to choose from. We stopped in because I wanted quesabirria tacos. And it was a Tuesday. Well, they didn't have quesabirria tacos. I was pretty bummed out about that. But I was there , and a taco would do at this point. There was an older lady working who suggested several things. I ended up ordering the $2.50 tacos. Ended up with (2) chicken tingas and (4) carne asada. They were small , bite size almost. But they were delicious. I literally ate my 2 within minutes so they were gone before I thought to take a picture. lol. Anyway, I wish quesabirria was on the menu but the tacos were pretty damn good anyway. They changed the name of this place, but everything else seems the same, including the prices. The lady didn't put my meat on the grill which wasn't what the other folks did. For some reason, the food wasn't as good, even though nothing has changed in the way it looks. Salsa bar is too difficult to use - need new setup. read more

The most friendly owners! Although they are from the other franchise they branched off on their own. They have restored the customer service that makes a business good. I didn't feel like I was bothering the workers at this location. Quite the opposite. They both engaged with me. The food is great here and you must try their homemade hot sauces. They don't advertise so it's up to us to make them successful. I agree with word of mouth advertising. It was very clean. Don't go on a Sunday. They are closed. The food here has been amazing each time I've been. We have been here later in the evening and everything is still so fresh! Make sure to grab some agua fresca and definitely a churro! Such a treat! Visited Nonno's today after attempting to eat at another (now closed?) Maskadores location. Clara, who prepared my meal, was all around wonderful. She was kind and funny and took an interest in how I wanted my meal prepared. My food was delicious as is their salsa (hot too!). I won't be looking for Maskadores locations again, as I'll be returning to Nonno's. read more

This is the first time I went back for a second cup of horchata, and may be the best I've had yet; it's smooth with authentic flavor, the sweetness and taste compliment each other nicely. I dare not let a drop of this nectar escape anywhere that's not on my palate. Needless to say, it's better sipped than slurped. Creamy and sweet, simply heavenly. Their Ranchero Asada burro packed some heat, it was their second hottest option. The staff told me the Green Chile Shredded Beef was spicier and how good it came out that day, ugh.. should've asked beforehand smh. Building the burrito reminded me of Chipotle's process. Pinto, black, or refried? Pinto. Spanish rice or cilantro rice? Spanish Pico de Gallo, onions, cilantro, salsa, guacamole? Everything, thx. The burro itself wasn't so heavy, nor was it light. It was satisfactory. It didn't feel bloated nor filling, but it sufficed as a good meal on its own. The heat builds up with every bite and does not disappoint. If you're hungry, need something hefty without feeling weighed down, this is the spot. That horchata though.. that's a different story. So my husband and I just moved into a rental house near Tatum and Union Hills and read great reviews on yelp so we decided to go try it out. We went at about 5:45 and they very busy. This is a type of Mexican restaurant that's kind of like Subway you wait in a line and you tell them what you want. I got the spicy chicken tacos. My husband got a big quesadilla with some spicy pork. He said it was really good. Huge! Mine was also very good. Very few tables inside we decided to take it to go. We will definitely be back. Meh... This was my first time and I'm not likely to go back. I read a lot of great reviews so I thought I'd give it a try. Maybe it was an off day for them but I ordered chips and salsa & guac, then the carne asada street tacos. The chips were stale & not even salted... there was no salsa. The guac I ordered was incredibly small. When I picked up my order the woman mumbled something about it not being confirmed. When I asked for extra red and green sauce she said "there over there, do it yourself." The meat in the tacos was the only good thing. With that said, it's not something I'd return for. The place was empty when I walked in except one woman sitting at a table. She was talking to the woman at the counter which is why she treated me like my business was bothering her I guess. There's so many other taco places to go to in the area. Thanks anyway read more

Super fresh street tacos! Service is really quick so we were able to stop in and grab few tacos to go. Many choices are offered so we ordered carne asada, al pastor, chicken, and pork. Thought I'd give this little place a try with my nephew after visiting the hospital next-door. We were floored by the wonderful service and the exceptional food offered at Nonno's. I recommend you try this for yourself. It was amazing ! on the way out, I asked for a to go menu and the Owner stepped out and gave me a brochure to scan . upon further inspection of the menu . This place is the best!! There are multiple taco/hispanic food places closer to my house but I drive the extra distance because the food is just that good! Everything needs to be improved, organization, staff or owners at least looking at you in the eye. I had an Uber order and I ended picking it up myself and it still wasn't ready. I was told, as a printed paper came out that they had just received it. I had to still sit and wait while they scrambled around. I asked if I could add Fried Ice Cream and Flans and was told to hold on the food needed to be made first. People then started coming in and stacking up. This place used to be Maskadores and they just switched name to Nonno's Tacos. I wanted to like them but can't. read more

We asked clarifying questions x2, but were assured, "no, it is the wild mushroom." Turned out, it was the mushroom empanada that was delivered to our table, which we originally did not order. The management did rectify the situation upon the conclusion of the event when we were paying the bill, but to us, it felt a bit accusatory as if we intentionally wanted to cause a huge fuss about the final total, which was absolutely not the case. The restaurant has a really cool vibe with good music, a fun crowd, and an upscale but comfortable feel. The décor is eclectic and unique, making it a great place to spend an evening. Our waitress, Mackenzie, was friendly and took the time to walk us through the menu and explain some of the restaurant's specialties. Collin, who made our tableside guacamole, was also great. He was personable, answered our questions, and gave us some recommendations on what to order. We ordered everything they recommended. For the four of us, we shared the crispy pork appetizer and tableside guacamole, then ordered the mahi mahi tacos, Faroe salmon, and Corona Jidori chicken. Honestly, everything was delicious. Not a single dish disappointed. To top it all off, they brought out their pumpkin bread pudding for dessert, which was amazing and the perfect way to end the night. If you're looking for a Mexican restaurant that's a little different from the usual, with great food, a fun atmosphere, and excellent service, Mission Old Town is definitely worth checking out. On our first visit, I got enchiladas and instead of rice and on the side I decided to choose their potatoes. The potatoes are so delicious. Today we ordered: - Coke - Diet Coke (no Coke Zero here) - NACHOS GRANDE - Tortilla chips, cheddar & Monterey Jack cheese, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, jalapeños. Choose seasoned ground beef, slow-roasted chicken or refried beans, or for an extra dollar, substitute fire-grilled steak or chicken fajita. I chose the chicken fajita protein topping. I ordered this for an entrée, but it would be a really good appetizer for 3 to 6 people. It's almost like cheese crisps, halved, with lots of melted cheese and a small amount of meat on each tortilla half. In the center there are toppings. I enjoyed the pickled jalapeños because they weren't extra hot. This hit my comfort food spot. I wasn't able to eat the whole thing so it was so big, but it was exactly what I was looking for. - THE GRANDE COMBINATION - Beef, chicken, cheese enchiladas, cheese chile relleno, tamale, crispy beef taco, guacamole. This combination is HUGE! Even the plate is grande. Absorbed this, and I think his eyes were larger than his stomach. He filled up on the beans and the rice, the chile relleno, and the taco. He got to take three enchiladas and a tamale for dinner the next night. A very nice tasty plate. Complementary chips and three types of salsa are brought to the table. Of the salsas, one is a red sauce that is mild, one is a pineapple tomatillo, and one is a spicier red salsa. The chips are nice and fresh and thin and brought to the table warm. Men's and women's restroom near the entrance for customers.
